Aion began his preparations to move. While he was doing that, he wondered if the plan of dueling them would work… they weren't as stupid as Caelis, so perhaps it wouldn't work. Maybe he needed to think of some other plans...
"Are you certain that the port will be fine?" Artemisia asked.
"Yeah, you don't need to check that place," Aion said while worrying that his mother might end up seeing the skeletons. "I put several layers of traps there to get the enemies, so no one should approach it recklessly until I deactivate them."
"In that case, I will help defend the dungeon in case the enemies attack," Artemisia declared. "Captain Jairo is really scared of you, so he will follow my orders."
Aion didn't like the idea that his mother would be in the line of attack by the enemies. Still, her powers would come in handy. Not to mention, Aion's monsters will be nearby to protect her… the only question is what will happen if her people come for her again.
"Don't worry too much about me, and don't forget that I taught you everything you know about magic," Artemisia said. "While your powers surpass mine, I have more experience. In fact, I should be the one who is going to be worried since you are going to face enemies worse than Caelis."
"Fair enough, although I think that they won't be much of a problem in front of the might of my big brain," Aion said.
"Don't get overconfident…" Artemisia said.
In the end, Aion couldn't treat his mother like she was made of glass. The first attack traumatized her a little since she didn't expect to see her people again and much less in that situation. So, she will react accordingly if something happens.
"My mother will take command of things here while I will help our allies south of here, " Aion said to Jairo after he told him about the fall of that walled city. "What are you going to do?"
"If the ma'am is your representative, I will make sure to make everyone follow her rules and protect her with our lives," Jairo said.
"That is the spirit," Aion said. "I will return as soon as possible."
Aion left the mansion and then began to fly south. Although he won't be able to use his necromancy skills, he will have to fight with that class since he can't leave the port unprotected.
"Although flying like this isn't bad, I should learn the skill properly to become as fast as I can…" Aion thought
Aion had been improving his ability to meditate while controlling the earth platform that he was using to fly. However, he still had a long way to go since he had to stop every forty or so minutes. Fortunately, all that fighting and training sure was making his class stronger.

Thanks to the increase in his magic power, Aion could fly a lot faster than before. His control over his mana also improved thanks to the daily training drastically, so he figured out that he could reach his destination in half a day. He tried to speed up a bit since arriving at night would be troublesome. Still, then he realized that the enemies wouldn't notice that someone suspicious had arrived, so he decided to use that in his favor.
It looked like the enemies had invaded the city two days ago. Still, they had already overtaken the whole place and also mounted a camp outside in order to move when necessary. They also had secured a route for their allies to come and enter the city. It was hard to tell their numbers, but it was clear that they had more than five thousand soldiers stationed outside and some more inside.
"They don't want to use the walls in their favor… they want to crush the spirits of the soldiers of the region with a direct fight," Aion thought.
It didn't look like the walls suffered much damage, but from above, Aion could see a lot of blood on the top of the walls… for the guards there to suffer so much damage… Aion could only imagine that the archer did that. Regardless, a few kilometers south of the city, Aion found the camp of those that managed to escape from the city. It seemed that a lot of the inhabitants were nearby, waiting for their homes to be reclaimed.
In any case, Aion landed in a place where no one could see him, and then he walked toward the camp. The guards on the lookout noticed his approached and raised their weapons to confront him. Aion put down his hood and then identified himself. One of the guards recognized him and his armor, so he alerted the others.
"I received the message about the capture of the city, and I have come to help. Who is in charge here?" Aion asked.
"Lord Richard Histart, the guild master Jagger, and the headmaster of the magic school, the flame Witch Vanessa," One of the guards replied.
Aion almost clicked his tongue… one of the morons lost his city and still was calling the shots. The other was a hot-blooded moron that couldn't let go of the past, and the last was someone Aion had never met before. Things sure were going to be complicated. Since he left his territory, he had to follow the lead of the people there…
