While Aion didn't have time to waste since his mother was nearby, he didn't have many options either. While almost out of mana, Aion raised his shield and then blocked all of the attacks. The surprise attack got him, but while knowing that they were coming, Aion could prepare for each impact and wait for the enemy to run out of mana…
At first, Aion thought that it was the best plan of action considering his own lack of mana, but after five minutes of seeing the enemy spamming that attack every second, Aion realized that it wouldn't work. What helped him confirm that was his left arm that was hurting like hell…
"If I land, his attacks will hit me faster. If I keep flying, I will eventually run out of mana…" Aion thought. "Fucking hell…"
In which case, soon Devotion was going to be canceled for lack of mana or due to the reason that Aion's health was reaching dangerous levels… in the end, he decided to take the least troublesome end.
When Aion landed, he prepared himself and used Inner Force. However, he was forced to stop when he felt a weird taste in his mouth, and then his body got cold… his interior began to burn even while he felt so cold outside. He immediately understood that his mother had been poisoned…
Aion never succeeded in doing that, but Rage was activated. At the same time, and with the help of Inner Force, he charged at the enemy like a missile. The cloaked man tried to hit him with numerous ice pillars, but for the first time, he wasn't fast enough to stop Aion. The cloaked man panicked and made several earth pillars emerge in front of him. Aion could have run to the side and then attacked the enemy, but he charged straight into the pillars.
The obstacles stopped him, but they cracked so much that they began to fall toward the enemy as well. The cloaked mage moved to the side by controlling the ground beneath him, but then he saw Aion throwing his shield toward his face.
The enemy raised an earth pillar to block it, and he succeeded, but then he also fell for the same trick that many of Aion's targets fell… they lost sight of him for a moment. He only noticed about Aion's approach when he noticed a shadow approaching from above. The earth mage jumped backward and fired another earth pillar at him, but then Aion used Inner Force to its utmost limits before throwing the sword at the enemy's stomach.
The earth mage summoned an earth wall using his own mana since it would be faster than using the earth around, but he didn't make it thicker fast enough. In the end, the sword pierced the wall and his stomach. It didn't kill him instantly, but the pain made him flinch for a moment, and that had been enough for Aion to approach and then smash his head with his right knee.

Aion didn't waste time and then stored the body in his inventory before grabbing his shield and sword again. Despite the fact that his arm was hurting like hell, Aion ignored the pain and entered the temple. The interior wasn't dark since Aion could see some yellow crystals around, emitting a lot of light. Although he was wary of traps, he didn't slow down and advanced. Much to Aion's surprise, the interior looked well-preserved despite being buried in a mountain, but the real problem was that it was apparently much bigger than he had imagined.
After running toward the other side of the temple, Aion found a massive staircase going downward. He quickly jumped on it and then began to go downstairs… At first, Aion didn't see anything around. However, after a while, he could see in the distance a group of blond individuals in front of the staircase, and a couple of meters ahead, Aion saw a table where his mother was.
When they felt Aion's bloodlust, the enemies turned around and then began to fire electric arrows toward him. Those were hard to dodge since they were faster than usual, but Aion just blocked them with his shield and endured the fact that his wounded arm was also going to suffer more.
The survivors of Artemisia's former kingdom began to run around without any order or goal, or so Aion thought before he landed in front of the table where his mother was. He could tell that the enemies didn't want to fight. They probably had never been to fight in their lives. Aion was itching to kill them. However, he controlled himself when he saw one of the blond guys grabbing a small statue on the other side of the room… soon after it, he tossed it on the ground…
Aion didn't like that. He knew that the enemies wouldn't do something meaningless. The statue hit the ground and cracked a little. At the same time, the entire mountain began to tremble. Soon after, the space began to distort where the statue was until a silver portal appeared. Aion thought that those assholes were going to disappear soon, but they didn't jump in the portal… instead of that, something left it when it became big enough, a massive claw covered in ice.
Aion knew that something bad was about to happen, and he couldn't let his blood rush to his head. He flew to grab the statue on the ground, and then he approached to get his mother. The enemies didn't even try to stop him. Instead, they watched in shock as an ice dragon crossed the portal.
"I really don't have enough energy to face a dragon now…" Aion thought as he flew while carrying the unconscious Artemisia in his arms.
Aion was planning to leave the ice dragon trapped inside the barrier, but then the whole mountain began to tremble even more, and he confirmed that such a thing wouldn't be possible…
