Chapter 523: Reason to marry!?
With her voice ranging, the two of them turned to look at Jennifer. Her eyes were the burning, resembling volcanoes which were pleading her husband to lend her some time to question Lucas.
He wasn’t only their enemy but killing him leisurely will not be worth the pain. Her child suffered as well. As a mother, she’ll not interfere in whatever Javier will do to torture him. However, that doesn’t mean she’ll not take the action to clear some questions which bundled in her mind.
Javier eyed her before he snapped out of his daze,”What are you doing here?” His cold tone failed to fabricate his displeasure. Jennifer ignored it and walked inside the room with a stern expressions. She came forward and saw that there was a cut on Lucas’s head which was bleeding.
Her lip pursed into a straight line before muttering, “Don’t expect any kind of mercy from my side, Lucas. After knowing what you have done in the past, there is no way I will lend you my helping hand in escaping from here.”
“Are you one of them now?” Lucas can’t help but ask, since he doesn’t believe that Jenifer will so easily transform into a person whom he doesn’t know. Wasn’t she the one who insisted to have a life with him? Didn’t she ask for some time to accept him? How can she change her mind so easily?
Meanwhile Jennifer was fed up with his words.”I will always side by my husband. You’re nothing but a toy in my eyes, an absolute disgusting rotten thing. Who knows if you weren’t picked up from the trash.” Jennifer left no stone to throw verbal abuse at him. In that moment, she knew exactly what would trigger him.
Expectedly, his eyes turned frosty and he scoffed. Once she saw him glaring at her, her lips curled into a smile. “What happened? Are you furious? Doesn’t matter because you are going to be dead and you can only swallow this anger of yours into your brain. At the end... your egoistic behavior won’t work here.”
.....
“JENNIFER!”
“Don’t shout, otherwise before Javier slits your heart, I will slash your tongue out from your mouth!” Her aggressive tone brought sufficient fear in Lucas. He shut his his mouth but that didn’t stop his eyes from passing the deadly threat in her direction.
However, Jennifer didn’t regret anything. She rotated her head and found Javier still not interested in letting her stay here for a single moment. But since he didn’t interrupt her even once was a sign that he wasn’t kicking her out of this room either.
Jennifer kept her chin high and walked more closely to Lucas. There onwards, her eyes narrowed as she asked, “So start talking. What do you know about me, Lucas Smith?”
“What do I know about you?” Lucas’s angry wasn’t displeased. He was still finding it hard to control his body which trembled under the influence of his fury.
But that didn’t mean Jennifer was willing to let go of this was so easy. “Why were you so bent on marrying me despite knowing that i have lived with the Johnson’s once?”
“You exchanged the ruby with Johnsons to get me. Don’t take me as a fool who would believe that you were actually in love with me. That is the last lie and excuse you should mention to me right now. So, what was your game?”
Her blunt question never struck lucas. Thinking that she was a mere lady who acted against him took him out of his defense. Right now,she appeared more chiller than Javier and Ellen.
But on the top of that, he had no wish to unravel the truth so easily. “Not worthy of knowing the truth.”
“Oh really?” Jennifer’s lips curved into smile. She concealed her emotions perfectly before she brought her hand do press the wound that was still left open. The blood oozed out of the wound at the faster rate and this gained a sharp and painful growl from Lucas. “ARE YOU CRAZY?!”
“Take me as a mad woman. I will not leave until you tell me what I want to hear.” Jennifer didn’t break eye the contact. “You have two options. Either you reveal everything to me with full honesty or... the situation will be worse which will ultimately push you to your limit of patience and you will end revealing everything to me.”
Lucas teeth gritted on hearing her answer. She was inducing him to blurt out everything in front of her. If not because her tricks were merciless, she was might appeared to be a mad and crazy woman. She was definition of death right now as she pressed her hands tight around the wound which caused extra pain.
“I-I will...reveal..” Lucas finally muttered as the sweat from his forehead dripped. In contrast, Jennifer didn’t let the smile vanish,”I want truth.”
“Y-Yes Yes...truth. Entire truth.”
Jennifer tilted her head to the right as she kept her eyes stagnant at him. Finding sincerity in those black eyes, she pulled her hand back and the wound pressed to its original pace. But the amount of blood that flowed out from Lucas’s body was holding the power to make him faint.
But Jennifer still didn’t show her patience, “Open your mouth now..Tell me.”
“Y-You are actually not your parent’s daughter. You are a Princess, a true princess. But your father had lost you when you were young. So...you are actually the adopted child of your parents.” Lucas finally told the situation in bits.
As he took a deep breath, he expected Jennifer will be amused by such a big revelations. Yet there was no trace of shock that surfaced on her face. In fact, she waited for him to continue further “A-Are you after knowing that you are not your father’s daughter?”
“I already know. I want to know further.” At this reaction, Lcuas was grateful that he dare not to lie on her face. If just now, he had made up a story then she would have bashed him worsely.
Lucas took a deep breath to say further “I wanted to maryy you because..you have a lot of property at your end. My main aim was to first marry you..... and then get the property under my name. Since you would have been my wife, there wouldn’t have been much hasle for me to get your signatures on the documents and get everything transferred under my name.”
“So, was it all for money?”
