517 A mission from Ethan
Ethan Lu leaned his back against the executive chair. He looked at Churu who was lazily rolling on the top stack of documents he has to finish.
"What a boring life..." As Churu interfered with Ethan Lu's concentration, she shamelessly dawdled before she landed on the next pile of documents that were a little lower in level.
"What do you want me to do, Chacha? I have a family to support." Ethan Lu massaged his temples as he took a break from reviewing each document.
He was the one doing all the work and yet, by the looks of it, Churu seemed more tired than him. For Pete's sake! She did nothing but lie there and complain!
"First of all, I'm not Chacha." When Churu lied her back, she turned her head back, which could make her see him from an upside-down perspective. "Second, you have me in your system but, we would die with all these workloads!"
"Aya, get used to it." Ethan Lu responded to both of her replies. Well, he got used to calling him Chacha just because it sounded cuter. Moreover, he couldn't just ditch his work just because they were too much.
After all, he wasn't the old Ethan Lu that would run away whenever things get tough. Also, the company that he leads was huge. Hence, he needed to work extra smart and hard than most of the employees.
Just then, Ethan Lu heard a knock from outside before the door slowly opened, revealing Lyrick Jiang.
"Master, the initial investigation of the plane crash had shown results and it was due to a technical malfunction. We were still verifying the legitimacy of it." When Lyrick Jiang stood in front of the CEO's desk, he tipped his glasses and reported.
"Did they accepted our help?" Raising his brows, Ethan Lu inquired.
Although Ethan Lu was safe from that crash, he wanted to know if it was orchestrated or not. After all, Churu was clueless about it since she just arrived when he first encountered her. Thus, she couldn't tell.
Furthermore, Ethan Lu needed to make the people behind it pay if it was intentional. His instincts had told him that this wouldn't be the first one. If he has the system, that meant it wouldn't stop there.
At the very least, he somewhat uncovered Dylan Lu's motives. Which to say, Ethan Lu had a lead and could use him to discover more— that includes his accomplices.
"Yes," Nodding his head, Lyrick Jiang's demeanor was solemn. Upon hearing his master's suspicions, Lyrick Jiang executed his duty precisely.
If Ethan Lu was correct, then, Lyrick Jiang would be more merciless as he had already steeled his heart. This attack, whether it was a pure coincidence or intentional, he needed to get to the bottom of it.
"I see." Ethan Lu offered a meek smile as he nodded in satisfaction. "Anyway, do you have any idea if Uncle Den is in his office?"
"Alright." Ethan Lu stretched his lips up and nodded. With that, Lyrick Jiang bowed his head and left the office.
As soon as Lyrick Jiang closed the door, Ethan Lu glanced at the relaxing dumpling on his desk. "Chacha, did you say you're bored doing nothing?"
"No, I am dead bored."
"Heh, then I'll give you a mission." Slowly, a cunning smile formed on the side of Ethan Lu's lips.
Churu rolled and laid in a prone position with her head up, looking at the sly expression plastered across his face. Seeing it clearer, her mood gradually brightened up.
"Can you eavesdrop at my uncles' office? I wanted to visit him but, I just need to load my guns." Ethan Lu winked and clicked her tongue to the excited dumpling.
In a blink of an eye, Churu had already had a change of clothes. This time, it's not an outdated professor or a cheerleader; Churu's get-up was akin to an assassin.
More or less, her whole costume seemed to be inspired by a Hollywood movie Black Widow. The only difference was that Churu was still bald which made Ethan Lu's under eye to twitch.
"What's the need for the costume?" Feeling his whole face distorting, Ethan Lu asked. The teacher and cheerleading get up still made her look cute. However, Churu wearing a sexy outfit but failing miserably, Ethan Lu felt bad for her.
"Because I have a wardrobe!" In a matter of fact tone, Churu shrugged. "Also, it helps me to be in character~" as if Churu haven't guessed what was inside his mind, she proudly added as her whole figure sparkled with pride.
"Right, right. His office is not that far from mine so I can still hear you. Just tell me if you heard anything interesting." Ethan Lu sighed heavily while staring at Churu. He decided to let her be to whatever that made her happy and instructed her to the mission he gave out.
"Aye aye~!" Churu saluted, and with a poof, she was gone.
Ethan Lu didn't bother to tell where's Dennis Lu's office because Churu made her rounds earlier to safeguard the whole Lu Corporation headquarters. Therefore, she obviously memorized its whole blueprint and each department and offices — including Dennis Lu's office.
"Well, I must admit that she's too reliable." Ethan Lu sighed once again as he closed the documents he finished earlier. Just then, he heard a notification from his phone which made him glance at him.
Seeing that Lexi sent him an email, he knitted his brows. After all, Lexi rarely sent him official emails because she would either call or chat with him if she missed him.
Opening the email, Ethan Lu's puzzlement grew vivid in his front seeing that she sent him a video file. He played it and his eyes slowly widened with the short five-second video.
On the screen, he repeated the video and Ethan Lu gasped. Why does the man on the video look exactly like him?
