Thanks to the leveling-up speed, Aion was having second doubts regarding his choice of focusing on the Lancer class. Then again… it will take a while to improve the next class after necromancer…
Although he had many doubts in his mind, after sleeping for just four hours, Aion woke up feeling quite refreshed. His mind had also got sharper as well… to the point that he began to practice as soon as he woke up.
First of all, Aion began to cover his hands with several layers of mana… things got tough after the third since the control over them became quite difficult since the mana in the layers prevented him from doing that like barricades.
Still, he kept going until he learned the trick to expand the first layer and move it above while keeping a link between the new and the old layer… after that, Aion began to use his magic to cover his hands with elemental magic without hurting himself. Fire magic was the best option when it came to that since the punishment was immediate… just covering his hands once was already troublesome enough, but at least Aion made some progress.
"We are ready to move, but we can wait if you are preparing for something," Sauros said.
"No, this will take a while," Aion explained.
"I see… anyway, to make things easier for us, Seris made some rings that will create a thin barrier around us against the freezing effect of the next area," Sauros said while passing the ring to Aion. "It won't consume our mana, and thanks to that, the effects aren't that powerful."
"Well, we don't have any more room to spend even more mana, after all," Aion said.
"This labyrinth is really messed up, and it has been clearly designed in order not to give people a chance to survive for long in the fourth area," Seris said. "This kind of environment isn't what I was expecting, considering the things we read in the books."
"I am sure few people can learn everything they need from books," Aion said. "Anyway, I guess it is time to move on."
The others nodded, and then Aion took the lead as the frontline of the group. It seemed that the other two were sharper than usual, and thanks to that, as soon as the next skeletons showed up, they were killed with the bullets in their heads.
The group began to move once Aion made the bodies disappear. The same thing happened several times more until Aion began to notice that the temperature was dungeon even more… when he turned around to look at the others, their lips were already blue.
"It seems that the more they are killed, the more they make the temperature drop here," Aion said.
"...Is that so?" Sauros asked.
That was the only thing Sauros could say… Seris didn't even want to open her mouth to complain. Both of them had their pride and didn't want to give up so soon. Aion couldn't say much either since he had increased his mentality to endure the cold…
Aion also tried to make the cold mist move away from them, but that only made things colder ahead. Hurrying up to kill and absorb the bodies of the monsters wasn't helping much, either…
In the end, Aion sighed and then changed to the necromancer class, and using his mana, he controlled all the mist around and condensed it in a single spot until it became a small sphere of ice… that improved the conditions a lot. Still, he had to do it pretty often.
"You saved our asses again…" Sauros said and then sighed. "I don't know why, but I know that you wanted to keep training with the spear, so my apologies for getting in the way of your plans."
"It is fine. Either way, the cold is also starting to get to me," Aion shrugged. "Besides, crushing the plans of the labyrinth head-on is pretty satisfying."
To save even more time, Aion crested an earth platform and then began to fly while carrying them as fast as he could. The skeletons appeared already running away, but Seris and Sauros had a hard time hitting them since the platform was pretty steady. Besides, Aion could just focus on dodging their attacks instead of blocking now.

You obtained 150 experience points.
As expected, Aion was getting even less experience now at the cost of gaining time. Still, he could save that problem for later…
Even with all his mana and the fact that he was also meditating while flying, Aion had to stop after two hours to focus on recovering his mana. Still, despite that, he felt that it was fine since they could move three times faster while flying. So, they covered a larger distance in less time.
"Urgh! This is so frustrating!" Seris said while almost pulling out her hair. "Why am I even less useful than a fifteen-year-old boy?"
"Sorry, but I guess I am built differently," Aion said with a prideful smile on his face.
"Argh, that attitude!" Seris said while her eyes were rolling. "And you even have the nerve to tell me not to try too hard!"
"Well, one must recognize their limits," Aion said. "Don't think too much about it. If it weren't for you guys, I would never have the chance to come here, so I think that this whole situation is me saying thank you."
While Aion was being sincere, it also felt like he was mocking them. With that complicated feeling, they couldn't say much. There was truth in his words as well… he was truly built differently. It was almost impossible to find someone as good as the Millerians when it came to magic, and Aion was the final heir of the royal family. At that point in time, it was more than clear that his mother wouldn't have any other kids…
