Systemless in a Parallel World

Chapter 196 Liberation War - Demon (2)

Zayn pulled the Dragontale Twin Sabers out of the Demon Adel he killed. He lifted his head and looked in the direction of the Infernal Demons.

The corners of his lips curled upward, and Zayn lifted one of the sabers to point them at his opponents.

At the same time, ice-cold energy emanated from the other Dragontale Saber which he slashed to the side. More than a dozen Demon Overlords died from the glacier slash he nonchalantly released, and a dozen Demon Overlord Spirits manifested only moments later.

The terror caused by Inferno, Thunder, Bulk, and the three Infernals resulted in the death of thousands. Zayn used his control of Soul Wisps to extract the deceased's Soul Essences and manifest their Spirits one after another.

Slowly but steadily, the number of his Spirits increased, and it wouldn't even take half an hour before ten thousand powerful Spirits would fight by his side.

The Infernal Demons understood that they had to intercept before that could happen. Their armies had been defeated, but they were still full of power.

Terrifying roars shook heaven and the earth. In the next moment, the Infernal Demons kicked out of the air, rushing toward Zayn. They struck down their weapons with the same goal in mind; kill the Spiritmancer.

Zayn swung the Dragontale Twin Sabers calmly.

Zayn and the Infernal Demons clashed.

Clang!

A metallic sound rang out.

"Argh!"

And a pained groan escaped Zayn's mouth.

The force traveling through the Dragontale Twin Sabers far exceeded his imagination.

Zayn had never been subject to such enormous force. He might have fought a few Heroic Soul Saints and Infernal Demons, but he never clashed with them head-on.

He advanced far into the Soul Adel rank, but he had yet to become a true Soul Saint. The Infernal Demons unleashed their Devil Transformation, amplifying their strength drastically, and they crossed blades with Zayn. Their relentless attacks forced Zayn to retreat, but they were never enough to cut into his flesh.

Whenever an attack was about to reach his body, Zayn either twisted his body until the pain was too much to bear, or released a sudden spurt of energy, forcefully redirecting his opponents' attacks.

The weight of several Infernal Demons continued to crush down on him even as he tried to evade the attacks of other Infernal Demons.

Dozens of Demon Adel were also trying to attack him at the same time, but there was only that much space for everyone. Trying to squeeze in to help kill Zayn, a small mountain soon formed around him. The Demon Adel were either severely injured or already on the verge of death. Yet, they still tried to be of use to their master. They didn't want to die a useless death. That would be the worst.

However, Zayn didn't want to grant them their wish.

He took a deep breath, accessed Inferno's Soul Symbol, and unleashed the true power hidden in the Soul Symbols.

Every Spirit stored inside the Soul Symbols of the Soulrings imprinted a mark of their power into the Soul Symbol. This power mark allowed the Spirits to create an anchor and return inside the Soulring even after they died in their Spirit form. Once their soul particles reached a dangerous threshold, the power mark would forcefully pull back the Spirits.

However, that was not the only perk of the power mark. When engraved on the Soulrings, the power marks also allowed the Spiritmancer to tap into the power of his Spirits.

Blazing flames burst out of Zayn suddenly, and purple lightning crackled around him. The Soul Adel burned to a cinder while the Infernal Demons were slowing down in shock.

The blazing flames turned into a sea of flames. They devoured everything in their surroundings and turned them into ashes. The purple lightning continued to crackle as it flashed through the sea of flames like a sea serpent in it natural habitat. The serpent of lightning attacked all hostile lifeforms, injuring them. The lightning bolts spread through the Infernal Demons' bodies, and they lost sight of Zayn before they realized.

What replaced Zayn was a sea of flames, four Heroic Spirits, and three Infernal Demon Spirits overflowing with power.

The pressure on Zayn eased, but he didn't dare to think that the fight was over. The Heroic Spirits and the Infernal Demon Spirits might be in possession of near-unlimited energy thanks to the high supply of Soul Orbs, but they were still of a lower rank and fewer in number.

Zayn merely wanted some time to expand his Spirit Army. That would be more than enough to turn the tides of the battle. It would disrupt the balance and allow the Normies to overpower their opponents.

There were more than enough Soul Wisps which he could manifest, and he had yet to use the thousands upon thousands of Soul Orbs that were waiting for him to use inside the Silvermoon Bracelet.

He had yet to use them, and something told him that now was not the time. Not yet!

ƥαṇdα- ηθνε|·ƈθm Suddenly, an alarmingly powerful force cut through the air and rushed toward his right.

Zayn quickly exerted Cy-Stride and pushed to the left while lifting his Dragontale Twin Sabers to block whatever was about to appear to his right.

Clang!

The moment the metallic sound echoed once again; Zayn knew that something was wrong.

'Fuck!!'

He was flung through the air, unable to twist his body to evade the attack or leverage the impact of the incoming attack.

Zayn smashed into the ground and was dragged through the mud until he finally came to a halt, leaving behind a 20-meter-long trail in the mud.

A light-devouring shadow cleaved down on him before he could get up from the ground. Zayn moved his arms instinctively, and he managed to barely block two more strikes before the third full-power attack cut down on him.

'This bastard! He joins, at last?' Zayn cursed in his mind as the light-devouring shadow vaned, unveiling the appearance of the Demon King.

The Demon King finally joined the battle, his target being none other than the Spiritmancer.
