579 What a boring reques
After that incident with Louis Lu, Lexi headed back to the car where Victoria Tang waited for her anxiously.
"Lexi!" When Lexi was closed to the car, Victoria Tang abruptly hitched out and her eyes studied Lexi from head to toe.
"I told you it will be fine." Guessing her worry, Lexi smiled as she walked towards Victoria Tang.
Placing both her hands on Victoria Tang's shoulder, Lexi stared at her with worried eyes. "Vic, do you really have that small faith in Lou? Did you really think he would hurt me?"
"..." biting her bottom lip, Victoria Tang felt guilty for having such thoughts. She couldn't be blamed though as she was the first witness of the change in Louis Lu's behavior.
Lexi knew this fact hence, she wasn't disappointed in her. If anything, Lexi would wish that Victoria Tang could trust Louis Lu more... or rather, trust in the love they built with each other.
"You know, back when me and Ethan is starting, I had tons of doubts in him. I always observe him carefully to see if I'd see the signs to break up with him — I did see signs, a lot of them." Clearing her throat, Lexi stretched her lips into a smile as she confessed something she has told no one.
"But, you know, I never thought that most of those signs were the things that my mind just created. It was because of fear of my previous relationship. Thanks to a certain someone and the people around me, they pushed me to trust him a little and open my heart... and give myself a second chance." Lexi slightly squeezed Victoria Tang's shoulder as she offered a sweet smile.
"I'm glad I listened. If not, I could never imagine my life without him. Vic, trust Louis Lu more okay? Everything will be fine. Just take your time away from him as a time to meditate, heal, and have more time for yourself."
Lexi patted Victoria Tang's shoulder with a smile. "Help me with the luggage." Lexi said and headed to drag the suitcase towards the trunk.
Victoria Tang watched Lexi's figure. The lightness around her was reassuring, as if no matter how dark the world could be, Lexi's light would remain. Sure, Lexi wasn't the best and most positive person Victoria Tang had met, but Lexi was one of the realest people of all.
"Thank you," Victoria Tang whispered before a slight smile formed on the side of her lips. She then jogged toward Lexi and helped her with the suitcase.
After that, the two women hitched inside the car and sped away. Unbeknownst to them, Louis Lu was watching them from the gap of the curtain.
His gaze was mostly at Victoria Tang and a smile formed on the side of his lips when she cheered up a little. Whatever Lexi told her, Louis Lu was certain it was something he wouldn't want to hear.
After all, Lexi had become cheesy the longer she spent her time with Ethan Lu. Regardless, Louis Lu still commended the two for overcoming many obstacles together.
Lexi's words might be quite vague to him but thinking of his own son, Vincent Tang, Louis Lu hoped that he would be good friends with Evan and Lady Lara Lu. He hoped that their relationship wouldn't be so broken as what Louis Lu had with Dylan Lu.
Louis Lu knew that when he wished for something, it wouldn't just happened miraculously. He worked hard for it to have results.
Just then, Louis Lu placed his phone in front of his ear as it rang. It took a while before a lazy female voice answered it.
"Nope, I'm not doing it." Seraphina Yue's voice came from the other end of the line and instead of a pleasant greeting, she answered the request Louis Lu asked before they parted ways the last time.
"I'm not asking about that."
"Huh? Who is this?" Sensing the slight difference in Louis Lu's tone from his usual tone, Seraphina arched her brows as she humored.
"I'll be asking a favor for the last time — you won't owe me anything anymore after that." Ignoring her humoring, Louis Lu delved on the primary reason of his call. However, he couldn't really rely on the woman from the other end of the line as she would usually blabber nonsense.
"No, no, no. I'm not dismembering Dylan nor Lin, not interested — I can't bear to shatter my immaculate image." Shaking her head, Seraphina refused as she concluded on the request that this stingy guy was willing to call it quits on her.
Everyone knows that when someone asked Louis Lu a favor — especially money — the interest was frightening. It just so happened that Seraphina borrowed gambling money from him when she run out of cash. Therefore, she's now paying the price since she was bored with her uneventful life.
"Not that. I..." Louis Lu scoffed at the thought of the woman's immaculate image she was talking about. Still, he continued with his request and explained it to the woman.
"Ahh..." Nodding her head in understanding, Seraphina arched her brows again as she looked up as if pondering about something. "What a boring request." She then answered after a beat as she scrunched her nose up.
"Okay, whatever." Shrugging her shoulders, Seraphina Yue nonchalantly added. Just as she was about to cut the line, she heard Louis Lu say "thank you,". However, instead of feeling moved, she cringed.
"Lou, being human doesn't suit you. Please return to being a robot." Every word she said bore extra stress as she worded it loud and clear. The beeping sound then followed it. indicating the call ended.
Alas, instead of feeling offended, a faint chuckle escaped his mouth again. That woman would often tell him that. It was not like Louis Lu had taken it to the heart, but this reminded him of Victoria Tang.
"Your father's smile is like a precious gem. It takes time for one to see it, but it's worth it." In one of the occasion, Louis Lu overheard Victoria Tang as she conversed with their son.
