Chapter 174: Self challenge-3

With a steely resolve, Bai Lung gathered his wits and summoned his inner strength to speak,

” Well! I appreciate your offer, but I must politely decline,” he said firmly with his unwavering voice.

‘ My purpose here is to find land, and I will not be swayed from my path by mere illusions, ‘ He thought in his mind.

He was a little sad to decline such milkers but it is what it is.

The mermaids’ expressions shifted from seductive allure to mild irritation, their facade slipping for a moment before they regained their composure.

” Stubborn foolish mortal,” one of them muttered under her breath, her eyes flashing with a hint of frustration and anger.

But Bai Lung remained resolute. His focus remained unwavering as he continued to scan the horizon for any sign of land.

“…”

“…”

“…”

The mermaids, realizing that their charms were ineffective, exchanged glances before disappearing beneath the waves with a flick of their tails.

Ufff!

Alone once more in the vast expanse of the sea, Bai Lung breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that he had avoided a potentially deadly encounter with some wild mermaids.

Clenching his fist with renewed determination, he resumed his quest for land, so, that way he could pass the test.

His senses were on high alert for any further challenges like mermaids coming back to attack or any new monster attack that may potentially live in this sea.

As the night wore on and the stars twinkled overhead, Bai Lung suddenly began to feel tired and sleepy.

As exhaustion began to weigh heavily on Bai Lung, he fought to keep his eyes open, knowing that succumbing to sleep could lead to disaster.

Good thing the sea doesn’t have much current so, his raft couldn’t sail on its own unless someone else played a role.

But despite his best efforts to himself awake, the relentless pull of weariness dragged him into the embrace of slumber.

His muscles, bones everything was beginning to hurt, he felt energyless.

Even in his dreams, Bai Lung found himself standing on the shores of a vast, desolate sea, the waves crashing against the rocky cliffs with a deafening roar.

The air was thick with a sense of foreboding, and a ghostly mist hung low over the horizon obscuring any sign of land.

As he ventured further along the shore, Bai Lung felt the hairs on the back of his neck prickle with unease. It was as if he were being watched by unseen eyes, and a sense of dread settled over him like a shroud.

Suddenly, a voice echoed through the darkness, sending chills down Bai Lung’s spine, ” Who dares trespass in my domain? ” it boomed, reverberating through the air like thunder.

Bai Lung’s heart raced as he scanned the horizon, searching for the source of the voice.

And then, emerging from the mist, he saw it…

a towering figure clad in shimmering scales, its eyes burning with a malevolent red light.

It was a sea serpent.

Bai Lung’s blood ran cold as he realized the gravity of the situation.

he was face to face with a powerful beast which would be hard to defeat in his current situation.

With every ounce of courage he could muster, Bai Lung squared his shoulders and met the sea serpent’s gaze head-on.

Swoosh!

Suddenly the servant launched itself at Bai Lung’s face…

Before anything could happen, Bai Lung woke up…

And surprisingly, his raft was moving on its own,

The sea was moving with powerful waves, and he could see the Land.

Seeing the Land… Bai Lung was instantly overjoyed.

He couldn’t believe it, not only did no monsters seem to have attacked him, but he even found the Land.

However, His happiness didn’t last long as he saw some people aiming at him with their arrows through the Bow.

” Holy Fuck! Don’t tell me… They are gonna kill me, ”

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Before the arrows could hit him…

He woke up in his raft.

” H-Huh? ” He couldn’t believe what just happened.

Was it dream on a dream? He was shocked. Something completely unspeakable happened to him.

Chirp! Chirp!

Bai Lung looked at the sky, it was early morning, he couldn’t even see the sun, however seeing the birds flying while making noise, he guessed the land must be near.

Surprisingly all his fatigue was instantly gone and he felt full of vitality and stamina.

” Damn it! What kind of task is this? ” He roared while he was feeling energetic to search for land.

Hours and hours passed, and the sun was already above his head casting a sourcing burning heat.

Sweat began to drip from his skin, while he felt all his vigor go down the drain.

He was already tired.

The test was impossible, even now, he could see no sign of land.

” just where the heck am I? ” He became annoyed and frustrated.

In such heat, he had no energy to continue.

Splash!

Since he was feeling overly hot, he decided to jump into the sea to cool his body.

The sea was densely blue in color while he couldn’t see very deep into the bottom.

Good thing, he doesn’t feel thirsty or hungry. While he swimmer and got back on his rift… He wondered if he could use those mermaids.

Indeed, instead of just sending them away, he believed he should, he should let them push his rift while promoting them to give what they want.

Right now, all he has to do is wait till night, if they return once again with their offer, he will think of a way.

The sect room…

While the sect master and elders also looked at Bai Lung, they were confused.

” That’s the Temple of Nine realm, an artifact that descended from an unknown era and time, ” The sect master spoke nodding his head.

From the look of the temple, the first floor of the artifact was glowing, which meant Bai Lung had completed the first challenge.
