Chapter 166: Dao Repository!

Under the guidance of the black donkey, before long, a person, a donkey, and a small stone figure arrived at the shore of a vast lake.

On the lake, various petals floated, creating a colorful scene with a delightful fragrance.

"Kid, this is the array set up by the Tianbai Emperor. It's right beneath this lake," the black donkey said, pulling out a shiny blue pearl from somewhere.

The pearl hovered above one of the black donkey's hoofs and floated in front of Ling Feng. "This is the Water-Resistant Pearl. I'm lending it to you for now. Remember to return it to me after you're done using it, or else I'll bite you to death!"

As it spoke, it barked a few times and put on a fierce and ferocious appearance.

Ling Feng took the Water-Resistant Pearl, feeling speechless. Is this black donkey really a donkey or a dog?

"Hold onto the Water-Resistant Pearl and follow me," the black donkey instructed, then with a plop, it jumped into the lake. Immediately, a transparent film enveloped its body, parting the water as it descended, leaving the donkey completely dry.

Ling Feng gripped the Water-Resistant Pearl and jumped into the water, following behind the black donkey.

The black donkey dove down hundreds of meters in one breath. The lake water was very clear, but unfortunately, there wasn't a single fish. No wonder the black donkey kept complaining that it hadn't eaten meat in hundreds of years.

The lake was extremely deep. Ling Feng followed the black donkey and dived for more than five hundred meters before finally reaching the bottom of the lake.

No wonder the black donkey gave him a Water-Resistant Pearl. Under more than five hundred meters of water, the air was thin, and the water pressure was immense. This was something Ling Feng was currently unable to bear.

The black donkey stepped on the soft mud at the bottom of the lake and strode forward, while Ling Feng didn't say much and just quietly followed behind.

The further they advanced, the more Ling Feng felt the surrounding spiritual energy becoming increasingly dense.

Zifeng couldn't help but exclaim, "Could it be that there's a vein of elemental stones here?"

Ling Feng took a deep breath and felt that the injuries in his body had improved somewhat.

After a while, the black donkey finally stopped and glanced back at Ling Feng, saying, "Kid, this is it. You go in by yourself. The Tianbai Emperor set up a restriction here. I can't enter."

"So that's how it is?" Ling Feng touched his nose bridge, nodded slightly, and said, "Alright, then I'll go in by myself."

"You better not play tricks, Kid, or you're as good as dead!" threatened the black donkey, lifting one of its hoofs.

"Don't worry, you just stay here. How could I play tricks? I'll go in first!"

With a faint smile, Ling Feng strode forward and walked into a cave at the bottom of the lake.

After passing through a pitch-black tunnel, the scene suddenly opened up before his eyes.

The walls were embedded with countless luminous pearls, illuminating the entire space brightly.

On the rock wall, Ling Feng could vaguely see a sparkling ore vein that resembled a long dragon coiling around in this place.

Just by simply digging down, one would find elemental stones everywhere!

Ling Feng swallowed hard. Previously, Elder Yao had given him hundreds of elemental stones, but compared to the elemental stone vein here, they didn't even amount to a fraction!

The elemental stone vein was extremely precious. Even the imperial family of the Tianbai Empire only controlled a dozen or so veins, and most of them were of poor quality and barren.

The vein that Ling Feng was seeing now seemed to be made entirely of elemental stones. There was no need for purification or processing; every piece was pure elemental stone!

Ling Feng inhaled more of the spiritual energy that was being dispersed into the air and found that his true qi unexpectedly began to stir uncontrollably. It was as if his third meridian gate would open at any moment!

Ling Feng surveyed his surroundings for a while before finally calming the excitement in his heart. He suppressed the urge to stay here and mine directly, and instead walked into a cave ahead.

As soon as he stepped inside, Ling Feng felt that the richness of spiritual energy had increased even more. It seemed that a special array was concentrating the spiritual energy of the vein, forming a spirit-gathering array.

"The patterns on the rock walls are very peculiar. Could they be the runes of the array?"

Ling Feng looked around for a moment, then stepped forward and continued on his way.

After a while, Ling Feng finally reached the end.

"There's no more path ahead. This must be the end of this vein of ore." Ling Feng breathed in deeply, marveling. "The spiritual energy here is ten times richer than outside the cave, and a hundred times stronger than the outside world. Breaking through in cultivation here would be absolutely perfect!"

As Ling Feng looked around, contemplating how to find the sealing array of the Misty Ghost Forest, a very old voice suddenly rang out, saying, "After hundreds of years, did that donkey finally let someone in here again?"

"Who? Who's there?" Ling Feng's heart tightened, and he immediately drew out the Eradicator of Realms and held it in front of his chest.

"You don't need to worry, young man. I won't harm you," the elderly voice said with a hint of arrogance. "Eighteen years old with two meridian gates and a mediocre aptitude, but you seem to have a spiritual body with both fire and water attributes. Well, let's just let you try it out."

With that, Ling Feng felt an invisible force pulling his body firmly, dragging him into a distorted space ahead.

In a hurry, Zifeng quickly transformed into a flame and retreated into Ling Feng's dantian.

In an instant, the distorted space turned into a black vortex, sucked Ling Feng in, and disappeared without a trace.

...

"Where is this?"

After a brief moment of blindness, Ling Feng once again saw light and realized that he was on a vast platform. The platform floated in mid-air and measured over thirty zhang wide.

In the center of the platform stood a statue of a formidable-looking human figure. Clad in armor and wielding a longsword, the statue exuded an invisible aura that compelled reverence from anyone who beheld it, despite being just a sculpture.

Just as Ling Feng's mental defenses faltered and his knees began to buckle slightly, his eyes suddenly burned with intense heat. In an instant, his mind was assailed by what felt like a thunderous explosion, accompanied by an incredibly piercing howl.

Ling Feng snapped back to attention, and upon another glance at the statue, he realized it no longer seemed so invincible.

"Resolute in mind, eh? You have some strengths after all," the elderly voice sounded again. "Kid, welcome to my Dao Repository."

"Dao Repository?"

Ling Feng paused for a moment, then quickly realized that the Dao Repository referred to legacies left behind by powerful individuals during their lifetimes.

He had initially intended to break the array and escape the Misty Ghost Forest quickly. However, it seemed that he had stumbled into a place where a powerful human cultivator's legacy was stored by sheer accident.

And according to the earlier statement of the black donkey, this human cultivator might very well be the Tianbai Emperor!

Ling Feng took a deep breath, calmed his mind, and shouted, "Who's speaking? Show yourself! Don't hide!"

Just as Ling Feng finished shouting, the statue shimmered with a moon-white light, and with that light came an old man in a gray robe. His robe was adorned with the sexagenary cycle[1], as well as the symbols of yin and yang. He emanated an aura of profound cultivation and wisdom.

In contrast to the imposing and domineering figure of the statue, this old man exuded a gentle and amiable aura.

"Are you the Tianbai Emperor?"

Ling Feng stared at the old man in the gray robe and asked.
