Graven grinned. "Alright, listened carefully, Grandpa! I will explain to you the master plan from beginning to end. Save your question later after I'm done explaining to you the important uses of these garments that I'm holding in my hands right now," he said.
"Bring it on, son! You already aroused my interest to the highest level!" Terros said, looking skeptically at the garments.
Graven starts explaining the uses of the garments in a detailed manner, and each time he finished explaining, Terros face lighted up.
One hour later.
Graven finished his explanation and observed Grandpa's reaction.
Terros smiled broadly. "I got it! The whole thing is amazing! Elva's plan is indeed brilliant! I'm super impressed!" he roared.
"Exactly!" Graven shared Grandpa's delight.
"I'm so happy, son! You don't have to continue with your suicide mission! Elva's master plan can solve your problem in one go!" Terros continues raving.
Graven gave Grandpa a thumb up. "That's right! A brilliant plan indeed!" he agreed. "Next, let's discuss Plan A and Plan B, just in case something goes wrong. Here's what you will do Grandpa..." he said and start explaining to him the contingency plan during the mission.
A few minutes later.
Graven finished explaining. "Grandpa, it's your turn now to ask me all the questions that are bothering your mind at this moment. I will address them one by one..." he said.
"Okay..." Terros started bombarding Graven with questions.
It was already 10:00 in the evening when they finished discussing the master plan.
The men went to bed.
They continue running the plan in their mind wanting to make sure that any possible mistakes can be avoided and dealt with swiftly.
Hours went by.
It was only after midnight when the men finally drifted into a deep slumber.
The following day.
The men woke up late. The sun is already up, and it's already time to eat breakfast.
"Wow! Another day in paradise!" Graven joked.
Terros grinned. "Let's go to the kitchen and find something to eat!"
A few minutes later.
They managed to make breakfast in the form of boiled banana and hot coffee.
"I'm going to start working on the spell formation after I finish feeding my poultry and watering my plants. I'll be working on it from day to night," Terros said while munching on the banana.
"I will also come here to check on your progress, Grandpa. Once you finished your spell formation, we can execute the plan at the earliest possible time!" Graven said excitedly.
"Don't worry, son. My spell formation will pulverize the whole place without anyone's help. Of course, I'll make sure the nearby trees and surrounding areas won't be affected. Only the foundation and the ground of the castle will be destroyed completely!" Terros assured him.
"That's good! Thank you for your help and support, Grandpa!" Graven said and sipped his coffee.
One hour later.
Graven bid goodbye to Terros.
He disappeared from the area in the blink of an eye.
Terros performed his household chores. He plans to start working on the spell formation after lunch. For now, he needs to go to the stream and get some water to use for watering his plants and animals.
Meanwhile, at Graven's manor.
Laura was happy after she exited the bathroom and saw her husband in the room, sitting on the bed waiting for her. She rushed to his side and sat on his lap. "Since when you arrived?" she asked and planted a kiss on his head.
"Just now," Graven replied and kissed her lips lovingly. "How are you? How's our baby and everyone here?" he asked.
"Everyone is fine, including the baby and me. I miss you so much!" Laura replied.
"I'm here now," he said, smiling at his wife while hugging her.
"How's the outside world?" she asked. She can only stare at the window and watched the surroundings outside as far as her eyes can see. Even the windows have curtains so that they can hide her face.
"The outside world is peaceful, my love," Graven responded and planted a gentle kiss on her belly. "Hello baby, Father is home! I love you! Stay good always. Don't kick your mother's tummy too hard, okay?" he spoke in loving words.
Laura smiled sweetly and ran her fingers through his hair, giving him a gentle scalp massage.
Graven groaned in delight. "So, niceee massage. Please continue, wife," he said.
Laura continues massaging her husband's head. "Have you eaten your breakfast already?" she asked.
"Yup! I eat a boiled banana and hot coffee with Grandpa Terros earlier," he said.
"Ah, okay. Why is Grandpa no longer visited us here?" she asked.
"He's busy lately, my love. He has some important project to do for me," he answered.
"I see... Invite him here once in a while," she suggested.
"Okay, I'll tell him," he replied and lay his body down on the bed.
Laura lay down beside him.
"You will go out again?" she asked while resting her head on his chest.
Graven runs his fingers on her silky hair. "Not today. I'll stay here by your side all day and all night long. Tomorrow, after lunch, I'll go to my headquarters to check on my men," he replied.
Laura looked at him adoringly. "I love every single time you're here by my side," she said and planted a kiss on his lips.
Graven pinched her nose affectionately. "I'll try to be with you as much as I can, but sometimes my responsibility will get on the way. I'm so sorry about that..." he said apologetically.
"It's okay. I completely understand your situation, husband. No need to apologize," she said as she flashes her sweetest smile. "I love you so much, always remember that!" she said, feeling a bit emotional.
Graven brows furrowed after seeing the hint of sadness in her eyes. "Wife, what's wrong? Why are you looking sad all of a sudden?" he asked in confusion. "You don't like my frequent absence from your side?"
Laura released a deep sigh. "It's not that. I'm just worried that when our baby will turn into a kid, he or she will start asking questions about why he isn't allowed to go outside and see the world. What kind of life is waiting for our child?" she asked. "I can't help it, but sometimes I feel worried about the kind of life our child has to lead in the future. Will he or she becomes a hermit-like me and my family?" she lamented as fresh tears began to fall from her eyes.
Graven breathed deeply. "Please don't feel sad about it. Our child will live a different life. I'll make sure of that!" he said in a determined voice.
"How?"
"We can make him live in a different house. For example in my father's mansion in South Pond Town, together with his cousin. Or we can put him under Grandpa Terros's care. He will live a free life there," he suggested. "Wife, please don't worry so much about that issue. There are many ways we can do to make the life of our children normal and different from yours and your family," he assured her. He wiped her tears with his fingers.
Laura finally stopped crying after hearing her husband's suggestion. "You are right, husband. Our child's future is not that hopeless and pitiful. The vampire couple hasn't seen our baby's face yet, and what our child looks like when already grown up. They won't recognize the child for sure. I'm so stupid worrying too much for nothing. All I ever wanted is for our child to see the world and live his life freely without fear or danger," she finally said, feeling relieved.
Graven continues rubbing her back while his mind was preoccupied. He did remember the faces of those vampires who attacked the farm, including the vampire woman, their leader. It was just a quick glimpse of her face but enough to identify her if he will see her face again in a close encounter. "I will hunt down the vampire couple and kill them all so that you and your family can live in peace and can venture outside again without fear and worry," he said.
"No! Don't do that, husband! They are barbaric vampires. They won't hesitate to kill you if they know that you are planning to kill them. They didn't even hesitate to hurt my old father!" she pleaded for her husband to change his mind in hunting the vampire couple. Too dangerous!
Grave sighed heavily after noticing the distress on his wife's face. "Alright, I won't hunt their location, but if they start attacking me or this place, I will fight them to the death!" he said fiercely.
"Thank you, husband!" Laura hugged him tightly, afraid to let go of him. "The vampire couple is evil people. They won't hesitate to kill you. If you recognize them on the street or anywhere, please don't provoke them. Try to hide away, don't let them know that you and I are connected. They will massacre your entire family as well. You understand me, husband?" she said, looking deeply into his eyes.
Graven nodded his head. "Alright, I'll do as you say. I will stay out of trouble and out of their way so that they can't identify the connection between you and me. This way, my family won't be involved in our current situation," he finally said.
"That's good, hubby! My family situation is already hard and complicated. We should not involve other people in this mess. We have to remember the people on the farm who already died because of the tragedy. Until now, I feel sad and guilty about their sudden death. No one should die again because of the deal between my family and the vampire couple a long time ago!" Laura said firmly.
"Okay, I understand you, wife," Graven said gently and continue rubbing his wife's back to comfort her.
Silence fell upon them.
A few minutes later.
Graven decided to have a change of venue.
"Wife, let's go to the garden and relax on your favorite swing so that your mood will improve," he suggested.
"Okay," Laura smiled brightly.
The couple exited the room and headed to the garden located at the back of the manor.
