It was unknown as to who started the clap, but soon the entire arena resounded with the sound of clapping as every spectator present joined into the congratulatory clap. Zhen Bo stood in the arena with a smile on his face.

"That was a nice match!"

"Zhen Bo! Zhen Bo! Zhen Bo!"

Everyone started to cheer for his name. No matter the process used, the victor was always hailed in the end. Zhen Bo was the only one standing on the stage, with his chin held high.

Meanwhile, Bai Lo was squirming on the floor. He was clutching onto his broken arm. As for his sword, it was lying on the ground right next to him.

"Oh right, I need to clean up the mess," Zhen Bo sighed looking at the floor.

Zhen Bo snapped his finger and the melted mass of flesh immediately got reformed into a small condensed ball. He took hold of the ball and after inspecting it for a while, he kept it inside his spatial ring. The flesh was as good as useless, considering it had suffered from the burnt and qi force of Bai Lo.

'He is stronger than I thought, but also too full of himself,' he thought looking at the white-robed youth; Bai Lo. If he had not trained the blood beast to be the perfect armor, he knew the first sword strike was going to be lethal for him.

Immediately, Elder Shen appeared in the center of the arena.  He handed a token to Zhen Bo, an insignia that was the proof of the victory he had secured in the match.

"Clear the stage," he said in a stern voice as he looked at Zhen Bo. Zhen Bo gave a slight nod and retreated from the stage with his back held straight. The crowd got wild as they got impressed by the way he was presenting himself.

Although the technique he used was somewhat gruesome, who cared? He defeated a wielder of the lightning sword technique. Plus, the beauty was defeated, giving the people there a different sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.

As for Zhen Bo, he could care less. He cared neither for the fame nor the sparkling gazes of spectators that followed his every step.

A few cultivators in green robes, with a white mask around their faces, rushed into the arena. They carefully lifted Bai Lo from the floor and put him on the stretcher they had brought.

"The blow was extremely strong," one of them in charge cultivator who had finished checking his arm said with a sigh. Injuries were inevitable but this intensity of injury in the first fight…

He shivered at the thought of future matches, where cultivators with monstrous strength were going to collide with each other.

After doing immediate primary treatment, he was rushed off of the ground by a group of healers.

Elder Lin who had been watching the fight along with Lady Shen Yuan looked at her and expressed her consolation.

"It's fine Elder Lin, he should not have taken his opponent lightly just because it was the first match," Lady Shen Yuan was calm and unmoving like a big mountain. Even while facing such a disadvantageous situation, she did not show a sign of agitation.

"You are indeed correct my lady," Elder Lin said with a profound smile.

"Then I will take my leave, I have a patient to take care of," she smiled with a slight bow. Although there were plenty of other cultivators who specialized in herbs and healing were there, she wanted to go and see for herself.

The sect leaders who were gathered there grew solemn as they watched the young Zhen Bo walk away. Their gazes did not leave his figure from the moment he walked off of the stage.

"That boy is one of the kind," the purple-robed sect leader finally said with a smack of his lips. Throughout the match, he had finished 2 jars of alcohol.

"He still has a lot more to learn though, he killed off his blood beast," he clicked his tongue in displeasure.  Blood beasts were just small parasites that fed on blood. But once a cultivator was able to grow it with his blood, it became extremely loyal to one who raised it.

The reason? Well, it was because the beast would be addicted to the blood of that person, and if they were to be abandoned by the owner, they would perish. The blood from other people was not able to quench the thirst they had. Their craving for blood was not fulfilled by anyone other than their master.

"It will take time for him to make some who will be as loyal as that," he shook his head as he thought about the lecture he was going to have to give to the stupid kids.

"Nagina, do me a favor and tell me everything about Zhen Bo," Le Fang Ling said. No sooner had the request left her mouth, the tab appeared in front of her.

[Name: Zhen Bo

Affiliated Sect: The great Tiger Palace

Place of residence: The Divine White Tiger Temple, western Province

Affinity: Earth

Specialty: Beastmaster, spirit beast tamer

Subspecialization: Swordsman

Cultivation Realm: Spirit Enhancement Realm

Cultivation Rank: Final stage of Spirit Enhancement Realm]

[Zhen Bo is a young cultivator that was recruited by the sect master himself with two other cultivators at the tender age of 10 from a slum village near the City of the lantern. Zhen Bo, Mu Ting, and Fei Yei were the three kinds recruited by the sect leader of the great tiger palace and hence, the three of them are sworn, brothers and sisters. ]

"There are two more people like him?" Le fang Ling wondered if they were like him.

[In the test taken by the sect, among many other recruits of that year, Zhen Bo stood out from the rest with his quick wit and immense talent. He gained the favor of the sect leader and made an amazing breakthrough in a few years.]

"In other words, a young prodigy," Le Fang Ling said as she closed the system tab that was in front of her. He was exactly the type of person that could turn stone into the meat with just a snap of his finger.

"Maybe not that extreme either," Nagina coughed at her exaggeration.

"Ahem," Le fang ling cleared her throat.

"How old is he?"

"This year he is 18."

"Young, also, he is quite cruel," she added as she thought about how he used his beast spirit like an object and flunked it away once it was of no use.

"I mean that's how it is but still, he could have won the match any other way," she said as she thought about the openings that Bai Lo had left. Even she, who was looking from outside could figure out a one or two to overpower Bai Lo.

"But he just chose the easiest way, or maybe…" Le fang Ling widened her eyes in shock when she realized what could have been the motive behind the action of Zhen Bo.

"Does he want people to think he is just a killing maniac who uses brute force?" she was skeptical. She could be wrong but she could be right. He was a prodigy, a proclaimed genius in his sect. Anything could be possible behind his actions.

"Uggh, let's not think about this," Le fang ling shook her head to remove away the excess thinking she had been doing.

But watching the first match lit some kind of fire in the pit of her stomach. Although she could not take part this time, she was raring to take part in next year.

After all, it was the annual tournament! She just needed to grind her way through it.

Stareeeee…..

"What is it, Feng Po Po?" Le Fang Ling asked with a sigh. The wind maiden had been staring at her from the beginning of her interaction with Nagina.

"What is that thing you were touching?" she asked. She was talking about the system tab that appeared out of thin air. It was something she had never seen before.

"What thing?" Le Fang Ling was a bit taken aback by her question. She had thought she and Nagina were the only ones who could see them but, she was proven wrong by the question Feng Po Po asked.

"It had that weird thing written in it, I don't understand the words but I am pretty sure you were reading it," Feng Po Po looked a bit confused at the sudden appearance of the system interface.

Le Fang Ling bit her lip as he wondered how she could tell her the truth without telling the truth.

"Is it something only you possess?" Feng  Po Po asked as that thing certainly did not feel like it belonged to this world. The energy and aura it possessed were somewhat similar to the soul fragment of Le Fang Ling and that snake girl Nagina.

She was dumb and gullible, but she was not that idiotic to not know it. Le Fang Ling and Nagina had always appeared different to her and now, with how the things were progressing she was pretty sure, they had something foreign inside of them.

"Well, now that you have seen it, all I can say is…" Le Fang Ling took a deep breath. She was pretty sure there was no use in lying her way out.

"With time, I will tell the truth, everything you want to know but not yet," she placed the margin.

"It's shining," Feng Po Po looked at her in a daze.

"Hmm, what?" Le Fang Ling was baffled with the answer she got but she realized what she meant because she too felt it. The jade pendant around her neck was glowing!!
