When it comes to nobles, the ceremony wasn't that complicated. The groom was supposed to wait for the bride in one of the most important locations at the place the ceremony was being held and then wait for the owner of the place to show up with his sword. After that, the father of the bride and the bride would head together to that same place, and then he would leave the bride with the groom, and then they would make an oath while touching the sheathed sword.

The owner of the castle was the king, and so he was also the father of the bride, so some things had to be changed. Vangel entered the throne room while holding a golden sword in both hands and then proceeded to the front of the throne, where he would wait for his father to come.

It didn't take long for the king, and the princess shows up. The king had gotten even weaker than Aion recalled due to his age, so they approached slowly. As usual, he was wearing some fancy clothes, his crown, and a red cloak. While the princess was wearing a white dress and some flower ornaments on her tied-up hair. Come to think of it, Aion didn't see the queen until now, so he wondered if something had happened to her.

Regardless, the princess was all smiles. Come to think of it, Aion probably had to call her by her name or at least think since it was hard for him to imagine interaction with her. Her name was Selene…Selene Zaera. She was his sister-in-law now... it was a weird feeling since she was in that position in the family, but still was daughter of the king.

"How lewd, even though they are marrying today, they shouldn't hold hands right now…" Aion thought when the king let go of his daughter, and then she held Henri's hand.

Putting Aion jokes aside, he was a bit interested in the oath that they were going to make. It seemed like a tradition only to that kingdom, and while he couldn't imagine himself marrying with anyone in that kingdom, it would be interesting to know. The king received his golden sword and then extended it to both of them, touching it while holding hands.

"I swear that this day and until the last of my days, I will be hers, and she will be mine. I swear to protect her with all my being while I have air on my breast. No evil shall approach her and our descendants. When tired, I will be her resting place. When sickened, I will be her strength, and when old, I will love her in the same way as I loved her in my youth. I swear this in front of my family and her family," Henri said.

"I swear that this day and until the last of my days, I will be his, and he will be mine. I swear to protect him with all my being while I have air on my breast. No evil shall approach him and our descendants. When tired, I will be his resting place. When sickened, I will be his strength, and when old, I will love him in the same way as I loved him in my youth. I swear this in front of my family and his family," Selene said.

Those were some heavy words… They would be even heavier if Aion didn't know that polygamy was allowed in the kingdom. Still, it was hard to imagine that Henri would get other wives. That certainly would be a humiliation for the princess. Still, Aion shook those thoughts out of his head. It wasn't time to think about that.

The bride and then groom kissed, and then everyone in the room began to clap. When the clapping ended, they headed to the exit of the room. The party wasn't over yet, and it seemed that they were only moving to their new home in a week, so the festivities would last for a few days, but they still would talk with the invited people for a few hours.

"If this were Earth, they would spend the whole night hearing dirty jokes from us, but I should save mine for a later date," Aion thought.

Aion didn't notice it, but the girl and their mothers were crying a bit. Lexus also tried to sneakily sniff in order not to make anyone notice it. He was a softie as well… the boys looked fine, they weren't in a hurry to get married, and they weren't particularly interested in the princess. If they were, that would have made one hell of a story…

Once they returned to the previous room, those two began to talk with all of their acquaintances. While they were waiting for a chance, Aion's group was visited by Vangel. The king was nowhere in sight, but considering how tired he looked before, he probably shouldn't party that often. Regardless, once he greeted everyone, Vangel talked with Aion.

"It has been a while, I never had the chance to congratulate you in the tournament, but I also owed you some thanks for not making me look ridiculous," Vangel said. "I entered planning to win or to lose only to the winner, after all."

"Is that so," Aion said. "You caused me a lot of headaches back then, so I had to be quite rough on you. I thought you would have some ill feelings because of it."

"Nah, I won't say that I am totally fine with losing, but I respect the result," Vangel said. "Let's have a rematch someday. This time, I will win."

Aion felt like sighing… that prince sure was troublesome. Once again, Aion realized that he wanted to keep his distance from the royal family, aside from what the king had done, making his mother a prisoner. Now, the prince wanted to use his fame to elevate himself… Aion wouldn't gain anything by fighting against him again, so he had no plans to do so.
