Kris used to be someone who would always support him in any situation, but that man suddenly left with anger without turning back.

Kevin looked hopeless after the tanned man leaving the orphanage, but a light of hope brightened up his darkness upon hearing Luke's question.

"You can find more information related to Steve with his email account?" Kevin asked the IT expert with a hint of expectation in his blue eyes.

If Steve indeed betrayed Kris, then it would hurt Kris for sure. But, if Kris continued to blindly trust the bodyguard, then it would hurt the man more in the end. That was why Kevin had to discover the secret.

"I can do anything with an email account, just like what I did with Jaden Dunn's email account," Luke answered confidently.

Luke could even break the strongest security system of the Intelligence Agency, so hacking a personal account of Steve wouldn't be a hassle for him.

"I don't know Steve's email account, but I will try to find his account. After I manage to find it, I will let you know," Kevin replied, and Luke nodded his head at him.

"I'm sorry for interrupting your discussion, but what about Mr. Allaband? Is it okay to let him leave you, Kevin?" Casper suddenly chimed in a worried tone. He dared to call Kevin by his first name, but he wouldn't dare to do that for Kris.

Kris was still quite cold and distant to him, and he remained polite and formal toward the tanned man.

Kevin took a deep breath before turning to the young soldier. "I will let him be for now," he replied. "He will need some time to calm himself down, and I will talk to him again once I get enough proof about Steve."

"You will wait until you get enough proof, Brother?" Blue suddenly butted in. "Don't you want to talk to uncle soon? It's just a misunderstanding, and you should talk to him soon, right? I don't know why, but I'm worried about uncle, Brother."

Blue's words made sense too, but Kevin once again sighed as he stared at the young girl. "I promise you that I will talk to your uncle, Blue. But I also need some time to reflect. I have hurt both Kris and Julia, and I'm not fine right now. I don't want to hurt them even further."

No one made a sound again after Kevin finished speaking. His mental state was not good right now. Last night, Julia turned her back on him because he kept accusing Grace Hasler, and now Kris also left him because he suspected Steve.

Kevin was confused, and his mind was troubled.

"Let's give Kevin some time too, and let's discuss another matter," Luke suddenly broke the silence, winning the attention of the people in the room. "Kevin, you said that there was a mysterious attack in Chilad that stopped your investigation in the buried valley site, right? Don't you think we should pay more attention to the site?"

Bringing up the buried valley incident reminded Kevin of the initial purpose of their investigation. Kevin realized that the inquiry in the buried valley was not done because of the sudden attack in Chilad.

"You are right," Jack butted in. "We found nothing in the buried valley because someone attacked us. I think it's better if we continue our investigation in Chilad."please visit pαпᵈα-:)ɴᴏᴠᴇ1.co)m

Kevin remained quiet even after Jack agreed with Luke's opinion. There was an attack back then in Chilad, so Chilad must be an important district for the criminals.

"I can continue investigating the buried valley if you want to. I will bring my weapons this time," Casper's voice was heard again, and Kevin turned to the young soldier.

"Our opponent is dangerous, Casper," Kevin replied. "Even if you bring your weapons, it's still dangerous if you go there alone."

"I will go there with Casper," Jack suddenly volunteered, but his voluntary action made Kevin sigh.

"It won't make any difference, Jack," Kevin responded again. "We don't even know who our opponent is, and probably they have lots of armed men with them. Just the two of you won't make things different."

Kevin tried to be realistic and stopped his ally from doing reckless action. Even if they indeed needed to collect more information soon, they should prioritize their safety first.

Kris was not even with him now, so he could only rely on himself in making the decision.

"I agree with Kevin," Luke chimed in again. "Maybe we should wait for Steve's email account so I can find more information from the account. We shouldn't be reckless this time."

Luke was quite mature, and Kevin was thankful for having Luke at a time like this. However, he then remembered something as he turned to Jack.

"Jack, you are not angry with me and Kris anymore, right? I know that we are wrong for hiding the truth from you and Blue, but Kris's mentality was not good since he lost his seven brothers. Kris was so shocked, and that's why he ended up suspecting you in his confused state."

Jack was enraged last night, but he was willing to attend their meeting today despite his foul mood last night. Even so, Kevin still wanted to make sure that the tattooed man didn't have any grudge toward him and Kris.

Kevin smiled at the blonde. "You've come a long way with us, Jack. You even gave us some important information, and now that you've won all my trust, you agree to fight the enemy with me until the end, right?"

Kevin needed Jack's commitment, so he directly asked the blonde.

The blonde stared at him intently as he replied, "I promise that I will be loyal to you until the end, Kevin."
