203. The Army of the Demon (1)

Translator: Storm in a Teacup

The Feng Hui Flower blossomed once every hundred years, and would wither quickly right after ten seconds.

The flower itself was rare on the Xuan Tian Continent as it had strict requirements for the growing conditions, where astral wind had to blow fiercely every day and night, while adequate and warm sunlight was also a must. As such, the Feng Shen Sea naturally became the place. However, even in the Feng Shen Sea, it was still desperately difficult to find the trace of this flower.

Sir Huo Mingzi carefully picked the flower and sat down with leg crossed, starting to make an instrument.

He took out a large fiery red tripod which was covered by tiny flame snakes. Sir Huo Mingzi put the Feng Hui Flower into the tripod, and then added thousand-year Dark Crystal, Quintessence of the Flower God as well as many other valuable materials.

One day later, Sir Huo Lingzi stroke the tripod hard. Suddenly, a red light swiftly flashed out but was grasped by him.

He burst into a high-pitched laugh, “Hahaha, finally I make it! With this jade tablet, I can travel tens of thousands of miles within a second. Even Xuan Lingzi have to take great efforts to catch up with me.”

A sneer came, “Brother Huo Lingzi, I remember you told me that the instrument was made to find Xuan Lingzi.”

Sir Huo Mingzi’s smile froze.

Sir Yu Qingzi flickered her horsetail whisk and Huo Mingzi was immediately drawn into it. After another sneer, she took away this unreliable brother and left with Luo Jianqing.

Travelling with an early-stage Da Sheng Period master and a late-stage Tribulation Passage master, Luo Jianqing left the Northern Land of Arctic quickly and smoothly this time. They stopped at the border nearest to the Ku Mountain.

Sir Huo Mingzi took out an instrument from his Interspatial Ring.

That was a small and exquisite seven-stringed instrument, Guqin. The instrument was no larger than a palm, yet it gave out the power of Earth and Heavenly as it was revealed. Sir Huo Mingzi looked down at it with a serious face. He raised his finger and swept over a string lightly.

Buzz!

The instrument didn’t make any sound, but a tremendous wave of power rushed towards the Ku Moutnain!

After a while, Huo Mingzi didn’t receive any response, so he swept over the string again, yet still nothing. After a sigh, Huo MIngzi said, “Two hundred years ago, my younger fellow brother made this instrument. But he set it aside as he only played Yu Xiao Zither, so I took it from him and made a little modification to the one in your eyes now. If Xuan Lingzi heard its sound, he will definitely respond.”

But Xuan Lingzi hadn’t responded yet. Yu Qingzi’s face turned grave, “You sure its sound can spread all of the mountain?”

Huo Mingzi said, “I can’t be surer. How can you challenge the instrument I make?”

Yu Qing stopped talking.

Since Xuan Lingzi didn’t respond to the instrument and they dared not to enter the Ku Mountain precipitately, they had to leave this place for now. Before he left, Luo Jianqing couldn’t help turning back to the mountain range. Looking down from the sky, he saw the majestic sixty-four hills firmly erecting in the world of the sand.

In the Ku Mountain, a cultivator in white had been meditating with leg crossed for multiple hours.

Layers of sand falling on his clothes, covering the snowy robe with a light yellow dust. The blood on corner of his mouth had clotted, but blood gradually oozed out from his graceful and elegant face. Xuan Lingzi didn’t breath right now, and his heart had stopped beating. Only the intense battle in his body could tell others that he was still alive.

Thickly blood was still oozing from his pores, but in a quicker manner.

Before too long he had been dotted with blood all over his body.

Every drop of his blood embodied tremendous spiritual power. If someone else lost so much spiritual power in such a short period, he might suffer from anxiety and heartache, but it was quite a good thing for Xuan Lingzi.

Ten days had passed since he swallowed the spiritual pill!

How much power that pill had? Xuan Lingzi hadn’t known it as he swallowed it. By then he just guessed it embodied two or three times of his own power, yet after he absorbed that amount of power with great difficulties, he found that that the power in it was like inexhaustible and endless!

Xuan Lingzi was good at warding, not at a level never known before as Lady Feng Xian, but still among one of the top warding masters in the world. Currently, he was drawing a ward in his own body, with his primordial life as the ward center and his meridians as the array. The spiritual power with endless power was constrained in this large ward, unable to fall out of control.

This battle was much more dangerous than the first confrontation with the spiritual pill.

One slight mistake could give the pill a chance to take over his body, which would make his body completely devoured by the tremendous power. Xuan Lingzi didn’t remember how much spiritual power he had absorbed. He only knew that if he allowed the pill to keep releasing power outrageously, he would ultimately die.

The blood on his body gradually formed a layer of clot. The weak astral wind blew towards him from the cave mouth, peeling off the clot gently.

As the first layer of clot peeled, the freshly oozing blood formed a new clot quickly.

Peeling, clotting; peeling, clotting...

The quiet battle continued deep in the Ku Mountain Range.

At the first day of the collapse of the Ku Mountain, or as early as Xuan Lingzi tore up the agreement, cultivators in the world had been fraying their nerves all over, preparing for the war that could start anytime. Of course, these cultivation affairs had nothing to do with ordinary people. They could just work hard on their lands and live their ordinary but peaceful lives.
