Chapter 548 - Chapter 548: Chapter 542: If You Don’t Look for Trouble, Trouble Will Find YouChapter 548: Chapter 542: If You Don’t Look for Trouble, Trouble Will Find You
Finn Lewis hasn’t been able to spend much time at home throughout the year, and with the Spring Festival just a week away, he decided to head back to his residence in China. His return was marked with huge celebration as everyone in the family had received a house as a gift from Finn. Though they were all row houses, Finn had, by the middle of the year, instructed Jay Sommer and Olivia Thatcher to begin arranging work assignments for his family members.
The older members were exempt, but the younger ones promptly received their assignments. Notably, Finn’s sister and brother-in-law, both college students, were also beneficiaries. However, the funds had to be distributed strategically, so Finn established a separate company, divided its stocks evenly and assigned them to each family. The company was then listed under another of Finn’s companies headed by Jason Wells.
Direct family members were then integrated into the system and provided with job attendees. Those who were fit for the job were deployed into other companies. For those who didn’t make the cut, provision was made for them to however remain in the company. Though the company’s business was entirely reliant on Jason Wells’ company, the yearly profit wouldn’t dwindle. It was quite amusing to see that Jason Wells, who was once considered the most unproductive in the family, was now amongst the most successful, second only to Finn.
The transformation he had undergone within just half a year was incredible.
While Finn had the opportunity to travel home, Jason was bound to spend the Spring Festival running the businesses due to his indispensable role in the negotiations with partner companies. It was fortunate that the family members had a great relationship with Jason. They appreciated all that Finn did for them because they knew they owed their improved living conditions to his generosity.
Jayson had become one of the most important people in the family besides Finn. However, no one seemed to hold ill feelings towards him. Also, Finn’s brother-in-law, bolstered by Finn’s homecoming, boldly requested an employment; Finn naturally didn’t reject him.
On second thought, Jason might have been unsuccessful in the past but after resolving to change his life completely, his extraordinary background set him apart, making him excel in negotiations and business handling. This unexpected benefit only came to light when he decided to modify his raw habits and double down on studying zealously. His background made him more suitable for certain roles than even Finn’s brother-in-law who is a university lecturer.
The only additional person during the Spring Festival was Kay Lee, Finn’s girlfriend. Kay appeared as Finn’s fiancée. Initially, she was quite tense. However, Finn’s family, still adjusting to their new status, treated the celebrity whom they would never have dreamt of having as a daughter-in-law, with immense warmth because they were aware of the improved lifestyle Finn had provided for them.
Finn was not yet equated with the title “world’s richest man” in their minds. Even though they knew it, their perception of Finn inadvertently remained the same as when he was younger. Therefore, Kay did not endure the troubles she imagined she would. Rather, she was blown away by the warm reception she received.
Finn purchased all the houses in the estate. The place was bubbling with life as it was occupied by Finn’s family and other residents who were made up of t1000s and t2500 models. They all lived within the estate while most of them worked at several subsidiary companies run by Olivia Thatcher in Hello City. An accommodation had been arranged for Finn, but he chose to stay with his parents instead.
Their collective stay during the holiday was the ultimate joy, and the happiest person of them all was undoubtedly Zoe. The little girl had an unexplained fondness for Finn. Although she had a good relationship with Finn’s parents during his absence, she was practically inseparable from Finn upon his return, insisting on sleeping in the same room with him every night.
Fortunately, Finn’s bed was large enough. Since Kay was also present, Zoe ended up sleeping in the middle, with Finn and Kay on either side of her. This arrangement however disrupted Finn’s plans with Kay. But Finn having missed Zoe’s company for half the year, hesitated to break the little girl’s heart.
Her dependence on him was quite obvious, she saw Finn as her only family. It would take time for her to completely forget her past and build a strong bond with Finn’s parents.
For the moment, no issues required Finn’s attention. Going by prediction, the next year would be significantly busier, so he decided to peacefully spend the holiday at home. The celebration would be followed by another busy year. However, just within a week of his stay, a message from Olivia Thatcher notified him that Jack Lewis had reached out to him.
“Everyone, it has been over half a month since our last meeting. We would like to know when we can examine the goods we wish to purchase,” Jack promptly asserted, adopting Finn’s style of communication.
“Are you certain about making the purchase?” Finn was rather surprised, considering the substantial amount he had stipulated.
They had indeed arranged to make the purchase, even planning a press conference to announce their intent. As a result, Finn’s popularity soared significantly.
Finn naturally watched the press conference. He couldn’t travel home due to the press conference that held shortly after the Spring Festival. While a majority of people considered it a good thing to witness such positive change in the country at the dawn of the new year, others had different views. Finn didn’t have the luxury of spending the festival at home, but Kay got the approval of the family and was invited to celebrate the holiday with Finn’s parents at home.
As expected, Finn would probably be compelled to give out large amounts of fractions in the near future.
Finn didn’t attempt to hide anything. Despite his fame, he understood that he was only a public figure on the television or in the media. Realistically anyone who isn’t a frequently pictured star has a very low chance of being recognized on the streets.
