Chapter 79 Someone Beside the Car
"I understood from their eyes what they’re trying to say." Chen Fan glanced at the three girls at the table. "They’re wondering why I am with you."
"Just let them wonder!" Wu Ruoyu flung her long blonde hair and said, "What do you feel like having? There are many good dishes here."
"You shall decide since you’re the one treating!" The most westernized thing that Chen Fan had ever tasted was birthday cake. His only knowledge of western food was that it requires the use of fork and knife.
"Sure, I guarantee that you’ll leave with a satisfied stomach." Wu Ruoyu chose a seat by the glass window.
"Miss, what would you like to order?" The waiter held a menu, staring straight.
"Marseille bouillabaisse, foie gras, Paris lobster, red wine chicken, veal steak..." Without looking at the menu, Wu Ruoyu said a string of dishes Chen Fan had never even heard of. "Oh, and a bottle of cherry brandy!"
"Sure, please wait a moment." The waiter quickly noted down the orders and left after a bow.
"The dishes I ordered are all the restaurant’s specialties, they taste really good!"
"I’m fine with anything, as long as it can be eaten!" Chen Fan crossed his legs and started shaking them.
"Hey, it’s important to be gracious while dining at a western restaurant. Don’t behave like you’re eating at a roadside stall." Wu Ruoyu rolled her eyes at Chen Fan.
Western dining is all about ambiance. The marble fireplace, shining chandeliers, silver candle-holders, great wine, the beautiful sound of the piano, and elegant mannerisms of the diners. This itself is like a beautiful painting, but Chen Fan had to make an obvious blemish on this harmonious picture.
"Okay, got it!" Although Chen Fan gave a positive reply, his body didn’t follow suit.
"Forget it, I give up on you!"
"By the way, did those people you bashed up that time take revenge on you?" Wu Ruoyu frowned and looked a little worried. "They didn’t look like good people, you better hide if you see them again."
"Those little punks?" Chen Fan slowly straightened his body and said with exaggeration, "I’ve already thrown them into the sea to feed the sharks, how can they still take revenge on me?"
"You look hilarious when you’re bragging!" Under the dim light, Wu Ruoyu put her hand under her jaw and her eyelashes fluttered like butterflies.
"Forget it, if you don’t believe!" Chen Fan quietly swallowed his saliva. The scene in front of him made him recall something familiar.
Not long ago, he watched a movie and the scene in it was very similar to this. It had the same timing, the same conversation. After that, the female lead was verbally harassed by someone. The male lead stepped forward bravely and was stabbed by a knife. The female lead took care of the male lead the entire night and then gave herself to the male lead the next morning.
"Excuse me." An amicable voice interrupted Chen Fan’s fantasy. The waiter pushed a serving cart in front of them and said, "Your food is ready, may I serve it?"
"Sure!" Chen Fan waved his hand, signaling him to hurry up.
"Please enjoy." The waiter held the brandy with a napkin and poured half a glass for each of them, took a bow and then left with the serving cart.
French cuisine is known for being exquisite. Inside the white porcelain plate with a silver trim, the beef steak in crimson liquid gave out a buttery smell, looking attractive and well-presented.
"Tastes good!" Chen Fan took the whole piece of steak with his fork and put it into his mouth, looking very uncouth.
"Western cuisine has to be eaten slowly to appreciate its taste." Wu Ruoyu cut a piece of the steak with a knife and sent it into her mouth. "But it also looks quite delicious with you eating it this way."
"Why don’t you give it a try?" Chen Fan held the wine glass and drank some cherry brandy.
Wu Ruoyu stuck out her soft tongue and said, "There are too many people here. I can’t bring myself to do it."
"Young lady, you have to be bolder." Chen Fan sounded like a bad teacher.
"Her gentle posture and composed face was delicate and modest while singing praises of her own beauty, reassuring herself of her graciousness..." Wu Ruoyu did not continue with Chen Fan’s topic but recited some ancient poetry which Chen Fan did not really understand.
"...Ermm..." Chen Fan stared at Wu Ruoyu with a shocked and exaggerated expression while forgetting to chew on the steak in his mouth.
"Why...why are you looking at me this way?"
"If, I mean if!" Chen Fan softened his exaggerated expression and then gestured as he said, "If... I’m a blond-haired, blue-eyed foreigner who suddenly recited some poetry that even real Chinese have never heard before, how would you feel?"
"You..." Wu Ruoyu turned angry and held her fist. "I’m also a real Chinese, why can’t I recite poetry?"
"But you feel like a foreigner to me."
"Hmph, you’re old and dim-sighted!" Wu Ruoyu pouted, turning her head and stared outside, not wanting to look at Chen Fan.
Chen Fan pointed at the blonde who was in a black gown and performing at the piano. "Then can you explain to me why your facial features are so much like the foreigner playing the piano?"
"I’m not listening, I’m not listening." Wu Ruoyu covered her ears and shook her head.
"Hey?" Suddenly, Wu Ruoyu stopped and pointed outside the window. "What’s that man outside doing? He’s already walked around your car twice."
"Where?" Chen Fan shifted his gaze to the direction Wu Ruoyu was pointing at. Under the orange light, a man around 1.7 meters and wearing a black jacket was popping his head into Chen Fan’s car.
"There’s really someone." Chen Fan leaned his body in and looked closely at the suspicious man.
"Looks like a thief." Wu Ruoyu leaned her face forward. "Quick go take a look. The news always reports on car windows being smashed and the things inside getting stolen. There was even a Bentley that got smashed recently."
"Ah, I’ll go take a look." Chen Fan’s heart sank to the bottom after hearing Wu Ruoyu’s words.
However, just as Chen Fan stood up in his seat, the man probably could not see if there were any valuables inside and decided to smash the window first. He took out a hammer and hit it right on the car window. The hammer not only smashed the car window, but also broke Chen Fan’s heart into pieces.
If it had been in an online game mode, one would see Chen Fan’s anger shoot up to one hundred points. "Ah!!" The veins on Chen Fan’s neck bulged as he kicked the chair at the side and stormed out.
