"Ugh – " Cheng Sheng grunted as he slowly opened his eyes. He felt his head is heavy and is painful.
"Shizun!" Fei Yinzi called.
Cheng Sheng's eyes snapped open and he started when he heard Fei Yinzi's voice. He turned and looked at his disciple. "… are you still acting?" he asked.
"… huh?" Fei Yinzi muttered and froze.
Cheng Sheng stared at him. "… did you forget what you called me last night?" he asked.
Fei Yinzi's eyes widened. Suddenly, he blushed. "That…" he muttered.
Cheng Sheng's eyes narrowed. "Why you bast – " he said when Fei Yinzi suddenly spoke.
"I… I am sorry, shi… fu…" Fei Yinzi said and lowered his head.
Cheng Sheng suddenly froze. "… what?" he muttered as his eyes widened while he looked at Fei Yinzi.
"I called shi… fu 'shizun' again." Fei Yinzi said and raised his head, cautiously looking at Cheng Sheng. "Shiz… shifu hates it when I call you 'shizun', right? That is why you are angry to me today, since you heard me called you that last night." He explained and lowered his head in self-blame.
… what the fck?! Cheng Sheng inwardly cursed as his face paled when he realized what Fei Yinzi meant. That's what he is embarrassed about?! Not that he called me 'Sheng' last night?! He thought, shocked. He called me 'Sheng'… it's because he is Fei Yin, right?! But now… now – "… ugh!" he grunted in frustration. "Get out!" he yelled.
Fei Yinzi's face paled and realized that Cheng Sheng has it full of him calling him 'shizun'. "… yes…" he answered and left with his head hanging low.
Cheng Sheng slapped his forehead. "What the heck…" he muttered as he weakly lied on the bed. "Isn't he Yin?" he asked. "He called me by my name last night… I heard it…" he muttered as he closed his eyes, feeling tired. "Damn it… was I just hallucinating it? But…" he spoke when he remembered something. Then, he sighed. "Fck." He cursed as he punched the pillow.
Suddenly, there was a knock. "Cheng Sheng. Are you now awake?" it was Jing Cheng.
Cheng Sheng immediately picked up the black ribbon on the bedside table and tied his hair before he wore his outer robe. "Come in." he said.
The door opened. "So, you're really awake." Jing Cheng said.
"What?" Cheng Sheng looked at him.
"Last night, the demon transformed into a giant plant." Jing Cheng spoke. "Thinking that it might be useful, we cut all of its leaves, which were its hands, feet and head when it transformed into a human." He explained. Then, he suddenly paused. "There's also its blood... I mean, juice. We collected it in case you might be interested in it." He said.
If the plant demon was still in its human form when they killed it, then it will be its blood it will spill. But, since the demons are stronger when they are in their original form, then it naturally will transform into a plant. So, it will spill its juice instead of blood.
"Thank you for your hard work." Cheng Sheng said.
"Are you going back to the Xinfaxian now?" Jing Cheng asked.
Cheng Sheng knows that Jing Cheng is in a hurry to wake Jing Rui. "Yes." He answered. "But, I will be leaving my disciple here." He said.
"Huh? Why?" Jing Cheng asked.
"I told Ling Yun to be my disciple's sparring partner for a month. Then, I will award him if my disciple will become stronger." Cheng Sheng answered.
"Ling Yun…? But, earlier, I saw him looking in a bad mood." Jing Cheng said.
Cheng Sheng was surprised. "Why?" he asked.
"Ling Yun seems to be hostile towards your disciple." Jing Cheng answered.
Cheng Sheng's brows knitted. He didn't see Ling Yun being hostile to Fei Yinzi. Was Ling Yun hiding it before? But it doesn't seem right… suddenly, he realized something. "Did something happen last night?" he asked.
"Last night? Ah." Jing Cheng muttered when he remembered. "We saw your disciple was carrying you on your back while you are unconscious." He said, then paused. "But, before we left to kill the demon, it was Ling Yun that we left to look after you." He told him. He also finally realized it.
"So, something happened between Ling Yun and my disciple." Cheng Sheng frowned. "Damn brat… he must have done it intentionally so that he won't stay here for a month since Ling Yun can't be his sparring partner!" he said, angry.
Jing Cheng don't know what to say.
Cheng Sheng looked at him. "How about you have your disciples become my disciple's sparring partners?" he asked.
"Huh?" Jing Cheng was taken aback.
"Don't worry. Ling Yun and I's agreement will become your and I's agreement." Cheng Sheng said and told him about the Blood Nourishing Pills.
Jing Cheng suddenly feel tempted. Not only the Blood Nourishing Pills are valuable, but it is Cheng Sheng who is making it! They are definitely high-grade magic pills!
"So?" Cheng Sheng smiled.
"Deal." Jing Cheng answered.
"Then, I'll have to trouble you to give this to Ling Yun. Tell him it's my compensation for breaking our agreement." Cheng Sheng said and gave Jing Cheng a vial. "This is a healing tonic." He said. Then, he took out a bottle of magic pills. "This is the down payment. You'll get the remaining bottle of magic pills after one month." He told him.
"Good." Jing Cheng nodded. "Let me send you off." He told him. Someone has to activate the teleportation array.
Cheng Sheng nodded, and both of them left. Fei Yinzi didn't know that his master has already sold him off to Jing Cheng, and that he won't be seeing him after a month, in which Cheng Sheng have finished the cure for Jing Rui.
Sun Rong and Qie Shi, as well as Shu Mu and Xiao Le who already have left, already know that Cheng Sheng will depart today and return to Xinfaxian Sect to make a cure for Jing Rui. Right now, Sun Rong and Qie Shi are watching Ling Yun and Fei Yinzi glare at each other, and the tension is very intense.
"When the Intersect Competition arrives, I will challenge you to a duel. Be prepared!" Ling Yun said.
"I couldn't ask for more. How dare you touch my shizun with your filthy hands!" Fei Yinzi said.
Ling Yun said. "If there is anyone who isn't deserving here, it will be you!" he said. "You don't deserve to be senior's disciple!" he told him.
Fei Yinzi's sore spot was hit. But, he didn't back down. "And who are you to tell me that I don't deserve to be my shizun's disciple! You aren't worthy!" he told Ling Yun. "It is only him who can tell me if I don't deserve him!" he added.
Sun Rong and Qie Shi, as well as Jing Cheng who returned, heard the last sentence and suddenly felt something is off.
"… why do I feel…?" Qie Shi muttered as he looked at Sun Rong. Sun Rong looked back at him and their gazes are talking.
"Do you think that he is Fei Yin?" Jing Cheng directly asked.
"… ah." Sun Rong and Qie Shi felt enlightened.
Jing Cheng just smiled before he turned to the two disciples who are arguing. "Who knows?" he whispered to them.
Sun Rong's and Qie Shi's eyes brightened, as if looking for a gossip. "Where is Cheng Sheng?" they asked.
"I already sent him off." Jing Cheng answered, loud enough for the two disciples to hear it.
Fei Yinzi and Ling Yun froze and stiffly turned to Jing Cheng. "What…?" their eyes widened and shock.
Jing Cheng chuckled. "Ling Yun. Since you and Fei Yinzi can't be sparring partners anymore, I will have my disciples train with him." He said.
Fei Yinzi and Ling Yun then remembered that they will be dueling in the Intersect Competition.
"Here. His compensation to you." Jing Cheng said and gave the vial to Ling Yun.
Ling Yun's eyes brightened. He is obviously happy. Those who are watching him suddenly thought that he will still be happy even if it is a poison that Cheng Sheng will give him. Will he drink the poison, though? That's debatable.
After Ling Yun, who forgot to taunt Fei Yinzi because he was very happy, left, Jing Cheng turned to Fei Yinzi whose face is pale. "Abandoned disciple." He called, teasing him.
Fei Yinzi froze like a statue. Sun Rong, Qie Shi and Jing Cheng, for a moment, thought that he isn't breathing.
"Your master entrusted you to me for a month, and I will have my disciples become your sparring partner, one for each day." Jing Cheng spoke and patted Fei Yinzi's stiff shoulder.
Suddenly, his face softened. He can see himself in him, during that time when he was young and Jing Rui leaves him for him to train alone.
"If you care about your master that much, then do your best to not disappoint him. Make yourself strong enough to stand beside him. Only then you are worthy to be by his side."
