"It was the Earth Element Deity?" Le Fang Ling assumed.
"Yes, it was him." Feng Po Po confirmed her answer. "As for me, I had nowhere planned to go so I chose to hand the wind scroll to that boy from the Mo family."
"Elder Mo? But I think he had no idea that you were still inside the scroll?" Le Fang Ling thought about the time she was talking with Elder Mo. Indeed, he said nothing about wind deity or something.
Feng Po Po was thoughtful for a while as he heard Le fang Ling out. "I did not say where I was going and he did not ask it either. I just asked him to keep the wind scroll safe until he felt there was someone who needed it."
"I think he found you deserving to finally give the wind scroll to you," Feng Po Po commented with a smile. She had not planned to come out of seclusion for another hundred years or so but now that she had awoken, she felt it might be for the best.
Although she did not expect the first elemental deity she would meet was the one she feared the most. He was as terrible as always, the sickening aura he exuded did only not subside; it got stronger than before.
"What worthy of something, geez" embarrassed, Le fang Ling chuckled a bit. She was not arrogant enough to think that she was worthy of being called like that. She was stupid, made wrong choices, and weak as hell!!
"Those things can be changed," Nagina said without much care as she continued snuggling on her hand. "You just fix those things one by one." Although it seemed like she did not care much, Le fang Ling knew she was as desperate as her.
A smile crept upon her face as she rubbed her head. "Uhum, you are correct." She nodded her head with a somewhat eased-up face.
"Also, I think that girl is someone from the western province," Feng Po Po said after thinking for a while. "As far as I can remember, the divine white tiger temple had claimed the earth-element deity."
"There was a huge tapestry with the image of white tiger, and also the vessel for the earth element deity," Feng Po Po thought about it. "Maybe that can help you understand a few things."
"Nagina, try to search up for the white tiger tapestry of the divine white tiger temple of the western province, we might be able to find something," Le fang Ling immediately woke up Nagina. Although they could not find the girl, there was still a way for them to find something about her.
If not for her, they could still find something about the earth's deity. She was not hundred percent sure but if there was something about the earth deity, they could find some sort of hint about the girl as well. If she had the earth deity with her and she was from the western province, then there must be some sort of record of her in their sect.
"See if you can search for something. I am pretty sure it's highly classified information but after your upgrade, you might be able to do it," Le fang Ling said with a slight nod of her head.
"On it," Nagina nodded her head. "But I can not promise, I will just try my best."
Nagina closed her eyes as she tried to focus on a particular place in the entire continent. Since it was not something she had ever seen before, she needed a bit before she could successfully find it. The tapestry that Feng Po Po had mentioned was there in the sect hall of the great tiger palace.
The tapestry was there, but Nagina knew there was something wrong with it.
"Share your vision with me," Le fang Ling wanted to see the things for herself. Nagina heard the command from her host and complied with her. She connected her nerve signals with Le fang Lings. Once their brain frequency overlapped with each other and synchronized, they reached resonance.
Le Fang Ling could see the vague image of the great tiger palace in her mind. The images were playing in her mind like in a movie theatre. The entire surrounding was dark as it could get and the only thing in their vision was the wall of the hall.
On the wall, a huge cloth hung, covering most of the surface area of the wall. On it, there was a painting of a huge white tiger that looked ferocious with its fang showing. The tapestry was there but she had no idea if that was fake or original. If it was the vessel for the earth deity, she wanted to take a closer look at it.
'Nagina, can we get a closer view of the painting?' Le fang Ling asked in her head. She wanted to see if there was something more to it than the exquisite painting which made the tiger look real.
'I will try!' Nagina said as she concentrated on the image in her head. Since it was something she had found in real-time, it was harder than the other time she was searching something up. Right now, her consciousness had reached the real tiger palace and they were looking at the art in real-time!
She wanted to get closer but there seemed some sort of mental barrier that was stopping her. She knew there were going to be a barrier that would stop her advances but it was much before then she had thought. They were still more than two hundred meters away from the painting.
A bit more and they could observe the painting in much closer range. But they were restricted to moving even a centimeter from their current location.
'As expected, it's not easy to get close to something as sacred as this,' Le fang Ling knew it was useless trying to waste time there. They might be better off spending their energy on something else.
And from the looks of it, Nagina was hitting her limit. It was her first time sending her consciousness to travel such a far distance. Along with that, there was a strange power hindering her. It was only a matter of time before her strength gave out.
'I think we should head back,' Le Fang Ling was about to ask Nagina to cut off their connection when she noticed something out of place.
Just as they were about to leave from there, Nagina not only did not cut off her concentration, she even increased it by ten folds.
'Hey, why are you no-'
'Host, shhh,' Nagina's stern voice echoed in her head, making her stop. As for her question, Nagina did not have to answer, for Le fang Ling got the answer for herself.
Le fang ling's entire body stiffened as she looked at the image in her head. A few moments ago, the entire place was empty, only the tiger in the painting was staring at them. But now, the entire situation had changed. They were not the only ones there.
A tall shadow, it was a blur and fuzzy appeared in the frame of their eyes. Both Le Fang Ling and Nagina could only see the shadow and the blurred image of the person. From the silhouette of the shadow, Le Fang Ling doubted that was a girl.
While they were stuck at the same place, the shadow easily advanced. It stopped a bit and turned its head behind. Le fang Ling stiffened once again. She could feel as though the figure was mocking their inability to move from there.
'Can she feel our presence?' Le fang Ling doubted. Although it was only their consciousness and their body was still there, she still had a bit of doubt about this.
After looking around a bit, the figure walked inside the barrier as if it was her turf. This allowed Le Fang Ling to finally release the breath that she had held in unconsciously. A bit clear-headed, she focused on the action of the new intruder.
The figure continued walking until she reached the huge tapestry on the wall. She brought her hand forward and touched it, slowly and softly, as if she was feeling the painting…or the tiger in the painting.
"Master, I am here," a glitchy voice spoke out. It was the girl who was speaking right now. She had stopped her arms and now was standing a bit away from the tapestry. As soon as she said master, the tapestry glowed out.
The figure immediately fell on the knees, her head hung down in respect. Le fang ling looked in bewilderment as the tapestry started to fall in small partitions until there was not a trace of the initial tapestry left. In the place of the tapestry, there was a pile of mud that glowed until it took shape of a human. The body was muscular and stout, with a few scars on the back. Surprisingly, they looked like a badge of courage more than painful scars.
"Is it finally time?" The man spoke in a low voice; the voice alone was more than enough to make Le Fang Ling wish she was not there. It was ice cold and chilling. She could feel the sharpness of those four words.
"Yes, master," the figure continued to kneel even as she answered.
"Good, it's for the best," The voice of the man echoed in the empty hall.. It was then followed by a sharp cry of the kneeling girl.
