The Black Necromancer

Chapter 388 [Bonus Chapter] Prepare For War!

Damian took in the sight of the Elven beauty before him with wide eyes. He couldn't believe that the princess of Rivera was staking it all to help the cause that his father had dedicated his entire life to.

"Greetings, Your Highness. I am Damian Dura, Crown Prince of the Dura Kingdom." Damian greeted Vera after Leon gave the cue and he stepped forward.

"Oh!" Vera's eyes widened slightly. She was surprised that such a figure had come here. Naturally, she had thought of inviting people from the Dura Kingdom, but getting them to come here would be risky, as her father had people monitoring them on a constant basis. If he was here, then there was a good chance that her father had noticed!

"If you are wondering if my absence was noticed, then there is no need to worry. I am here under the guise of visiting the Gublin Empire for diplomatic reasons. After reached the Gublin Empire, we were teleported here. They should not be suspicious for some time." Damian noticed her worry and eased her mind.

"Ah, I see. That is a bit reassuring. However, they will not be fooled for long. My father is a determined man. He has wanted to deal with the Dura Kingdom for a while now and has been looking for an excuse. The earlier war with the Demons was the perfect opportunity, but it lasted too short for him to exploit." Vera said, her face morphing into a stern expression.

"Please, come with us. There is much to discuss." Vera sighed and turned around to lead them elsewhere.

Leon nodded and followed after Vera. The others behind him did the same. Together, they all passed through many hallways and chambers that held a lot of busy people.

"Everyone here seems to be busy, what are they doing?" Leon's curiosity was piqued when he saw many large containers being carried through a particularly large passage by a few Minotaurs.

"Well, I will show you when it is time. But for now, just know that they are preparing for war against the Empire." Vera said without turning back.

For now, she did not want to expose the airships until there were a few more of them. Maybe when they had managed to build at least three of them, she would feel more comfortable with exposing their existence. After all, they were crafts that no one in the world had seen yet.

Soon, they arrived in a large meeting room where they all sat around a large round table with the map of Rivera spread over it.

Leon examined the map for a moment before asking, "Where are we right now?"

"Sorry, but I can't tell you that right now." Vera gave a small smile.

"It's fine. I pushed the boundary a bit with that question. But I don't expect to be kept in the dark about so many things since you need my help with this war you want to fight." Leon replied.

"Of course, this is only a temporary measure until we are ready to reveal these secrets to you. It is for our safety as much as yours." Vera nodded and said sincerely.

After that, they waited a bit until several other people had arrived. Leon was surprised when a small being that had the rough physique of a human walked into the meeting room. The stone being paused under Leon's gaze and looked over.

"What are you looking at? Never seen a small golem before?" He asked with an irritated tone.

"Ah, no, well, not one as small as you are." Leon replied, not knowing the kind of bomb he had just set off.

"..." Vera's eyes went round.

"..." Many others also stared at Leon with wide eyes.

"...What did you call me?" The golem walked up to Leon and stood right in front of him, staring Leon down. Leon's own eyes widened as he realized where he had gone wrong.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to call you... that. It's just, it was a natural instinct." Leon chuckled awkwardly.

"You're lucky I'm not in the mood to deal with people like you." The golem grit its teeth and turned around to take a seat.

A silence stretched out for a few seconds before Vera cleared her throat.

"Ahem. Now that we are all here, let's get down to business."

"Your Majesty." Dyson appeared in the throne room where Alvar had just finished addressing some matters with his noble subjects.

"Dyson. What is it?" Alvar looked at Dyson with a confused expression. Dyson was supposed to be elsewhere right now.

"I found traces of the rebels, but I was unable to follow them." Dyson reported.

"Tell me more."

"I was flying through the southeastern part of the continent when I felt the presence of multiple powerful people gathered. As I was nearing, they all moved and then vanished. Just before I could follow, they were gone, and there were no traces that I could use to chase after them." Dyson reported.

"I see..." Alvar rubbed his chin. "It seems the rebels are growing restless. They cannot stand the status quo much longer."

"I agree, Your Majesty. There is a good chance that they will strike one of our strongholds soon. Within the next half year sounds plausible." Dyson provided his thoughts.

"Yes, yes. Prepare our armies. Once they strike, we must lash out in full force and squash them." Alvar stood up from his throne and folded his arms behind his back. "Rally the council, we must prepare for war!" As he stood, his green and silver robes morphed, turning into green and silver armor that glistened under the light that was pouring in through the stained glass that was up in the wall behind him.

"As you wish, Your Majesty." Dyson bowed his head again and his body turned illusory.

When Dyson left, Alvar's armor turned back into robes and he sat down on his throne. He tapped on the armrest of his throne as he thought.
