283 We will take good care of the innocent and punish the wicked.
“Here...,” said Zi Xingxi pressing an untraceable laser shotgun pistol onto his chest. Zi Han held it with an unfocused gaze staring into the memory of the only conversation he had ever had with his father.
Zi Xingxi wrapped her palm at the back of Zi Han’s neck and pulled him close. With their foreheads pressed together, she spoke softly her tone like that of the devil convincing eve that eating that apple will turn her into a god.
The man who had been beaten to the ground kept wailing and begging for mercy while mentioning his children and his charity organization.
Zi Xingxi knew this man was simply trying to get into Zi Han’s head so she whispered, “We will take good care of the innocent and punish the wicked. Understood?”
Zi Han understood. He understood everything. Seeing the clarity in his eyes Zi Xingxi’s lips quirked up as she smiled evilly.
She patted his nape twice before gently pushing him forward to face the man. Breathing heavily with beads of sweat lacing his forehead, Zi Han raised the pistol and activated it. It instantly recognized his genetic make up and it lit up.
In the inky darkness, three flashes shone before everything fell back to a state of calmness.
Zi Han felt his muscles lose all energy thus he lazily leaned against the wall wiping the blood off his face with the back of his hand. As for the seven he dealt with before, he didn’t even let them speak.
There was no need to hear them try to plead for mercy when his father didn’t get the same opportunity. This was the first time he had heard someone plead for their life using his children that he didn’t even see as a shield.
.....
Dealing with such a dirtbag was so mentally exhausting. His knees turned to jelly and he slowly slid down his back against the wall. He knew from when he snuck out of home yesterday that things wouldn’t be the same anymore but it was only now that the reality finally hit him.
Yi Chen was asking him if he could keep him company while he was doing the one thing Yi Chen was trying to prevent him from doing. He was now walking on the path his lover had tried by all means to prevent.
A self-deprecating smile appeared on his face as he buried his head in between his knees. As he slowly sank into the negative emotions, the sound of clanking heels drew back him back from the dark abyss. His mother crouched down before him and stroked his hair while commending.
“You did great... you are indeed your father’s son.”
Zi Han slowly raised his head and parted his lips to say something when an explosive sound interrupted him. The pair of mother and son turned to look in the distance when they . A mushroom-like cloud of yellow and red flames reflected in their pupils. It seemed Capital Star was on fire.
They rushed over to get a clear view. The entire city seemed to have been set alight. In truth, it was no accidental fire but a creature twice the size of Hydra at its fullest capacity.
It had the head of a dragon with four horns structured like thick tree brunches growing haphazardly. It walked on two limps like humans with a tail like that of a lizard sweeping through the buildings. Its arms had claws for fingers with chains wrapped around its wrists.
When it bellowed it blew out a stream of fiery inferno melting anything and everything in its path. Surrounding its body was a grey armor that looked like it was carved out of stone.
Sheba activated the emergency protocols of Capital Star and the part of the city it was breaking havoc at was suddenly closed off with a powerful shield that one couldn’t break out of but can only break into.
Lynn Feng slid his chair to another control panel in the warship and a floating screen with all the planets in the solar system was blinking red reporting major attacks in their capital cities.
“Uh... Sister Xi, the entire Federation is under attack. Same monsters different sizes,” she said at a loss of what to do.
“How is Sheba holding up?” asked Zi Xingxi while sending a message to Marshal Yi.
“It managed to isolate the beasts but the people within the isolated area are currently in distress,” replied Lynn Feng the anxiety in her voice apparent.
“Authorize all members of the Bloodgarde to assist as much as possible,” said Zi Xingxi before cutting the line.
She grabbed Zi Han by the back of his neck her grip soft as she asked, “Are you coming with?”
Zi Han nodded his head and his mother warned him, “Don’t overdo it. The Federation isn’t ready to know who you are yet.”
Zi Han nodded his head again activating Igneous still disguised as his old mech. Chronos followed with Secretary K right behind him after disposing of the body.
In the middle of Capital Star right beneath the giant monster a man dressed in a bright red and golden cloak with a design unfamiliar to the Federation walked in slow strides with an arrogant smile on his face.
His expression proud of the chaos raining down on the Federation he stretched out his hands and laughed haughtily. They might have numerous privileges and advanced technology but they were still brought to their knees by a civilization far inferior when it came to advancements.
He wanted to see it with his own eyes. He wanted to see with his own eyes the federation burn to the ground. It was because of his own conceited and arrogant personality that he decided to come and witness this masterpiece himself and he chose the pillar of the federation as his colosseum.
But before any substantial damage was done he realized that the Federation was more prepared than he thought.
They had divided Capital Star into sections that in the event of an attack they would erect barriers in the areas where the creatures or be it monsters appear. This was their first line of defense before the response team arrives.
Within the chaos, the man sneered while glancing around looking for a way to bring this barrier down. If he had known this would have happened he might have brought even more creatures at once. The only thing that stopped him before was because he didn’t want to put a strain on his human transport system.
If the system overloads then he would lose his biggest advantage altogether. He didn’t want to overdo it but the Federation was truly testing his patience.
The first response had already reached the scene fighting off the beast. Among them were the Marshal and Yi Chen. If they had known this evening would end up like this they would have cherished Ming Ming’s movie night.
