Chapter 119: Connections

"Sixth brother, what does your family do?" Hao Xuan asked as they all walked around the city, enjoying the sights.

He had already taken care of the most important matter which was the Glaive, and he would buy a few other things after going back.

"A little bit of everything. We own a few businesses in some of the cities. What does Ninth brother need help with?" Sixth didn't try to hide anything from him and answered straightforwardly.

"I-" Hao Xuan was about to ask him when he saw the group of people still following behind. He had almost forgotten about them.

He smiled and turned around, "Brothers, sisters, I'm sorry to have troubled you today. It was supposed to be a group thing but I dragged you all over for no reason. I have some personal business to take care of right now and need brother Jun's help so I'll have to excuse myself for now."

"It was nice meeting all of you, I'll see you guys later then," he bowed slightly towards them.

"It was our pleasure. Thanks to brother Hao's errands we got to see a lot of different things. If you ever visit the Den again, please don't hesitate to call for us," Beatrice also smiled back with her usual charm that made Hao Xuan sigh inwardly.

"Damn, she really is pretty," he thought and nodded back.

But just as he turned around, he felt something pull his sleeve. He looked back to see Lois standing right behind him with an angry face.

"You still don't remember me do you?" she said so softly that only Hao Xuan was able to hear her. He looked at her with a raised eyebrow, "Remember you? I'm sure if we had met before, I would know. How could I forget such a beauty?"

He said with a dazzling smile, thinking she was just messing with him like before.

Lois's eyes went dim and she actually looked really hurt which surprised Hao Xuan. She got even closer and pulled his arm, making him bend down. She stood up on tiptoes and whispered in his ear, "Did you make up with your mother yet? You were always so immature even back then, not thinking how hard it was for others. I hope you're not like that anymore," she said and then turned around, grabbed Beatrice's hand and dragged her away hastily.

No one knew what had just happened. How come Lois was suddenly so close to Hao Xuan? But before anyone could ask, Lois and Beatrice were already gone.

Hao Xuan was frozen in that stance for a good minute, until Green bent down and lightly uttered, "Master," waking him from his stupor.

"Eh? Ah, where did she go?" he suddenly looked around but the two beauties had already left.

"Ninth brother, do you and that pretty lady have some sort of history perhaps?" Sixth asked with a mischievous expression, but Hao Xuan didn't pay attention.

"Brother, do you know how to get in contact with her? I need to talk to her," Hao Xuan grabbed Sixth by the shoulder and shook him, making him dizzy.

"N-Ninth brother calm down, you'll mess up my organs," Sixth almost vomited from suddenly being shaken like that.

"And I don't, but maybe one of the other sisters know?" he looked over at the three girls that were still standing there awkwardly. He got Lois's contact information from them and left.

When Lois said those things Hao Xuan knew exactly who she was. He hadn't interacted with many people on earth so it didn't take him long to come up with an answer. But how come she was here? Out of all the kingdoms, all the cities, she was here with him? Was it just a coincidence?

As Hao Xuan walked silently, engrossed in his own thoughts, Sixth finally couldn't take it anymore and asked, "Aren't you going to call her?"

Hao Xuan shook his head, "No, not yet. I don't know what to say right now."

They both stayed silent after that and walked around for almost an hour. It was almost 5 p.m and the sun was about to go down. Hao Xuan looked up at the scarlet sky and sighed once again.

"It's not time yet. I'll take care of it later," he mumbled and lightly slapped his face.

"Brother, I need someone to take care of things for me while I'm not here. Someone with connections. Who is the best person for this kind of stuff?" he asked sixth after regaining his composure. Lois had reminded him of a time of his life that he didn't want to recall, at least not right now.

"Hmm, there are a few people like this. Sort of a jack of all trades. They take care of things for the top 1% as they say. But they're not expensive you know."

"It's fine. Once they meet me, I'm sure my 'charisma' will be enough to make them work for me for free," he grinned.

"Give me a minute, I'll be back," he said to Sixth and walked over to an alley with Green and Red. A few seconds later he came out alone.

"Where did the big guys go?" Sixth asked curiously.

"They attract too much attention so I sent them home," Hao Xuan smiled mysteriously.

Sixth led him to the west side of the city again. They went past the malls and entered a much quieter area. There were cherry blossom trees everywhere and the buildings looked like the ones from the Edo period of Japan. It all looked extremely beautiful and calmed one down just by looking at the scenery.

They walked up to a mansion on the left side. As compared to the other buildings it didn't look that grand but had a very cozy feeling to it.

Sixth went up to the door and knocked five times in a specific rhythm. 5 seconds later the door opened and an old man in butler attire appeared.

"Please follow me," he said calmly and walked inside. Hao Xuan looked at Sixth doubtfully but still followed after.

The butler took them to a guest room which looked like the set of an old Japanese movie.

"Master will be with you shortly," the butler said respectfully and left.

"So, who is this person? You didn't tell me a lot about him. Why him out of all the others?" Hao Xuan inquired while admiring the decorations. There were some old swords, exactly like a samurai's and some beast skulls on the walls.
