Chapter 65 What to Do?
Chen Fan was exhausted after not resting for almost two days. After overturning the tugboat, Chen Fan couldn’t even care for the electric eel’s safety and slept all the way until 4PM the next day.
After filling his stomach, Chen Fan shifted his thoughts onto the electric eel. He felt frustrated looking at the GPS on the front claws! This incident of being caught by the fish net had triggered off an alarm for Chen Fan. What should he do if something like this happened again? There’s plenty of ships in the sea. Other than hiding in the deep seas, there was no sense of security at all sleeping at the shoals. Moreover, the GPS had too many restrictions, and hence disadvantageous to future journeys!
Chen Fan couldn’t come up with anything constructive after pondering over it for a long while. He let out a sigh and said, "Forget it, I’ll think about this after transporting these goods back!" Then, he controlled the eel to touch the GPS sensor with its tongue and brought the screen back to its functioning mode.
Triton Island is about 170 nautical miles from the Thanh Thuy District of Quang Ngai Province in Vietnam. It would take Chen Fan around three hours with his current speed. After carefully hanging the extra large meteor hammer around the eel’s neck and avoiding the ships, the eel avatar finally reached the beach which he had agreed on with Chen Shuguang at 7PM.
Chen Fan made a call to the guy and arranged to meet at 10PM. After that, he shifted his thoughts back to his own body temporarily and then switched on the computer to kill the next few hours. At 10PM sharp, Chen Fan’s phone rang. The guy said that the waterproofed goods had been thrown into the sea and Chen Fan could go get them.
"Quickly leave with your boat then, I’m not gonna be responsible for any lives lost!" Chen Fan hung up after threatening. The guy was indeed timid, escaping in his boat just when Chen Fan’s thoughts shifted back onto the eel. After observing the surroundings, the eel swam to the side of the goods and then grabbed the rope from the bottom. Tiger bones and bear galls were considered lightweight, high-class goods, and the three-by-two meter package was only over 500 kilos which was even lighter than the metal chain on the eel’s neck.
After returning a call to Chen Shuguang to inform him that he had already received the goods, Chen Fan controlled the eel to grab the tightly sealed goods and then quickly swam toward Zhongyun using his brain to sense the location of his own body.
After three days of swimming, the fatigued electric eel finally reached Zhongyun with a heavyweight meteor hammer and all kinds of high grade Chinese medicines. Chen Fan had a good sleep before calling the guy again to arrange for a delivery place.
"Bro, you’re really something. No wonder you’re doing so well at such a young age." Chen Shuguang was standing beside the beach with a locked briefcase in his hand and was looking excitedly at the huge gray parcel in the water.
"Haha, Boss Chen you’re not too bad either!" Chen Fan let out a laugh. "Ten million RMB worth of goods is definitely not a small amount."
"You’re too kind with your words!" Chen Shuguang opened the briefcase happily and pointed at the stacks of brand-new 100 RMB notes. "Three million RMB, not a cent less. Bro Chen, I’ve a bill counting machine in the car, shall we go over and do a count?"
"Sure!" This guy had an air of villainy all over him and Chen Fan had no reason to believe his words.
When they reached the front of the small JAC truck, Chen Shuguang took out a bill counting machine used in banks, plugged in the battery and then gestured to Chen Fan to do the counting. Chen Fan leaned to his side and said to Wang Bing who was behind him, "Go!"
Wang Bing spat on his palms and gave them a rub before putting the stacks of notes into the counting machine.
"Bro," Chen Shuguang smiled cunningly. "Come over here. I’ve got good stuff for you!"
"What is it?" Chen Fan walked over, still clueless.
"Look, what’s this?" Chen Shuguang took out two bottles with "Hennessy XO" label from under the seat and pointed at the thick black liquid inside. "This is made from matured tiger whip, together with ginseng, and other expensive stuff, using a secret recipe. Not that I wanna brag, but if you drink two small cups before you-know-what, I guarantee..." Chen Shuguang did not continue but raised his thumb and gestured to Chen Fan!
"Heh heh! Heh heh!" The two suddenly let out a series of chilling sinister laughter. If there had been a girl standing there, she would probably be violated immediately.
Their laughter was filled with aggressiveness and ravage!
"Boss, I’ve counted. It’s 3 million RMB exact!" Wang Bing passed the briefcase to Chen Fan just as the two men were discussing their topic of interest.
"Umm." With the wine bottles in his left hand and the briefcase in his right, Chen Fan said, "Boss Chen, I’ll make a move first?"
"Sure, let’s work together again soon!" Chen Shuguang waved happily.
On their way home after depositing the money in the bank, Wang Bing asked as he stared at the wine Chen Fan was holding. "Boss, is that hallucinogenic drugs you’re holding? The two of you were laughing so deviously just now that my hair was standing!"
"What do you know?" Chen Fan pursed his lips and slammed the car door.
After keeping the two bottles properly, Chen Fan laid on his bed and started to feel frustrated. The incident that happened a few days ago had been on his mind. If not settled, the GPS issue would be a big problem and might even affect his future business.
With a GPS, other than being unable to release current when he was sleeping, the battery life of the GPS was also a big issue. It could only last for a week without charging, and he couldn’t possibly use the electric current produced by the electric eel to charge it when the battery is flat! And even if this method works, six hours of charging time would probably make Chen Fan so impatient that he would want to swallow it down. But without a GPS, it would be no different from being blind.
Like most animals and even better than them, the electric eel can sense the magnetic fields of the north and south poles to tell directions. However, this ability was not able to help Chen Fan get to his destinations accurately. After all, there was no indication of places like Hong Kong, Macau, Fujian, Zhongyun, etc on the magnetosphere.
"GPS, GP..." Chen Fan pulled his hair as he thought hard on his bed. "GPS!" Suddenly, these three letters gave Chen Fan a new idea. It was unrealistic to keep harping on GPS. There can’t be high water pressure or voltage, and its battery life was short. All these restricted its ability to continue as a pathfinder. What inspired Chen Fan was the GPS’s unique localization function!
