Cole now knew better than to go looking for trouble, perhaps if he did not hold himself he would end up with more than just a caved in chest. So all he and the girls could do now was wait for the next wave, but just waiting did not mean that they could no prepare. Whether by coincidence or perhaps just providence, each and every single one of them had abilities that gave off delayed attacks.
In other words they could set traps in anticipation of the next wave's arrival, building on their own advantage rather than waiting to see what would happen. A couple of other denizens had made it to them, as another perimeter had been made, however Cole had sent some of them back with Neral in two. The Cyber dog was not in any danger, but he was looking pretty crumpled, and would definitely need some time to recover from the collision he had with Dark Heracles. And even though Cole was not saying anything about it, the fact the Cowardly Cyber Dog that was all mouth with a little bit of brawn would be able to put itself on the line for Cole…. It made him feel warm inside.
Either way, all three women sat in front of him for the last ten minutes staring at him and whispering amongst themselves. For some reason, probably due to either celestial magic from Farida or Elf hippie druid shit from Cassandra, they were able to keep their entire conversation private and away from his ears. He didn't care, but it was beginning to get annoying having to watch them look at him and whisper, and do it some more. But then again what could he do about it, so he leaned back and looked at the sky, counting the clouds that moved by as dusk seemed to be just about a hour or less away….. it has been quite an eventful day to be honest.
And then he listened to the Denizens and aspirants working behind him, this time they had not come empty handed as they had five sets of very powerful artillery cannons. Three of which fired off charged beams of red hot plasma that could kept the flesh from the bones of a man in under 3 seconds, and the other two fired off powerful explosive shells compressed from a variety of solar batteries….. they called those ones the [Solus Launcher] Cole would very much like to put ten of those on a wall Somewhere and watch his enemies die as they try to take his Kingdom…. So basically he was day dreaming.
"Cole so what do you say?" Cole was dragged out of his musings by Farida speaking, he had not even heard the woman talking to him, which was saying something. After trying and failing multiple times to hear what they were talking about he had tried his best to let his mind wander and ignore their very existence, he at least had been partially successful.
"What do you guys want, are you done conspiring against me?" Cole asked with a raised eyebrow the women chuckled as Irma asked him.
"So do you find any one of us attractive? Like if the option was given to you, which one of us will you bang tonight….. with the exception of Farida of course…. You'll need to marry her to take to be you know…. She's a Muslim….. what does that mean anyways?" Cole's eyebrow twitched as he answered.
"Where the fuck is this coming from? And Farida being a Muslim means she has to hold herself to higher standards than most women….. well perhaps a different set of rules that conforms to the bounds of her religion. Now really what brought this on?" Cole asked as he gave them all of his attention, somehow he knew that this had to be good.
"Well Cassandra mentioned you're engaged, but there's some sort of drama attached to it and that nobody believes you two give a shit about each other, and that there's a woman who's going every online say she's pregnant for you, but that she's not been able to reach you….. apparently the woman is now with your grandparents." Irma said as Cole's eyes narrowed and he asked with a very dangerous edge to his voice, one that left all three women feeling a chill.
"What's her fucking name?" Cassandra noticed that the tone had changed and quickly took charge of the conversation of all the people here, she was the least likely person Cole would kill out of annoyance. She swore to herself, they'd gotten so lost in girl talk and the whispers of wanting to sit on Cole's face that they had forgotten just how much darkness the man had at his Command, he was dangerous.
"Her name is Sarah, and apparently rumors are going around that you abandoned your first fiancé's for her and then after three years of using her, you've gotten tired and returned back to the woman you abandoned because of her inheritance and the influence of her family. After all your wife Tehilla is Chinese American first daughter of one of the most powerful triads out of Hong Kong, her name carries a lot of power." Cole furrowed his eyebrows as he said.
"She's not my wife....yet." but never the less these rumors were annoying him, in fact he was so annoyed he felt the urge to get the fuck out of here and back to his reality to deal with this shit. He grunted as he stood up, pacing as his heart seemed to be racing at a mile a minute. If he had to be honest, it's only been about two months, getting to three months since his split with Sarah, and he never once thought that anything would bring them close to each other again….. he was bothered, he needed to deal with her as soon as possible.
It wasn't as if he still loved her….. fuck it maybe he still did. She's been the only woman he has ever loved and he would not be so hypocritical to say that he had been the best partner during their time together. He was bum, a guy without a plan, shunning his family's influence and throwing a temper tantrum at the world. But this world was not like it was hundreds of years ago, there was no making it on your own, it wasn't that easy. But he had been lazy, after 20 years of having everything done and provided for him, having to be the person to stand up for himself and a woman was hard. Sarah wanted the comfort of a good and rich life, he wanted love, sex, more sex and lot's of babies.
Every relationship was a give and take situation, he had to offer what she need, what would make her happy and comfortable so that she in turn would give him what he wanted. There was no love that was unconditional, unless you were psychotic like Tehilla who was obsessed with him and would have done anything he asked of her, maybe she still would...Cole needed to see her.
"How long until the next wave?" he asked Farida.
"About 70 Minutes why?"
"You guys should take care of things here for me, I'll be back in time for the wave to start."
"Where are you going?" Irma asked, obviously worried about Cole's absence. He turned back to her and said.
"I'm going to see a woman….. there's something I need right now, and frankly speaking I won't find it here. See you in an hour" and then he was gone, while in the distance, the undead made their presence known.
