Far away from the violent and vicious lifestyle of Xins, a young girl was feeling the sea breeze against her skin. It was calming and soothing.
The sea was silent like her disposition right now, but deep inside like her, it was stirring in turbulence just like her heart.
She was dressed in a pastel pink-colored summer dress, standing on the very rim of the deck on the cruise ship. Her hands were tightly holding the railings. She seemed as if she was a graceful goddess drawn on the canvas.
Her name was Ming Xiuying. The to-be bride of Tang Ryuu aka Xin Ryuu.
As Zhenyi had said that she was beautiful, it was absolutely true and her beauty was just very ethereal.
"Yingying!"
A voice suddenly called her out of a dream. She turned back to find her agent, Su Nia, standing near her. Su Nia's hands were placed on her hips, a scowl marred on her perfect brows. Xiuying could tell that she was angry with her, and in all honesty, she had all the reasons to be.
Inside, the exhibition of her paintings was held and here, she was away from all the people, enjoying the sea breeze.
What was worse, her body was drained of puking whatever she had eaten in the last twenty-four hours. She was seasick, and the not so mere fact was not hidden from anyone, but they all still insist on an exhibition on water. And now it was not her fault that she had spent the majority of her time vomiting her guts out rather than inside with the clients.
"Yingying, do you even remember that inside your paintings are exhibited?" Su Nia asked angrily.
Indeed Su Nia was angry. Just because Ming Xiuying was a famous artist, she had no right to act all arrogant and haughty.
However, the reality was far from it.
"I do, but trust me, you don't want me puking inside on the guests, do you?" Ming Xiuying causally asked her agent.
"Ming Xiuying, do you have any idea how much struggle I have to do to take you to this position? I made you what you are today and now you're talking like this to me!" Su Nia was enraged. How dare she!
Surely, It was because of Su Nian, Xiuying was now a renowned figure in her profession, but it would be wrong to say it was solely because of her and Xiuying's talent had nothing to do with it.
Xiuying was a talented painter and there was no denying it.
"Really Sister Nia?" Xiuying snorted as if she had heard a joke. "You didn't make me, my art did. My talent did, not you. I would have gotten famous even without you."
"Xiuying, you have to go inside. You can't let Anning take all the care of the clients, and where is your fiance?" Su Nia changed the approach. She hadn't expected the ever-numb Xiuying to speak to her like she did today. "Your mother won't be happy."
She reminded Xiuying.
Chen Anning was Ming Xiuying's cousin who was like a friend to her. Chen Anning was the complete opposite of her. Where Xiuying was reserved and a little introverted, Chen Anning was a social butterfly. She was always the life of every party and event. So, it was not a surprise to both of them that Anning was handling her clients.
And to speak of her mother...she was quite a specimen.
'When has my mother ever been satisfied with me?' It was on the tip of her tongue but she refrained from asking.
Xiuying nodded and went inside to take care of her own matter.
A few hours later, the exhibition ended and the sun was almost due to settling when she came out with her agent.
"I still can't believe this exhibition was even more successful than the last one. Your hard work has been paying off." Su Nia said excitedly and hugged her.
"Well...earlier you had a different opinion," XiuYing said, rolling her eyes.
"Yingying, whether you accept or not, but I have used my sweat and blood behind you all these years and I can't bear to see you distracted from your real goal. "
"My real goal?" Xiuying asked her. " What's my real goal, sister Nia?"
"To be always on the top," came the reply.
"Of course," Xiuying said with a meaningful smile.
She still couldn't believe she had sold all her paintings. This exhibition had been one of the most successful trips this year for Xiuying. Her popularity was growing every day. She had never imagined even in her wildest dreams that the hobby she chose to escape the real world would one day make her world-famous. But here she was living her dream, and not only this, people who live halfway across the world wished to purchase her paintings.
What else she could ask for!
People didn't know her because of who her father was, but because of her. She was topping her industry and that's what she needed. Always be on the top. By hook or by crook.
She left Su Nia outside the exhibition room and came to one of the public washrooms to freshen herself up. She was not feeling too well right now. She was exhausted. Mentally and physically.
She was rinsing her face when another figure entered the washroom. It was a tall figure she could detect in the shadow. She turned to find that the figure belonged to a woman who was washing her hands next to her.
The people on the cruise were mainly her clients, and it seems she was one of them. So, she gave her a small smile, and the other woman smiled in return.
And when she returned her smile, she noticed her features. The girl had forest green eyes and a dimple on one of her cheeks. But what was so catchy about her was her hair and her clothes.
