So, her guesses had indeed been right. And the note was not lying. . . Mo Siyan did murder her parents.
Then, there was a click as the door was pushed open. When Mo Siyan walked in, he saw Shen Liya standing in the same place she had been standing at when he left. He looked at her with a weird feeling inside of him, but he could not figure out exactly what was wrong.
"She said she's thirsty. Go get her a cup of water," he said, and Shen Liya nodded before walking out of the room without saying anything.
After closing the door, she let out a breath of relief as she was almost caught and she quickly left, going to go get a cup of water.
With the warm cup of water, she entered the room with a straight face, surprised to see An Luxia standing right at the door, staring straight back at her.
She could not help but flinch slightly at the close contact, but after a while, she continued to walk straight past her as she placed the cup of water onto the ground.
When she turned back around, she saw that An Luxia had closed the door and was facing her.
"Shen Liya," she said. An Luxia noticed a slight and quick change of expression on Shen Liya's expression when she heard her name, but she quickly went back to maintaining a straight expression as she tried to walk past An Luxia but she wouldn't let her past.
"Don't you feel any remorse for doing this?" An Luxia asked coldly, unable to recognize the same girl she had met in school.
Shen Liya did not respond but a hint of confusion flashed past her eyes and An Luxia was careful enough to catch this, so she continued, "You know you don't have to help your uncle, right?"
Shen Liya looked over at An Luxia and spoke to her for the first time she had come here, "And why shouldn't I? Do you expect me to help you?"
"Yes," An Luxia replied bluntly, "I am certain that you are smart enough to know what is right and what is wrong. There is no good in helping your uncle."
Shen Liya opened her mouth but didn't say anything for several seconds. Then, she laughed and walked towards An Luxia, looking a little more open to talk, "And what good is there to help you?"
"At least you won't feel the knot in your heart you do right now," An Luxia said slowly, causing Shen Liya to raise her eyebrows in surprise at what An Luxia had said.
Since she was a little girl, she was trained to be a top murderer, just like her uncle. After her parents had died, she was brought here by Mo Siyan, who said that he was her parent's best friend, and they wanted him to take care of her.
She had always been emotionless and possibly even heartless, but after all the events that had happened recently, when she saw An Luxia here, she felt very uncomfortable. She could not tell what it was, but it made it hard to breathe for her.
"Shen Liya, I know you aren't the same as him," An Luxia said, "We all aren't. He isn't even your biological uncle, right?"
Shen Liya narrowed her eyes at An Luxia, taking a step towards her, "How did you know?"
An Luxia had guessed, but she wasn't surprised that her guess was right, "You guys aren't alike at all. Whether it is the outer appearance, or the inner. You two are different."
Shen Liya thought back to the new information she found earlier and she clenched her fists together. Although she did not want to help An Luxia, she was also not on the same boat as Mo Siyan anymore.
He had lied to her for all this time, and used her after murdering her parents! There was no way she would let him off the hook so easily!
An Luxia frowned slightly when she noticed the anger in Shen Liya's expression. Did she say something that angered her?
Shen Liya pressed her lips together as she broke out of her thoughts and looked at An Luxia, not saying anything as she walked around An luxia and out of the room, many ideas running through her mind.
---
A day later, Mo Han arrived in Country A. It turns out that the discovery the scientists were talking about was actually nothing special, and after Mo Han had gone, they realized that it was of no use.
Mo Han was furious at them before immediately getting onto a plane to Country A. He arrived at the Si Organization's place and was escorted down to the underground chamber once again, where he was immediately greeted by his dad.
"You came a little later than I had expected," Mo Siyan said, turning around and walking into his office as Mo Han followed.
There was no one inside and Mo Han stood near the door as he said, "I will give you the HLX since that is what you want, but give me -"
"No," Mo Siyan said without even waiting for Mo Han to finish his terms, "I need an heir. The HLX is indeed very attractive to combine with the Si Organization, but I also need a heir. I want both."
Mo Han frowned, clenching his fists together as he said, "Fine, I will be your heir and give you the HLX, but let me stay with her."
Mo Siyan raised one eyebrow, "You want her to come here with you."
Mo Han thought about it and realized that it wouldn't be a very good decision to let An Luxia come live here as well, "No, I want to be able to visit her at least once a week."
Mo Siyan was silent and Mo Han thought there was some hope, but the next second, Mo Siyan shook his head, "No, she is going to pull you back and then, what will I do? I need you to agree with my terms. Stop trying to negotiate."
Mo Han glared at his father, and after a long tense silence, he stepped forward, not trying to negotiate with him anymore, "Let me take her back to Country Z. Where is she?"
Mo Siyan stood up from his chair and shook his head, "No, no, I have decided to keep her here. I am impatient."
He shrugged as a menacing smile appeared on his face, "She only has at most one month left, and this will definitely be the worst month for her. How can I let her go? Of course I have to keep her here!"
Mo Han's face turned red from anger as he marched forward, but before he could even get near the old man, two people rushed into the room and grabbed onto him, stopping him from murdering his father out of anger.
Mo Siyan clicked his tongue and shook his head in what appeared to be disappointment as he sat back down in his chair, watching Mo Han, "How are we father and son? You are quite rash to be my son. And you don't seem to know what is best for you. Women can be found everywhere! Why hang yourself on one tree when there is a whole forest out there!"
Mo Han glared at his father, attempting to break free from the two men's grip but before he could, more people rushed in and grabbed onto him.
"There is no point in trying. You can't hurt me here," Mo Siyan said, "Plus, if you do, what will happen to your little wife? She will still die."
Mo Siyan chuckled and looked towards the door as another person walked in, and he was pleased to see Shen Liya as he turned to speak to her, "Liya, look who's here."
Shen Liya looked towards Mo Han and then quickly turned her attention back to her uncle.
"Why don't you escort our guest out of our place. I think he does not want to stay here anymore." Mo Siyan said with a smile on his face, which caused Mo Han to get furious but he could not do anything else but leave for now.
Mo Siyan would not do anything to An Luxia for now, so there was no point in being here. He had to think of something quick.
Shen Liya nodded and turned around, walking out of the room as the four men followed with Mo Han in the front. After they had left the office and the door closed, they walked down the hallway to the large living room on the underground floor.
Then, Shen Liya stopped and turned around to look at them, "You guys can go. I can take care of him and get him out of here myself."
The four men exchanged worried glances and Shen Liya raised an eyebrow at them. Since they all knew that Shen Liya was the most trusted by Mo Siyan and her skills were also higher than all of them combined, they let go of Mo Han and walked away to return to their posts.
Mo Han looked at Shen Liya and they exchanged a glance before Shen Liya turned around and began walking towards the stairs. Mo Han did not do anything as the two of them walked up the stairs to the ground level.
When they reached the top floor, Shen Liya suddenly stopped before they reached the door, looking around to make sure there was no one around.
Then, she turned to look at Mo Han and said in a low whisper, "I can help you."
