The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife
Chapter 220 - Cursed Painting And Cursed PainterMing Xiuying looked at the foreign woman in shock. What did she mean by it? Who wanted to kill her? No. No. It had to be a coincidence only.
Therefore, she chose to not say anything and kept on walking. They finally reached the lady's private room and she gave Xiuying a dress to change.
Ming Xiuying was relieved as she saw a normal piece of cloth the lady had given to her to change.
"Thank you, Miss." Xiuying thanked her and both of them came out of her room.
As they exited the room, they were shocked to see a commotion that had risen outside the washroom which Xiuying earlier came out of.
"Xiuying!" Su Nia's anxious voice was heard.
"Are you alright?" Su Nia asked in concern and examined her body up and down to see any injury. She was relieved to see her alive and well.
"What happened?" Ming Xiuying asked in perplexion. Why were these people gazing at her weirdly?
"We heard you were bitten by a snake in the washroom and came to look for you." One of the ship staff spoke. He was a man who would probably be in his late fifties but was kind enough to give her medicine to treat her seasickness. Though the medicines didn't work, still she was glad to receive them.
However, his words did shock her to the core. What did he mean by his words? And most importantly, who told them that she was bitten by the snake?
As much as she remembered, neither she nor the weird lady talked about the snake incident with either of them. Then, how did they know about the snake incident?
"Did you forget the snake in the washroom?" Leaning behind, Xiuyinga asked the weird lady the question in a whisper.
The lady grunted at her idiocy. "The Vipera is still with me. If you want I can show you."
Xiuying shook her head. There was no way in hell she was going to be that damn snake again. If not for this weird lady, the snake would have sent her to hell by now.
It didn't matter what the snake would have done to her or how these people came to know about it. However, it was now crystal clear that she was indeed schemed against.
"Could it be true that the exhibition was indeed cursed as they were saying in the tabloids?" Another one whispered.
"Did you hear about it too? Initially, I thought someone was throwing mud at her name but now it seems everything that the tabloid said was true…"
"I think we should return the paintings we purchased."
"You're right! "
"Let's boycott Ming Xiuying!"
"Yes! Yes!"
"Let's boycott the cursed Ming Xiuying and her cursed paintings!"
Everyone standing there had something to talk about her and unfortunately, all of them were talking ill of her.
Ming Xiuying who originally didn't want to dwell on the fact that someone was conspiring against her, now was confident that someone was certain behind this matter. Firstly, someone sent a deadly snake to the same washroom she went to and now they were talking ill about her.
And as for the tabloid, from the last few months, someone was deliberately making things difficult for her. Every week there would be one or two tabloids present about her. Sometimes calling her paintings cursed and sometimes calling herself cursed, but she never cared as fame came with enemies.
This time that person has crossed all the limits and was actually daring to send a snake to kill her. She wouldn't remain silent like earlier.
"Are you even hearing what you are saying?" Ming Xiuying glanced at them, a look of disgust present in her eyes. "Cursed painter and her cursed painting. Woah. Do you know how much money these gossip channels earn by spouting nonsense?"
"Miss Mo, aren't you a model? questioned Xiuying. "You must know yourself about the reality behind these gossip channels. Just because someone is fanning the rumors doesn't mean they are always correct. Try looking at the big picture behind it."
Everyone present there felt ashamed. Certainly, what nonsense were they sprouting about?
"Miss Ming, even if we agree that the tabloids were nothing but rumors then what about the deadly snake that was found in the bathroom?" One of the clients asked her.
The young man who raised the question was no one else but Fang Qiu. He was the young master of a second-generation rich family who was quite fond of art apart from his usual squandering ways. He was one of the top customers of Xiuying and so she felt like giving him a little explanation.
"Mr. Fang, that's what I have been wondering about," said Xiuying as she glanced at him.
"Firstly, you all raised a commotion here about a snake, and secondly, where is the snake you all are talking about? I have yet to see it."
Fang Qiu threw her a questioning gaze. "Are you saying that there was no snake in the washroom?"
Ming Xiuying scoffed. "Of course...if there was, wouldn't I have seen it as well?"
Beside her, the tall lady who was watching the entertainment snow snickered.
"Then why were we told that you were bitten by the snake?" Feng Qiu asked.
There was no way she would admit that there was indeed a snake inside the washroom. She has yet to find the culprit behind the conspiracy.
"Well...I didn't say anything about it." She shrugged her shoulders. " It's you people who are talking about the snake. I don't even know what it looked like. "
"All of you have heard that Miss Ming is fine and actually doing pretty well. So, please return to your room and we will be reaching the shore within the next hour. "
Su Nia took the initiative to send the people back as she didn't want to fan the matter anymore. And so everyone went back to their rooms leaving the three ladies behind.
Xiuying turned towards Su Nia and spoke. " Who on earth was giving rise to such rumors?"
"I don't know about it either. I was looking for Anning when I found out you were bitten by a snake. Trust me, I was truly shocked to hear that," answered Su Nia.
"Speaking of Chen Anning, where is she?" Su Nia spoke with a frown. " It's quite strange that she was not the original one to raise a commotion about this matter first. "
Xiuying found it strange too and looked at Su Nia in bewilderment. It was indeed shocking.
"Where is Yusheng?" Xiuying asked her.
Huo Yusheng and Ming Xiuying were childhood sweethearts. They were engaged to each other at a very young age and like other childhood sweethearts, they were very much in love with each other. He would always support her no matter what. There hadn't been a show where he didn't accompany her.
"Sister Nia, why don't you look for them?" Xiuying asked her in concern. Could it be that the person who wanted to harm her decided to target Yusheng and Anning too?
God. Please save them.
"Don't worry, Yingying. I will look for them. Why don't you stay here and wait for me to call you? You look quite pale and weak right now." Su Nia suggested.
Although Xiuying wanted to go after her, she still nodded.
She walked backward and collided with another figure which reminded her that there was still another lady who was present there.
"What happened?" The lady asked her indifferently, her tall body leaning against the wall. As Xiuying looked at her closely, she noticed that the lady's tongue was pierced.
"I feel like my life is suddenly changing," replied Xiuying. She didn't know why she said that but her heart was convinced with the words her mouth uttered.
"Little girl, life keeps on changing. You must wait for the surprises or shocks that are waiting for you in the future," the tall woman told her as she tossed chewing gum in her mouth.
"What are you? A psychic? " She couldn't help but ask.
The woman laughed at her question. "In your case? Yeah. I can predict your future. "
Xiuying blinked at her. Indeed, she was a weird woman but whatever she was...she sure was interesting… There was something about her forest green eyes...they looked beautiful, sure...but they also looked poisonous just like.. that Vipera.
"Then, I will have to trouble you to predict my future."
The lady stood straighter and stared at her meaningfully. "For that, you have to answer my question first. How would you punish the woman who dared to covet your man?"
"Death. Her death in the most brutal way possible," the reply came from Xiuying. She didn't know that such thought existed in her heart but...she just said it aloud and that too to a complete stranger.
The lady laughed at her response and shook her head in amusement. Although her clothes were odd, still the elegance in her actions was still not hidden.
"Then...your stars show me a woman… No, two women. One of them is surely your greatest enemy and the second one with the most unusual eyes...she would either be your greatest savior or your greatest enemy...the choice is up to your actions."
