Chapter 118 - Leaving Javier!?
'But..the last time I used a phone..that made Javier face a lot of consequences..'
She was double-minded about what to do. One conscience told her to go for it and contact her people. On the other hand, she was consciously worrying about what if this time also results in what happened last time?
'But wait, if Lucas gets to know about this...I'm here In Javier's villa, what can Lucas also do with this? That island wasn't safe but this villa... Is too much save and Lucas will never enter here..'
Calculations were going inside her mind. She was unsure of whether to take the step she was taking or not?
Her entire face was filled with uneasiness and dread. Images of the last time when she was in the basement surfaced in her mind, making her feel shivers down her spine.
By chance, if she doesn't and Lucas fulfills the demands of the Johnsons, no matter if Javier isn't willing, won't Shawn send her back anyway?! Moreover, if Lucas is willing to do any exchange for her... Doesn't that mean he wishes to have her at any cost no matter what?
Lucas's craziness for her was annoying to another core. She simply wished to just run from his clutches somewhere far from where she is right now, and not to come on his radar at any cost.
At this point, Jennifer knew that she had to make a tough choice. Looking outside the window, she noticed that it was still day, there was enough time for her to go and check if she could contact her team from here or not.
Clutching the bedsheet beneath her, Jennifer's face can fear something known and unknown consumer at a high speed yet her heart and mind coordinated together to just work against her will.
At last, her grip on the bedsheet beneath her loosened, when she stood on her toes and walked near the door to lock it from above.
After making sure that it was locked and no one could enter, Jennifer turned her body to look at the coffee table and the laptop lying on it.
Her body was thunderstruck when she felt her mind was going to break down due to the malfunctioning. If not for the conscience and her will to go, she was pretty much sure that nothing would have made her stand on her weak legs until now.
Taking slow and steady steps, Jennifer took baby steps and reached near the coffee table. She wasn't sure if she has ever felt this frightened in her entire lifespan of twenty-six years when her instincts told her she was going to commit some kind of crime.
At this point, it was a do-or-die situation for her 'Cmon Jennifer, if you contact your people there, you can at least know what are they planning and what is the current situation..' through this thought, her heart gained some confidence.
Taking a deep breath to relax her raging nerves and emotions, she sat on the nearby couch and opened the laptop in her hands.
Without taking any precautions, Jennifer simply unlocked the screen to see the front window Even though she wasn't sure if it will catch signals, when will her hacking skills work?
'Looks like, I will need to use some twisted method to reach the mode of conversation.' When she was in a stable state of calmness, Jennifer pulled her sleeves above and was in the right state to use the laptop with her skills.
Her connection strengthened on screen when she started entering the codes, which were totally unknown.
The laptop was of good quality since it didn't break down from its continuous use. Her hand moved in perfection way, typing each key at the time. The code which she wrote wasn't of this state and it wasn't easy to crack and contact someone outside, especially abroad.
There were layers of protection through which she had to break and pass before coming to a platform where her people could chat with her. The site where it was used was unknown, and something only a few people are aware of.
As her forehead's lines shrank more and more, the movements of her hand-worked, as her typing skills were no less than Javier's, just the difference was he must have undergone training, where she wasn't professional in this work.
All she knew was enough to safeguard herself and reach her people.
Her trusted ones, whom she met when she was in university. As there was no one in her state, who's worthy of her trust, not even her own family.
Within a few more minutes, Jennifer successfully got at the sight when she clapped her hands. "YES! YES! I GOT IT!"
She was successful in cracking the code and getting through the layer protection. Currently, she was at the site where Jennifer was waiting for someone to show up online, as her id showed online status.
Tim- Anyone there? I'm here... come here, pleaseā¦
She left a message, hoping to receive any answer from their side before someone shows up in the room.
Subconsciously, from time to time her eyes drifted back to another door to hear no steps from outside.
Waiting was the most crucial time, testing her anxiousness.
Biting her lower lip, she was in a state of distress without anything in her hands. Other than waiting, was there any option left in her hands? Probably no..
In the end, she received a reply which made her sigh in relief.
Twin- We are here, Jen. How are you?! Are you fine?! We were so worried about you and your locationā¦
Tim- I'm alright until now they haven't harmed me. The man is really good who has kidnapped me. But I doubt his family is using me against Lucas. Twins, I don't know how long I can survive here..
Twin- You want us to come there for your help and take you back here? You can settle here with us, abroad, and leave your states behind...starting afresh.. Do You wish for the same Tim?
Reading the message, her face froze. Many times, she was saying that she wished to just run from Lucas, but what about this strange man?
The thought of not talking with Javier, suddenly made her heart feel some emptiness.
Why?! What are these feelings? What are those developing emotions in her mind and heart?
'Am I ready to leave everyone.., my parents, Javier behind and start my life without them?'
....
