519 Best spy in the world
"Director Lu, there are still ways to get rid of that Engr. that master placed as his extra eyes. We just have to be wary for now and wait for the right time to strike." One of the executive directors said, making Edward Lu feel good about himself.
"Hmmph!" Still displeased, Dennis Lu fumed. "That brat had been acting too cocky! He is lucky that he wasn't in that plane crash!" He scoffed in dismay.
Ever since Ethan Lu took over the company, Edward Lu and his illegal deeds eventually put on a pause. After all, Ethan Lu's eyes were everywhere.
He already fired and even pressed charges in many of the employees — mostly, working under them to embezzle money. Fortunately, Dennis Lu was careful enough not to reveal that he was the mastermind of these corruptions inside the Lu Corporation.
After all, the money he had been embezzling was small amounts. They were too small that the company wouldn't even notice that they've been missing money. However, every small transaction, if it happened many times at the same time, it would accumulate a good amount.
And all those good days were put on a halt because Ethan Lu would literally kill them if he found out about it. Although they were upset, deep down, they were relieved that Ethan Lu hadn't caught them red-handed.
"Plane crash? Do you have anything to do with it?" Upon hearing that remark, Churu's interest was instantly piqued.
"Indeed, but Director Lu, even if he died in the plane crash, it will not benefit our Lu Corporation."
"I also heard that even before the official take over, Master had made his last will. Who knows who would receive all his shares and properties." One after another, each executive director that was inside Dennis Lu's office dropped their comments about the incident days ago.
When they heard the news about the said crash, it alarmed everyone in the Lu Corporation. Some were truly concerned about Ethan Lu's safety, others could not be bothered by him as they were more concerned about who would be the next master, and the rest were neutral and just waiting for the confirmation.
Edward Lu even fainted upon hearing the news. Thus, Lexi had to go to him and reassure him because Ethan Lu's phone was dead after their short conversation.
"Huh, even that woman thinks she's something." Dennis Lu recalled how Lexi acted as if she was officially the Madam of the family that night.
Just then, without short notice, the door abruptly opened, which startled their fragile hearts. Subconsciously, they turned their heads to the entrance and their eyes widened in disbelief.
There, Ethan Lu with his hand slid inside his pocket, smirked at them as a greeting. His expression gave off a sign of hearing their conversation, and also not — it was hard to distinguish! But what's clear to them was that Ethan Lu was more or less in a good mood.
"Whose woman?" Ethan Lu lazily entered the office as he glanced at Churu, sitting on top of the table.
"Woman?" Feigning innocence, Dennis Lu questioned as he automatically stepped aside to give the head seat to Ethan Lu.
Until now, Dennis Lu hated this every time. However, he couldn't retaliate without being cautious because deep down, he knew that Ethan Lu was only waiting for him to make a mistake.
"The woman that thinks she's something," Churu repeated what she heard which Ethan Lu copied, uttering the same exact words of Churu.
"The woman that thinks she's something." The corner of Ethan Lu's lips curled into a smirk upon witnessing the change in their expression.
Their complexion paled, as their eyes dimmed, and they were stunned. This office was soundproof, it was impossible for Ethan Lu to overhear them even if he stayed outside.
Unless he has planted a bug inside this office! Just that thought that struck them, each of them gasped.
They mostly talked about confidential matters inside this office. Hence, Dennis Lu had always had someone to check this office to make sure it was a safe place.
So, when did he put a bug in his office? Did he do it after the cleaning? Before? Or during? No one knows. Little did they know, Ethan Lu didn't need those things because he has the best spy in the entire world: a dumpling named Churu.
"M-master—"
"Whatever." Just as Dennis Lu stuttered, Ethan Lu waved his hands off and shrug the matter off. "Anyway, if Uncle can make time for me, I would like to discuss an important matter... privately." Ethan Lu scanned each old geezer's faces with a smile.
"Of course, yes, master. We can discuss our concern at some other time." One of the directors awkwardly chuckled before the other's remarks followed it.
With that said note, they stood from the seat and bowed at Ethan Lu, giving respect to their master before taking their leave in silence. Still, as they left, Ethan Lu discerned the obvious worry on their faces which made him and Churu smirk.
"Master, what is it that we need to discuss that you bothered to visit my office?" Anxious, Dennis Lu's heart raced a little. The last time Ethan Lu had his eyes on him, it cost his son's leg. Hence, Dylan Lu limped when he walks because he was beaten mercilessly.
Damn family rules.
"Mhmm..." Ethan Lu rubbed his chin as he pondered where to start. "Recently, I caught someone that threatened my wife." Setting his eyes on the clueless Dennis Lu, Ethan let out a sigh.
"What's that got to do with me?" Knitting his brows, Dennis Lu sensed that where Ethan Lu was going would be either bad or worse for him.
"Because he revealed something interesting." Ethan Lu chuckled, seeing that his poor ambitious uncle was being used as cannon fodder without realizing it. "Any idea who hired him?" Tilting his head to the side, Ethan asked.
Dennis Lu remained silent as he contemplated if he was suspecting him or not. It was hard to tell just by looking at Ethan Lu's deceiving expression.
"Rowan Go." Ethan Lu brightly grinned, as he uttered Dennis Lu's assistant's name who was just outside this office, clueless about the talk inside the four corners of the room.
