Chapter 117 She's dangerous
Ethan Lu smiled that didn't reach his eyes. Slowly walking towards them, he stretched his arms out as a base to maintain his distance from Lexi's unmoving figure. Ethan Lu stopped near Elliot Gong and wrapped his arms around his friend's neck before dragging him a couple of steps away; to be precise. an arm's length away from her.
"This is the right distance, my friend." He affirmed with his usual cozy tone as he put down his stretched out arm.
Lexi and Elliot Gong were both puzzled by Ethan's sudden appearance as neither of them didn't expect him to turn up. Raising his brows, Elliot Gong turned to see Ethan's grinning face as he stared at Lexi.
The moment Elliot Gong saw Ethan's sparkling eyes and an unreadable glint that flashed across them, Elliott's brows slightly creased. He was familiar with this -- this was the look that his friend often bores if he wanted to flirt with someone but… why does he sense that it was somehow different this time?
"Bro, don't go near her -- she's dangerous." Ethan Lu whispered albeit audible enough for Lexi to hear.
"Yup yup! Don't go near her or you might end up trapped into the danger zone like him~!" Churu, who was now snuggling on Ethan's shoulder like a clingy little pet, chimed in.
"Is this why you asked where I am at? You are bored after months living in seclusion and decided to disturb me?" Frowning, Elliot Gong cast him a disdainful look. He didn't dwell much on the little change in Ethan's eyes as he was natural flirt that nearly monopolized every girl in the city.
Hence, Elliot Gong assumed that Ethan Lu dropped by because he had nothing else to do and would surely go on a 'my next girlfriend hunting' around the set. No one could blame Elliot Gong not to have such assumptions as Ethan was akin to a beast that was freed from his cage and frequently looked for his next prey.
"Nope! I was here to see…" Ethan grinned as his arms that rest on Elliot's shoulder lightly tightened as happily pulled him and he ruffled his hair like a happy big brother. He then glanced at the mortified Lexi before he continued,
"...you," With that said note, Ethan winked at Lexi that made her eyes twitched.
'What is he doing? What's with the wink -- no, no, that's not important! I'm not ready for the next task yet!' Lexi gracelessly panicked inwardly. Granting that Ethan Lu always winked at her and uttered full none sense that often gets on her nerves albeit sometimes touching -- however, this time, there's certainly a changed in him.
Was it because of the fact that he's in love with her? However, in Lexi's eyes, that's not the only thing that changed. She could not precisely point it out but something in his aura was different. Lexi gulped a mouthful of saliva as she let out a faint exhale before she mended her disoriented mind due to his abrupt visit.
"Oh ho, Mr. Main task… I'm glad that you are here because my sissy missed you, but she won't admit it. hihi~" As usual, Churu's unreserved comments wouldn't be missed as she ratted Lexi out in an instant. Unlike Lexi, Churu was more aware of Ethan's motives which satisfied her little meaty heart. Unfortunately, Ethan Lu could not hear her, or else, she would gossip with him and tattle how Lexi pig out for the past month all day long.
"Hehe, I missed you... didn't you know that?" While Elliot was locked in his arm, Ethan took advantage of it as he blurted out his greetings to Lexi. Though Ethan wouldn't mind interacting with Lexi even if there are millions of viewers, however, knowing Lexi, he held back.
"Ah, ah!" Meanwhile, Elliot struggled to escape from his friend's grip and when he succeeded, he glared daggers at Ethan, he sassed, "Glad to see me to the extent of choking me?"
"Uh, sorry. Got a little excited." Feigning innocence, Ethan raised both of his hands in defeat as he put up a harmless smile while raising his brows.
"Are you two done? Can you please let me be so I can practice my lines?" Upon calming her nerves, as usual, Lexi was back with her diva attitude and bluntly shooshed them away. She forced a smile on her face which didn't reduce the ambiguous aura emanating within her.
"No, me and him -- we're not yet done. But go on... we won't disturb you any longer," Ethan courtly responded before dragging his friend Elliot to wherever he would bury him.
Lexi's brows arched as she watched their retreating back, she inquired internally. 'Uh, sissy? Where are you going?'
"Do practice, chu~. I smell juicy gossip, hihi~" Churu's voice rang in her head as she followed Ethan and Elliot from behind with her waggling white bum.
"Whatever!" Letting the little dumpling on her gossip venture, Lexi slumped on her chair, still a little hyped at Ethan's presence. She roughly flipped the script on her hand to focused her attention to it but to no avail, she too, wanted to know what happened to him in his months of absence.
"Tch --" She snorted. Although Lexi was relief that Ethan didn't mindlessly approach her as she was afraid that she'd be targetted to another ambiguous blind item talks. Lexi was still a little irked that they couldn't get to catch up. Gosh, these ironic thoughts were giving her a painful headache.
"This stupid system is messing with my head." She mumbled and slightly shook her head to divert her attention.
