"Bastard, what did you do?" Kiko gnashed his teeth.
Brai sneered.
He whipped his sword before inserting it back to its sheathe. It was a curvy sword commonly called Katana from the lost era.
A humming sound generated after the whip. At the same time, he was giving his reply to the confused Kiko.
"Just a simple enchantment, young master Sun." Brai's reply had a tone of mockery.
He knew that Kiko was looking down at him. In general, he was looking down on all his peers who were beneath his status. So no need for friendly remarks towards each other. Besides, he believed that Kiko also felt the same way. After all, they were all rivals here.
Though, Brai still held a little respect for him for being part of a noble family. Kiko did not truly show direct hostility towards him. Of course, they were also not friendly towards each other. Maybe the two of them just weren't compatible enough to become good buds.
Kiko frowned. He had no idea how the hell Brai did it, but he heard that the Crescent family was also good in enchantment as they even owned a blacksmithing firm in the country. Perhaps the light that was covering Brai's weapon was the cause of it.
"Dammit!" Kiko swore silently.
However, even though his explosive fireballs failed to explode, these did not stop him from throwing another explosive fireball at Brai.
Just as expected, it also did not explode like the others.
"W-Will Kiko bro be defeated by that show-off?" one of Kiko's friends muttered in worry after seeing that none of Kiko's fireballs was able to blow up.
However,
Thud!
"Aray!" A sudden expression when he received a jab on his head.
"Idiot! What are you talking about!? There's no way Kiko will lose against him!" Bert angrily barked at his friend's face.
The next second, there is a cross-shaped band-aid on the swelling part of his friend's head. They were watching the match along with the other onlookers.
All of them were defeated already, so each of them wasn't in good condition. Especially Bert, who once again had a draw result against Bob. Marco and Bruno weren't in a good mood as well, after all, the two of them were defeated by that hated person.
They could only lament their results. It was truly regretful and embarrassing. They could not even put up a good fight against him. Marco and Bruno sighed inwardly while secretly cursing Yman under their breaths. They wished Yman lost more embarrassingly.
Regardless, they could only cheer at Kiko from the corner. The defeated ones had no right to enter the waiting hall while the competition was still ongoing.
Back to the match.
Kiko created a bigger fireball and fired it. He saw Brai unsheathed his weapon then held it in front of him while gripping the hilt in both hands. He was placing his left foot behind his right. He looked like a samurai from the lost era.
The next second, more bluish mana surged up, enveloping the whole sword.
The big fireball continued to spiral towards Brai, but it suffered the same fate when Brai swung his katana downward. It splits in half and dispels into the air like smoke.
Weirdly though, there was no disappointment in Kiko's face. In fact, he showed a toothy grin. It seemed like he was expecting this result. Even Yman noticed the grin on Kiko's face. Perhaps Kiko already figured out what to do to counter Brai's enchantment ability.
Yman somehow had little knowledge about enchantment ability. But he still had to ask the person beside him who knows better than him.
It was Almina. She was explaining to Yman about the enchanting ability. As a person born in a family who was using sword arts, she herself knew about it. It was after all the first ability taught to them by their family elders. Though, there were many types of enchantment abilities.
"I think he's using the [Defusion Enchantment]. It is a kind of enchantment that could erase the enemy's magical spell."
"Erase? Not disarming?" Yman was quite intrigued. Erase and disarming had a far different meaning. While |disarming| could be used in a more specific way, |erase| was a stronger word compared to it.
"Yeah, look!" Almina nodded at him and beckoned him to look at the monitor.
On the stage, a much bigger fireball was cut in half by Brai. It disappeared again after getting sliced in half.
"I see," Yman muttered in understanding. Looking at it, it looked like it erased the spell. But, in reality, it only dispels it.
A person who had a high perception ability could easily distinguish that it didn't actually erase the spell itself. But it erases the hidden effect of the spell. So that's the reason why Almina said it could erase a magic spell.
Even after having his fireball disappear, Kiko had the opposite reaction towards it. He muttered while grinning. "Heh, you better pay for it."
Then he summoned mana from within his body. It was the same bluish mana but darker if compared to Brai's. It also meant that Kiko was at a higher level than Brai.
The higher the level one was, the darker their mana gets. It was common knowledge to most people with mana. Even some of the common folks knew about it.
Brai did not remain on his feet, he rushed towards Kiko.
But he suddenly stopped, because right at this moment, more fireballs materialized around Kiko. About 25-30 of them. And the number was continuously increasing.
"Oh, what a monster?!" Announcer Beth commented excitedly. "Now, everyone, see the mighty power of Kiko of the Sun family. This is utter overkill!" She added in a shout.
In Kiko's mind, if one or two wasn't enough, then let's do with a hundred of them!
Brai finally surfaced a frown on his handsome face.
"This Kiko, is he trying to erase the whole arena?" Vortex, who was currently watching the match along with Ultima and friends, could not help but expressed his thoughts.
