However, while the rest were bickering and making jokes, no one noticed one cold piercing gaze on Chris's wide back…
But, oblivious to the malicious gaze, Chris bit his lips and shakily selected The Royal Butler. Yes, he knew the risks.
However, he would rather cry in loss rather than live in constant regret of not going for the may be much better option.
But… the moment his mind commanded the system to select the Royal Butler memories…
A torrent of memories flowed into Chris's mind. This was nothing like before when it was bearable…
It was pure torture.
He clutched his head in agony, his body convulsing as if undergoing a deadly seizure.
His brain felt like it would burst apart from the sheer load on his mind. His control of his body was slipping while his mind was getting more and more muddled with each passing second.
He had gravely miscalculated.
He knew his brain power was already weak from the stressing game of FISA. But, he overestimated himself and gave in to his greed and curiosity.
He felt he can easily handle the headache of some memories.
Probably his recent winnings and accomplishments had began to get into his head.
But as they say, 'curiosity killed the cat.' He wasn't dead yet, however he did felt like he would die. He wasn't able to control his body anymore.
It convulsed and twitched as he tightly clutched his head. Turning and throwing his body around on the sofa… however in the periphery of his vision, he saw a small, faint glimmer of blue light.
It was faint, blurry, and as if a part of nature. It's small particles merging with air, slowly increasing in density the further Chris looked towards the source of these mysterious particles.
Then he saw… a beautiful, drop-dead gorgeous face. Her eyes were ashen grey, her face like sculpted by god, that too with special care.
Her beautiful face holding a emotionless, icy cold look. She was Sierra… the icy bitch…
By the time Chris understood the mysterious particles were none other than manifestation of aura, its pressure pressed on his already muddled and overloaded face.
All this happened in just a few moments… however it felt like eternity to Chris. Before he knew it, all the suffering stopped, he was in a peaceful and calm embrace that felt strangely warm and comfortable.
Last words he had managed to hear and still remembered were… "So noisy. Shut up."
…
Chris's eyes shot open. His peaceful and calm sleep was suddenly disturbed as he rubbed his muddled eyes, trying to gain clarity in vision.
He turned his head around, fully expecting to be met by a scene of a hospital room or his own house.
However… he was wrong. Very wrong. He was laying in middle of nowhere, his body wet by some water and a bright red sky in air… red sky?
He opened his eyes wide, looking into the sky, only to find a mind boggling scene of two crimson suns hanging in the sky. Bathing the world in their warm crimson rays.
The water around was shallow, barely reaching his knees. However, what shocked Chris was its colour. It was red like blood, but much more thin and less viscous.
Looking around, his eyes suddenly met with a huge dark cloud of mist that floated in the air.
Its shapeless figure generating a suffocating aura. That being, devil, cloud, aura or whatever it was, it had by far the deadliest and most murderous aura Chris had ever felt in his life.
Chris somehow knew… that he would just die if that huge cloud ever makes up its mind to do that.
A thought. That's all it will take for Chris to even perish from existence.
Chris gulped a lump of saliva, his body shaking uncontrollably as deep in the very being of his, he felt a sense of…
Worship for the ominous being.
Why? How? And even who was the being? Chris had no idea to any of these fucking questions.
All he knew was that deep in his mind. A voice was urging him to worship the lord, bend his knees, pledge the loyalty and more chuunihbyou shit.
Chris shut his eyes and averted them. He felt the longer he looked at the scary malicious beast, the more the voice deep got louder.
He fought the voice within and in an hoarse voice, he managed to speak in a voice of a mosquito… "I won't submit, you godly devil bastard!"
Yes… thats as far as Chris's guts took him to speak back to that fearsome being.
Not getting any response, his heartbeats quickened and he began to feel the emotion he doesn't feel often… fear.
He wasn't too afraid about his life, since he had even thought of donating all his organs and give the money to his si- yeah who was he kidding, he definitely wanted to stay alive.
Every being, no matter who. Unless given a fate worse than death… never wants to die. The survival instincts was a very powerful feeling indeed.
But when all hopes seemed lost, he suddenly heard a faint sound. It was very common and the sound he heard a million times, it was a chuckle.
A faint. Very soft chuckle. But before Chris's mind can ponder further on that scarily soft chuckle, the reality around him churned.
The seas and water swirled while his vision blurred.
He flailed his hands, however he was helpless. Trying to grasp even a small holding, he clutched the grass, ground, bushes… but, they soon got disintegrated.
ραndαsnοvεl.cοm The whole world got disintegrated as Chris watched helplessly. But, he didn't have to worry too much or wait a lot.
"Weak." a deep voice whispered in Chris's voice, its deep voice filled with ominous intent that caused Chris to shiver.
However, that was all he could remember. Since the moment that ominous voice whispered in his ears, Chris's eyes closed shut.
His flailing body fell still as he lay in the shallow waters underneath. The words that he had heard, 'Weak.' kept echoing in his mind as his consciousness slipped into another slumber…
"Huff huff! Pant pant!" Chris's eyes shot open again as he sat on a soft mattress, his breathing ragged and heavy.))l]
He took deep, ragged breaths as he panted for air, the short mysterious encounter was still fresh in his mind. Giving him chills everytime he think about the big black malicious being and its deep ominous voice.
"Chris!?"
"CHRIS?!"
"Little girl?!"
"What…? Ugh…" Chris groaned in pain after hearing the continous shouts. He turned his hazy eyes towards the source of the sounds.
With one hand on his head, he looked at the group of people surrounding him.
Near his head sat Layla and Estea, looking at him worriedly while a pink haired gorgeous girl was standing behind them.
There were also Arthur, Agatha, Janet, and the other students of his university, even a tall handsome tanned guy was leaning on the couch in Chris's bedroom. His excited greyish eyes no longer having the excited glint, rather, they looked kind of bored.
"Jeez making us worried." Layla berated, hitting his shoulders.
"Yeah! Who the hell passes out like that?! We thought you were a goner!" Estea supported Layla's words.
"Indeed. I was even going to take some shares in your property. Such a shame you didn't die." Claire sighed in regret, shaking her head in disappointment.
"Pfft! What do you mean? He have two sisters before you can even think of dividing the property."
"Aria!" Chris looked at Claire's gorgeous face, his muddled head easily mistaking her to be his dear girlfriend.
"Fuck! This little girl became even dumber! Ling what did you do?!" Claire covered her mouth in shock, looking at the tanned hot guy in bewilderment.
"You were the one who treated him, miss." Ling looked at her and blinked his eyes blankly.
"Ugh…" Chris groaned in pain again, his heavy mind now remembering the events that had happened before the sudden encounter with the mysterious devil.
"Okay! Out, all of you! Let the little girl rest. He is fine." Claire looking at his condition, clapped her hands while gently supporting Chris's body to rest.
"Thanks…" Chris closed his eyes again, however instead of sleeping again. He sleepily massaged his head and began to arrange the memories again.
He wanted to go out and shout at Sierra as how dare she release her aura like that and put his life to danger!? But, he was currently too tired for that.
His mind was already overloaded enough to focus on that shit. Therefore… he discarded that temporarily from his mind and rather focused on the much more pressing and better topic.
Did his gamble pay off? Did he succeed in getting the super useful and marvelous memories of The Royal Butler?
Despite his mind being ripped apart by a nasty headache, Chris held tightly onto the small string of hope.
