Chapter 229: Massacre(2)
After the wolf answered the reason behind wolves interest in the newborn Lion cub, Aakesh's face turned cold, and a chilly aura began emanating from him.
The wolf lost all its hope to live after seeing the change of expression on Aakesh. It didn't understand why someone like Aakesh had a sudden change, but the wolf didn't have to think about it for long.
He suddenly grabbed hold of the wolf's head and coldly commented, "Die, your clan member would join you soon!"
The wolf didn't understand what was happening as the next moment a wave of pain swept over it. Soon, it stopped feeling any pain as Aakesh had crushed its head.
Aakesh then jumped back on the tree as he still had to wait for the red-haired man to come and get the cub. He also began thinking about what the wolf had answered a few moments earlier.
Aakesh learned many things about the silver wolves while traveling in wolfden for several days. In the wolf clan, the wolf king had three sons, and they took control of the entire lineage while the wolf king tried to search for ways to evolve into an Epic lifeform.
The wolf Aakesh had just killed was the descendant of the second child of the wolf king. Unlike the siblings, the second child gained a rare ability of blood manipulation. It could find the creature just from the smell of its blood even when not a single drop of blood leaked out.
The wolf king had two purposes behind capturing Lily. First, it wanted to create super wolves soldiers that would help it in conquering the wolfden. Second, it desired to use the blood of Lily to evolve itself into a greater lifeform.
The wolf king bloodline had the power to evolve into an Epic lifeform, but after that, its growth would stop if it didn't reach any high-level area. For it to advance into a high-level zone, the minimum level it needed was Level 100, so both the requirements were linked.
When it sensed the pressure from Lily's bloodline, it got its chance to gain an even higher level of lifeform.
Since Lily wasn't an original inhabitant of Panagea, she had to start from Level zero and would be considered an adventurer. But, Aakesh had ordered the system not to involve Lily in the storyline of Panagea, so the system took away the adventurer tag of her.
If Lily had the adventurer tag on her, the wolf king wouldn't have been able to have any designs on her due to the privileges of adventurers in low-level areas. But since it had no privilege, the wolf king decided to use her high-level bloodline to enhance not only its lifeform but also other wolves of its lineage.
Fortunately for Lily, the wolf king didn't dare to make a direct move on her despite her being only Level zero. It didn't make any direct moves because it was afraid of the power behind her. Creatures of high-level bloodline like her usually belonged to powerful families.
The second son of the wolf king found the scent of the Lion to be very close to Lily.
They didn't know that the race Lily belonged to was the primogenitor of other feline races, so the Lions had somewhat of the blood scent Lily had.
Their main purpose behind getting the cub was to inject the blood of Lily into it and experiment on both the newborn and Lily. They couldn't take any risk with the blood injection since if anything happened to the wolf king, the Townhead of Wolfden would kill them, and their lineage would end.
Time flew by, and several minutes passed.
The red-haired man finally reached the area. He couldn't help but shudder, seeing the headless corpses lying on the ground.
When he saw the wolves corpses not far from the tigers, he couldn't help but take a step back in fear.
The Lions were only one of the races subservient to the wolf king, but the silver wolves were descendants of the wolf king, so anyone who could dare to kill the wolves in their area would at least be above Level 20.
The red-haired man decided to run since he didn't want to die like them, then suddenly a pressure arrived on him that made him halt.
How could Aakesh let the red-haired man leave and not do what he was supposed to do after spending so much effort?
"Forgive me, senior! I would leave right away," The red-haired man yelled, seeing the sudden turn of events. He then waited for an answer nervously, but even after several seconds passed, no response came.
The red-haired man thought that the senior had left, so he tried to run in other directions, but he couldn't even budge. He suddenly had an idea. He tried to walk in the direction of the cave where the newborn cub was peacefully sleeping.
The next moment, the pressure disappeared, and he could walk. He then tried to turn back, the invisible pressure reappeared. The man then tried a few more times.
Every time he would walk in the direction of the cave, no pressure would affect him, but when he tried to move in any other direction, the invisible pressure would stop him from moving any further.
Even when he tried to stop at one position, the pressure on him began increasing with each passing second. The red-haired man believed there was a trap inside the cave, but he didn't have a choice but to walk in the trap willingly.
Aakesh looked at the scene coldly. He couldn't personally intervene in front of the man, or he had personally handed over the cub to the man.
The red-haired man tried to waste as much time as possible by walking slowly, but Aakesh had a terrible mood right now due to the plans of the wolves. He suddenly increased the invisible pressure that forced the man to fall flat on the ground.
Before the pressure could hurt the man, he took it back. The man got his lesson, and in the next two strides, he reached the entrance of the cave.
Before entering, he looked at the sky and prayed to the Gods for protecting him.. He then took a deep breath and entered, only to get astonished by the scene in front of him.
