1452 Training Commence
While 0541 got to work, Jiang Fei returned to Hyur instead, to purchase resources to operate the Chrono accelerator.
Hyur might be the planet where soldiers went to relax, having more than enough brothels and other means of entertainment, but there were still other services provided there. Among them were supplies for ships, including but not limited to weapons. Basically, as long as one had a deep enough wallet, one could get anything done in the Trade Federation. In just one afternoon’s time, Jiang Fei had completed his purchases.
“Bison, get Meteor ready. We are going to leave soon,” Jiang Fei alerted Bison. During this time, most, if not all, of the soldiers under Jiang Fei’s banner had roamed the entirety of Hyur. Since all expenses were paid by General Lockseed, they truly enjoyed their stay there. If they were honest, they overdid it a little.
“Aye, sir,” Bison acknowledged the order and transmitted a return order to all soldiers. Jiang Fei specified that they were to return to Meteor in exactly six hours.
“Bella, get ready. We will soon depart for Turandot,” Jiang Fei told the girls when he returned to Meteor a little earlier. Turandot was the name of the planet that was governed by the Trade Federation and owned by Wagner. This was the place where Jiang Fei was going to send the girls off for training.
Everyone was already ready for Jiang Fei’s announcement for training. Despite not wanting to leave his side, everyone knew how just weak they were when compared to even his soldiers. As long as they were not as strong as Jiang Fei, they would be a hindrance to him in battle. All had concurred for the training, wishing for themselves to be stronger in order to serve Jiang Fei better.
Jiang Fei got Meteor ready and while the rest of his soldiers were still finding their way back to the hangar, he got the ship up and running and headed into space.
He had no intention to participate in the training session with the girls. He had reached a state of power where consuming Ultralisk meat no longer benefited him. What he could do, what he must do, in order to become stronger, was to subject himself to a truly hard situation or life-or-death battle.
Everyone was ready and Jiang Fei activated the ship’s warp core. Since 0541 was physically controlling a plethora of mechanisms on Planet C195, Jiang Fei had to manually control the ship on his own.
“Commencing Hyperspace jump.”
THUMP.
The ship made the leap and entered Hyperspace. Their destination was Turandot, a planet located in the same galaxy as Hyur. The entire trip was short and fast; it took Meteor only a few seconds to reach as Turandot was only less than 200 light-seconds away.
“This is Captain Jiang Fei of the Meteor Hypercruiser. Requesting permission to dock on Turandot,” Jiang Fei hailed a landing request as soon as his ship was coming into the planet’s orbit.
“Welcome, Captain Jiang Fei. Young master Wagner has informed us of your arrival. Please follow the control instructions and guidance escorts. We have prepared a designated hangar bay for you,” a reply came.
A few minutes later, a squad of brightly lit ships came from the planet to escort Jiang Fei safely into the hangar bay. It seemed that Wagner had done what he could to facilitate Jiang Fei’s arrival. There were even heavy-duty hovercraft transport shuttles when Jiang Fei came out of the ship. Wagner knew the reason for Jiang Fei’s arrival and had arranged accordingly.
“Make sure Mr. Wagner knows that I am truly grateful for his help,” Jiang Fei informed the welcoming party.
Without wasting any more crucial time, Jiang Fei entered the lead shuttle while the others followed. Hua Mulan stayed behind for a while as she took care of the soldiers of the New Saint’s Guards. When everyone was in order and had boarded the shuttles, Jiang Fei signaled the drivers to start moving.
“I’m sorry that I can’t be with you during your training. Make sure that you make every second count. I do not know how long I can give you. I just hope that those guys will not attack so soon,” said Jiang Fei. He was not divulging any information since there was foreign presence then. Even so, the girls knew what Jiang Fei was talking about; it was about the invaders from the Gamma Dimension.
Those “players” from the higher dimension had been rather active and no one could tell when the main invasion force would arrive. When it comes, and it will, it would be a trial for Jiang Fei to overcome.
“We will! I will! All of us will train as hard as we can!” Hua Mulan represented the entire New Saint’s Guard and announced her will to train.
“You do what you must, darling. When training is over, I will make sure that you’ll see a new side of me!” Isabella buried her face in Jiang Fei’s chest as she made her promise.
“I’ll take good care of everyone here,” Nina declared.
“Thank you, Nina,” Jiang Fei replied.
“I’ll leave the Ultralisk meat here with you. I will come back to see all of you when I can. Since time flows differently in the training room, it will be months or years for you but days for me. I hope you understand this,” Jiang Fei explained. Truth be told, he had spent a good number of days missing from Earth. Just when he was reunited with them, they had to be separated again for a period of time.
“Ah Fei! I would like to train as well!”
A timid little figure came shouting from behind. Her pair of cat-ears wiggled anxiously as she declared her wish. Her voice shook as her eyes reflected determination and excitement.
“Sarila? How are you here?” Jiang Fei gasped. He was sure that Sarila was not part of the training program or of his female soldier group.
“I know I’m too weak. But I do not want to be useless when the other sisters could be strong! I want to do something as well! I cannot always be hiding behind you! Please! Let me train with them! Let me serve you better!” Sarila said determinedly.
“This… erhm… but…” Jiang Fei choked.
“Let the girl stay with us,” Isabella chimed in. Her heart melted seeing how the poor little kitten was willing to subject herself to harsh training. Even though her current feelings might not be genuine, the girls did not care for it. Isabella and the others had pitied both Sarila and Kaa’lna being affected by the unknown black matter.
“Very well,” Jiang Fei gave in. Since Isabella was alright with it, he had no reason to deny Sarila her desire to train.
In all honesty, Sarila’s strength was beyond weak. It was especially obvious when Kaa’lna and Bison were the only two powerful fighters. Even Isabella was way stronger than her, measuring at over 2,000,000 combat level when Sarila was only 900,000.
When the girls entered the training room, Jiang Fei started to work with the operators of the Chrono accelerator. He passed all the necessary materials needed to operate the room and made sure that the girls’ daily needs; food, water, and others; were taken care of.
As soon as the machines started to whirl, Jiang Fei could literally see how fast the machine consumed the resources. Even though he had over three billion aetheryte worth of materials at hand, the machine was consuming resources like a hungry, hungry hippo! Jiang Fei had only less than a month’s time to start earning more money or he would not have enough to continue funding the girls’ training program.
