Chapter 584: Chapter 578: Mother Bug Keller
“What you need to do now is to collect the evolutionary scheme of the Insect Species, based on the current situation.” Finn Lewis said matter-of-factly.
“All current units of the Insect Species are at their most optimum evolutionary stage. Further evolution cannot be carried out unless we collect the genomic essence of new species.” Kabbalah responded in a neutral tone.
“Can your neural network connect to the network on Earth?” Finn asked, knowing full well that Kabbalah had this capability.
“Earth’s network, primitive, backward. Can connect, need to convert simulation signal.”
Finn shrugged his shoulders, wondering how humans would feel upon learning that they had been deemed primitive and backward by insects. There was a strong sense of discord for him, but having just received information from the Icarus Insect Species within the main nest, Finn understood that Kabbalah was not exaggerating. The Icarus Insect Species could be considered a form of Wisdom Creatures, a race that had pushed biological technology to its limit. Such races were not uncommon in the universe, but none were quite like the Icarus Insect Species – a step-by-step collective form of life, their powerful combat and predatory instincts had shaped their dominant traits.
“Decide what’s needed after the first Insect Queen is successfully hatched. You two can discuss it.” Finn said directly. After giving the instructions, he left Kabbalah alone. Currently, Kabbalah did not possess the ability to modify and evolve the Insect Species units because its giant tentacles, which were like legs, had not completely taken root. Once they did, it would gain such capabilities. It is usually merged with the Leviathan.
Once it takes root fully, it will no longer be able to move, only able to connect with the Leviathan. Of course, it can stay on a planet, but the energy needed to breed a Kabbalah was immense. If it dies, Finn would have to regrow it within the main nest.
The power of the Insect Species was primarily due to this mechanism; they were pure entities created for battle, particularly the lower-ranking Insect Species. Not possessing any wisdom, they only obeyed commands without fear, unsuspecting and emotionless – the perfect machines.
Finn did not leave the underground space but waited for the new Insect Species units to hatch. An hour later, when five worker bees hatched, Finn felt as if there were five new units in his mind that he could sense, similar to how he could feel the main nest. However, he could only perceive this when his attention was focused here. When he gave it his full attention, he found he could command these worker bees.
They had no wisdom, and Finn’s orders were issued directly via the mental plane, so they could comprehend his instructions well. After conducting a test command on these massive worker bees, he quietly waited for the Insect Queen to be born.
Twenty-four hours was not long. By the time the last hour ended, Finn could see with his naked eyes the enormous structure of the Insect Queen. It was at least four meters tall, ant-like in shape with its upper half upright and dragging a large abdomen. It could birth smaller Insect Species units directly. When the queen was born, Finn could feel another consciousness connecting inside his head.
Just like Kabbalah did initially, “I pledge allegiance to you, my Supreme Ruler,” a cold voice reverberated in Finn’s mind, accompanied by the queen’s show of respect. The queen was hideous to look at, and Finn shook his head slightly. Is evolution so potent that it can’t make them look a bit nicer? Being ugly was easily associated with evil, while beauty was more likely to garner acceptance.
Just like how people instinctively suspect an unpleasant-looking person of being bad. This was fundamental in humans, or arguably, all Wisdom Creatures. “Do you have a name?” He asked, getting straight to the point.
“I go by Keller, or you may give me a name,” the queen replied.
“No need, let’s stick with your original name, Keller. Now, this is your task.” Finn closed his eyes and directly conveyed his plans to the queen via his mind. Although a novice, Finn understood the convenience of this communication method from the main nest. Besides, this mental communication can transmit more information instantly than basic linguistic communication.
“Keller understands! I will rule the entire Insect Species.” Keller replied concisely.
“Hmm, I need to take a worker bee with me. Soon, a machine will come to take it away.” Finn issued a command to Keller, then prepared to leave. The rest would be up to the queen, who would complete all tasks for Finn. As for the energy needed to reproduce the Insect Species, the worker bees would extract it from Earth’s crust. Although Earth did not have high-energy sources, these primary sources were sufficient, as Finn did not plan to wage an interstellar battle.
After giving his order, Finn left on the Red Storm. As for the rest, all he could say was, was the Beckham Ocean Kingdom ready? The feast was coming! Early on, Finn was even prepared to exchange for energy directly from Zero, and then provide it to Keller for the development of the entire Insect Species.
Exchanging energy from Zero did not consume much, and Finn could afford these points for now. The reason for taking a worker bee was that Finn did not want to put all his eggs in one basket. A single worker bee could create an entire Insect Species. Although the entire Insect Species obeyed Finn’s leadership, who knew if the queen would rebel? Finn didn’t trust her completely for now; as for the future, he would see.
When Finn returned to Celeston City, he received a call from Jack Lewis. As soon as he answered, Jack’s voice came through, “Why didn’t you answer your phone recently? Aren’t you guys too wilful?”
“Huh, what happened?” Finn choked, truly unaware of what was going on.
“You’re still asking me? Dude, even if you don’t want to negotiate, at least make it clear. We can’t reach anyone.” Jack was somewhat speechless, having attempted contact for two days without reaching anyone, be it via software or phone call. As for Finn’s whereabouts, while Jack was aware, he couldn’t personally confront him about it.
