I Do What I Can (1)

In the Crystal Palace to the east of the Allendia royal palace, a blond young man jumped into a group of dozens of angels.

He charged in recklessly, throwing terrifying punches all over the place.

“Ahhhhhh!”

With every passing blow, the angels’ heads burst, and their limbs were torn apart.

In the bloodbath, the young man, Leon Hart, looked back.

His eyes turned to the Nymph couple, who was hiding in a corner.

“Fortunately, both of you are safe.”

With a sigh of relief, Hollien thanked him.

“Thank you, Lord Leon Hart.”

Leon Hart replied solemnly.

“O sinner, your sins must be judged by the Goddess. I can’t hand you to the Devil.”

Hence, Hollien had to be safe.

Even though she had lost her power, her knowledge and wisdom didn’t disappear. Leon Hart had yet to learn all of the vast Spiritual arts of the Transcendental as well.

“Join the others and take refuge.”

Loflan lifted Hollien, supporting her. He then looked back at Leon Hart with a wry smile.

“Saving my wife is understandable, but I am nothing but a useless sinner, yet you saved me.”

“Why are you a sinner? Your only sin is that you married the wrong person.”

“I married a good woman. I just didn’t look after my wife properly.”

Loflan smirked.

“It’s my fault, so it should be my responsibility, right?”

The couple quickly exited the palace.

After confirming that they got out safely, Leon Hart flew again.

The palace was spacious and had many inhabitants.

He kept saving people and smashing angels.

“I’m just a human being.”

There was no distinction between royalty and nobility, servant and maid.

He just fought and saved as he saw.

“I just do best what I can do.”

At the northern gate of Armorica, angels followed a procession of refugees.

Up there, the red-haired Mage was casting a magic spell.

At the same time, Artis raised the Fire Dragon King’s Staff high.

The greatest and strongest spell he could use was invoked.

“Meteor Swarm!”

Hundreds of fireballs fell across the sky.

Boom!

His magical power had grown stronger, perhaps thanks to the rise in his level, causing each fireball to be more than moderate magic.

If it fell on top of the capital, it would lead to terrible destruction.

“I never thought I’d use this magic in the middle of the city.”

Artis clicked his tongue.

“A sane Mage should never do it…”

The Meteor Swarm hit his targets, falling on top of many angels.

“… There are so many of them that my attack won’t hit the refugees.”

An endless display of fireworks covered the entire sky of the capital.

Boom!

Amid the heavy heat, the silver-maned Wyvern shot past.

The angels who didn’t get hit by the Meteor Swarm flew after her.

Of course, she just played around with them.

They didn’t dare chase the Wyvern.

“Don’t expect me to fly well! This is so uncomfortable!”

It was not enough for her to outrun the group of angels in an instant. She also quickly took control of the group behind them.

The black Wyvern spewed out Breath.

Boom!

No angels were shot down.

In her original form, Effir’s level was significantly lower. Although the power of Breath had become much stronger, it wasn’t enough to harm angels.

It didn’t matter, however. Fatal injuries weren’t her goal from the beginning.

Thanks to her offensive, the angels slowed down.

That was enough.

“Yay!”

The big Wyvern disappeared, and a silver-haired girl, who narrowly covered only the important parts, appeared in the air.

She activated Magic Swordsmanship, grasping double swords tied to her wrists.

-Magic Swordsmanship: Fangs of the Storm Dragon!

Dozens of lightning spread all over the place.

The angels were torn apart simultaneously.

Usually, that kind of rampage had a low hit rate, but it hit everything even though the trajectories were random.

Boom!

There was no scream.

The angels died laughing.

Beyond the falling angels came more of their kind, their faces full of smiles.

“Are you laughing?”

Effir continued her offensive.

“Even after all this?”

With anger, her twin blades danced.

“Come on, keep smiling!”

A graceful sword dance severed the angels apart.

“I’ll split your faces in half!”

Effir continued to slaughter the angels, alternating between Wyvern and human forms. Her techniques filled the sky endlessly.

Amid the chaos, an old man on the ground spread the light of spiritual art.

“Althea! Protect us!”

He energized his allies.

“Rhamniana, let your tears cleanse our wounds! Yessen, let your flames be our blade!”

He healed the injuries of those who fought and sharpened their weapons.

“Sorondi’s great evil rises before me!”

A huge spiritual wall blocked the incoming angels.

With vast Prana, Plater protected everyone, almost as if he had become an impenetrable fortress himself.

But his breathing was running wild.

“Gasp, gasp…”

He had enough Prana, but his physical ability was lacking.

Plater lamented, feeling the pain coursing through his body.

“Oh, I should’ve worked out when I was young…”

In the burning house, a mother and her child crawled on the heated floor in terror.

“Ahhhhhh…”

An angel was walking in.

Neither the blazing flames nor the suffocating smoke affected the angels. He smiled at the two, holding his sword as if he meant no harm.

The woman covered the kid.

‘Let us die peacefully.’

If they died like that, there would be no more pain or fear.

But the angel didn’t attack.

After a brief look, he turned away with a smiling face.

The mother was taken aback.

The angel, who had brutally slain knights and soldiers of the Fairy Kingdom, didn’t kill powerless and humble people.

At that moment, a burnt rafter fell to the floor and set off a fire.

Fluttering!

“Argh!”

The child screamed.

The mother looked around frantically.

Fire surrounded them, leaving no way to get out, and the smoke kept them short of breath.

“Cough! Cough!”

They thought they survived, but death was still right around the corner.

“Goddess!”

Though she prayed out of habit, she gave up inwardly.

The great Goddesses no longer protected Latna.

At that moment…

Boom!

One side of the wall burst with the explosion. The surrounding flames were also blown away.

Beyond that, a beautiful black-haired woman was shouting, holding a long spear, and emitting a pitch-black Aura.

“Get out of here!”

The mother scrambled to her feet with her child.

“Ah…”

There was a way out! There was a way to run away!

They didn’t even have time to thank her. Amid the chaos, the mother ran frantically.

Only the child in her arms looked back at the beauty and shouted.

“Thank you, sister!”

Looking at the two, Kibie had a sad look on her face.

‘I am more grateful.’

She turned around.

There were bodies everywhere in the burning city.

Those who failed to be protected by the one that should protect them.

Those who failed to be cared for by the one who should care.

“Thank you for reaching out to me…”

* * *

Ectos of Earth was at a loss.

“That’s strange.”

He overlooked the entire city of Armorica from above, watching tens of thousands of angels slew Latna’s powerful individuals as they destroyed the heart of the nation.

“Did we carry out the command?”

Armorica and the king had been destroyed.

Buildings collapsed, roads were demolished, and its citizens had scattered and left the city.

With this much damage, the capital could no longer function properly.

It should be hard for Allendia to function as a nation, too.

“Or have we yet to complete the mission?”

Too many survived.

It was good for the weak to escape alive.

But it wasn’t ideal to have too many strong individuals left.

“Omphalos told me to thin them out.”

Ectos concluded.

He had yet to carry out the command completely.

Then what should he do?

He thought about it and soon found an answer.

The number of people who twisted the current situation was not that high.

To be exact, there were only six of them.

Only the incarnation of darkness, Kibie, and her party were defending Latna.

‘There’s one more aside from the Top Four. They’re such a drag.’

They were taking the lead in preventing the attack of angels throughout the city.

That brought together people who had to be scattered.

Because of the united resistance, those who had to die rose again.

“That’s why we have to break their bonds!”

Ectos of Earth, who understood Omphalos’s order belatedly, burst into praise.

“As expected, the wisdom of our Lord is infinite!”

The apostle of the Devil spread his wings, admiring his enlightenment despite it being so obvious that anyone with a brain should’ve known already.

“Then it will be my duty to punish them!”

A dazzling beam of light headed for the city and towards the black-haired beauty who was running frantically to save people.

The golden blade tore through the atmosphere.

“Woah!”

Surprised, Kibie turned around and confronted it with Blade Aura.

Two streams collided in the air, causing shockwaves.

Boom!

“Ugh!”

With a groan, Kibie was pushed back by a few meters.

“What a surprise.”

On the other hand, Ectos did not budge.

“The divine power of the darkness must have been sealed. Is this the strength of a mortal Goddess?”

The apostle set foot on the earth.

His golden sword spewed fire again.

“You are not a match for this body shaped in the image of his grace!”

A vast haze-like offensive dawned upon her.

“Begone, spawn of the Devil!”

Kibie was about to focus and charge against him when a red flash stepped between her and Ectos.

With the vision of the world splitting up, Ectos’s attack was cut in half.

Space was crushed with a roar.

Boom!

The red giant looked back.

“Are you alright, Kibie?”

the incarnation nodded.

Ryu Han-bin aimed at Ectos with his Gigant.

“I will handle this guy. You focus on saving the people.”

There was a saying in the world that there was a right place for the right person. She did not insist on useless things.

“I’ll leave it to you!”

Soon after, she left the battlefield.

Ectos did not chase her. The savage warrior in front of him was too intimidating for that.

The energy hovering all over his body was truly extraordinary.

Even with the grace of Omphalos, he didn’t think winning was going to be easy.

“Was there still such a powerful man in the world?”

At that moment, Han-bin’s eyes opened wide.

“Huh?”

He then said something ridiculous.

“Keep talking.”

That was a far cry from the present situation.

In disbelief, Ectos asked, “… What nonsense are you talking about?”

“Huh?”

No wonder his voice sounded familiar.

-Oh, I made a mistake.

-An error appeared in the Guideline…

-Oh, maybe one is fine. There are hundreds of people. Can they hear me?

“Hey!”

Ryu Han-bin’s whole body was filled with blatant murderous energy.

“You are that guy!”
