Before Alcina could say anything, her phone rang. Ryuu saw Alcina frowning as she saw the number flashing on the phone screen. She took a deep breath before picking up the call.
"Allen?"
"Yes, I have reached. I'm absolutely alright."
"Yeah."
"I'm sorry for ditching the date but I promise I will be present at the next one."
"Yeah, I will. You too take care of yourself." With this, she hung up the call.
"Who was on the call?" Alcina turned to find a dark expression creeping on Ryuu's face. His voice was laced with warning and threat.
"My blind date," Alcina said genuinely. "I have to ditch him in the middle of the date."
"Cia," Ryuu growled. "Why do you need to go on blind dates?"
"I have been trying to live a normal life," Alcina didn't know why she was providing him justification. He could go to hell for all he wanted. She shouldn't care about him. Yet, here she was ready to nurse his every disease. He was married to someone else. She needed to remind herself of that.
Ryuu leaned ahead to caress her face but she dodged it. She hardened her resolve not to be a third party in his marriage. She didn't want to be called a homewrecker so she wanted to maintain distance from him. But every time, Fate would toss her back into his life.
"Ryuu," Alcina whispered, her soft green eyes locked onto his whiskey eyes. "Every time you are close to me, I have to remind myself that you are someone else now. I don't want to be called a mistress or a homewrecker. You know when I saw you two exiting the civil bureau office holding marriage certificates in hands, I realized that I was the biggest fool. We called each other enemies. But what enemies spend decades by each other's side, making sure they are happy and living well? I hate Xiuying with every fibre of my being. I hate you more for choosing her over me. You never said that you have any kind of feelings for me. Yet, I'm feeling betrayed. Like you only belong to me. But you do not.
So, consider it my last favour to you and your clan who gave me shelter and skill to survive when I needed them the most."
"After that?" Ryuu whispered back.
"After that, you will never see me again. I'll make my home again with someone who doesn't mind who I am or what I do to survive," Alcina honestly replied to him. "I deserve a normal life too. I'm tired of planning and plotting. I will tell the truth to Ah-Jie soon. And then, I will be gone from all your lives."
"What happened to my Cia, Alcina?" Ryuu asked as his voice grew soft. "Why don't you trust me one last time?"
"There is no your Cia anymore since the day she was forgotten because of another woman," Alcina answered as tears leaked from the corner of her life. "I'm doing the last favour, not to you but for me, Ryuu because I can't see my only love cursed to death. I'm begging my heart not to trust you again. But this stupid heart insists on going back to you and trusting you blindly like always."

"Shift to bed. Let me do a thorough check-up," Alcina said and Ryuu shifted to the bedroom. Ryuu's team of doctors was also there as called by her on the way to his place. Currently, they were in the main Tang Palace. The place where he should be residing but for some reason he wasn't living here after his marriage.
Alcina injected him with some medicine and as a result, he was asleep. Once, they were done with his check-up. Doctors looked at Alcina with an odd expression.
"Did he take the medication I prescribed him last time?" Alcina asked the doctors. They had their heads hung down. Very well. She got her reply.
"Do you remember that you still work on my orders?" Alcina growled. They were very much familiar with her real temper. She wasn't just short-tempered. She was worse when provoked. Especially when the issue revolved around Ryuu's health.
"Miss Alcina, we did everything in our power but Lord Ryuu didn't take his medicines on time. He said he couldn't let his father or someone from the family know that he is ill. And that's the reason he forbade us from entering the mansion," One of them said with a stammering voice.
"So, you will let him die?" Alcina said with a very calm voice. The more calm Alcina was, the more dangerous she was.
"Miss--"
"Each of you is suspended. Scram! Don't let me see your faces!"
Alcina took several deep breaths to calm down her raging emotions. With a glance at the unconscious man, she sat on the edge of the bed, her eyes fixed on his pale sleeping face. She had told him before that if she poisoned him it could backfire on his health but this beautiful stubborn man never listened to her. Did he ever listen to her? No. And only Lord knew when he would.
His accident in Georgia wasn't a minor one. And Long Jie and Feng Siyan knew it too. So, when they announced Lord Tang to be dead they couldn't think that it could be faux. But as a medical expert, she knew how deep that accident had affected Ryuu's health. She still regret poisoning him. Although the poison was nothing dangerous and she had also given him the antidote at the right time, it still affected his health.
If he hadn't been so willful and stayed in London for his complete recuperation, he would have been fine now.
All his subordinates shake like a trembling leaf in front of him. She couldn't even blame doctors when he was the one to blame.
He knew how to take care of everyone, but who the hell was here to take care of him here?
Taking out his phone from his pocket, she unlocked the phone. Still, surprised that her iris could still unlock hednal phone. Next, she dialed the number of the only person who could make the almighty Lord Tanh/Ryuu obey doctors orders.
"Master--"
"Alcina."
"What do you want, Alcina? And why are you with Master again?" Feng Siyan gritted out.
"Come back by his side again. And make sure he doesn't die," Alcina directly came to the point.
"What do you mean?" Using death and Feng Siyan in a single sentence was enough for Feng Siyan to drop all the hate for Alcina for the time being.
"He is gravely ill. And none of his subordinates is gutsy enough to feed him medicines on time," Alcina told Feng Siyan the matter.
"I'll be there as soon as possible. But first, let me make security arrangements for you and little Princess," Feng Siyan said before disconnecting the call.
With an evil grin, Alcina glanced at Ryuu. "My Lord, let's see how you throw tantrums like your daughter. Sigh. I should be given an award for dealing with daughter and father."
