637 I’ll be back

Kazumi passed Vlad. She sat on Vincent’s shoulder and smirked.

[This is how peaceful it normally is. So, what do you think of our soul hero?] Kazumi told Vlad.

Vlad didn’t know what to say. He was looking at a person sitting on a throne. He was surrounded by those loyal to him as if he were king. The thought of soul king instead of soul hero passed through Vlad’s mind.

Vlad could see those in front of him were showing signs and emotions of being content beside Vincent. They were full of confidence with their trust placed in him.

The many manifestations of souls with different types of forms all stayed beside Vincent to protect and be with him. Vincent was at the center of the Soul Domain and the center of everyone’s attention.

The darkness faintly illuminated with Bright’s green light was starting to fade. The light was returning, marking the end of the ten-minute mark plus the mysterious extra time they experienced.

“Please keep your word. I will faint after the skill ends. I do hope you will not kill a fainted man. I also do ho...”

*Tsk* “All right. All RIGHT! I will give you only one chance. Ruin it, and it will mark your doom!” Vlad angrily exclaimed.

“Huh?” Vlad saw Vincent smile.

.....

Vlad also saw Kazumi curve her eyes, showing she was happy. Bright glowed brighter and warmly. Wolfie barked and wagged its tail. Freerie flapped their wings in excitement. Watz showed (^w^). Helle moved the feelers of the flowers as if dancing.

Vlad blinked. The next time his eyes opened, Vlad had a blade touching his throat and a rapier touching his back, right behind the location of his heart.

“Have you returned?” Lucas asked while his blade remained touching Vlad’s throat.

“What have to do to Vincent’s father?” Asked Mimi.

Vlad could feel the blade touching his throat, held with a firm conviction to do what was needed. On the other hand, the rapier poking his back shook, undecided if it could act when needed.

“I hope you do as agreed. Stay with your daughter and...” Vincent said with a rough voice before the time was up.

Vincent’s words came to an abrupt halt. His shining green and bulging veins quickly returned to normal. The eyes’ black returned to being white, and the radiant emerald eyes dimmed.

Vincent closed his eyes and fainted. His body was about to fall, but Vlad grabbed Vincent by his bloody shirt.

“Don’t try any...” While Lucas was giving Vlad a warning, Vlad threw Vincent onto Mimi.

“We will need to have a very long talk. I will need to have you traitorous daughter make a contract for your monster lover.”

“D-d-dad...” Mimi couldn’t believe what her father said. Similarly, no one could believe Vlad. The vampire who wanted to kill Vincent without thinking about his violent actions, had decided to spare Vincent.

“Don’t act emotional.” *Tsk* “I will merely place a powerful leash on him. The moment he breaks it, I will kill him without thinking of stopping.” *Tsk* “However, this monster will only accept a leash with conditions you agree with.”

Mimi couldn’t believe what was happening right now. First, her father stopped trying to kill a person of the kind he hated the most. This was enough to make Mimi think it was a dream.

Another unexpected thing was revealed afterward. Vlad was to spend time with his daughter. Time to reconcile. Time to talk. Time to be together and partially place what happened behind them.

Mimi looked at Vincent with bloody tears of joy sliding down her cheeks.

‘You are trusting me with your life and future. I have decided. I will prove the trust placed on me isn’t in vain.’ Mimi thought.

Vlad touched the tip of Lucas’s blade and pushed it down with difficulty. Vlad’s strength had been exhausted because his Soul, the part giving power to every living being, was exhausted and injured.

Bright’s effects were similar to pain-relieving and slight soul recovery. It wasn’t enough to heal all the wounds Vlad accumulated in the two Soul Invites he participated in.

Currently, Lucas could beat Vlad after a long, dragged-out fight. But the damage to the mansion could be catastrophic.

“I will be back. ” Vlad said while walking away. His body blurred, and the illusion body vanished. The otherworlder hunter had left.

Three people, accompanied by four servants, rushed to their location. It was Leonis, Teresa, and Aceon, accompanied by their the Lionheart family’s old maid, coachman, and two of Aceon’s servants.

They were shocked to see a large fight had taken place in the garden. Furthermore, everyone was in the garden. Some were on the ground, and others were standing up.

Vincent was lying between the arms of a busty woman. Both wore damaged clothes. Vincent’s clothes were stained with a green dye, while Mimi had both green and red stains on her clothes.

After a couple of glances, they noticed the teenager sitting on a chair with wheels. She was none other than the Princess of the Lusterfall Kingdom, Anna Lusterfall.

“Mother. Father.” Said Lilith with a weary raspy voice.

“My little angel... what happened here? What trouble have we been involved in?” Teresa questioned while quickly pacing towards Anna.

Teresa, Leonis, and Aceon quickly arrived in front of Anna. The two men bowed respectfully while Teresa respectfully curtsy.

“It is a long story...” Lilith responded. She wasn’t too sure how her father was going to take the news.

“Baron and Baronness Lionheart. Viscount Ponalis. I came to visit the man I am sponsoring.” Anna glanced at Lucas and continued on the spot, “Royal Guard Duke Lucas Hawkins insisted on testing the might of the Lionheart family branch.”

“Hahaha. I had fun, but now it is time to stop and rest for the day.” Lucas quickly continued after Anna’s lie. The two were in synch, and the lie became believable.

Teresa looked at her daughter. She understood it was a lie to hide a thing that could not be publicly mentioned. Not to mention let her husband know before the truth curse can be removed from his body.

“We understand, your highness. We will assist with taking the tired people inside and hope we do not disrespect her highness with our hospitality.” Teresa said.

“I agree, Baroness. Please relax and act normally. There is no need to be too formal and rigid. ” Anna answered as if both women were on the same wavelength and could read each other’s thoughts.

“I am pleased by your generosity, your highness.” Teresa responded.

Leonis looked around with a puzzled frown. He didn’t know what was happening nor why his wife was acting as if she knew.

Leonis pointed at Mimi and asked, “Who is that bimbo holding my son-in-law?”

“Father! Don’t mock Mimi. She is one of us.” Lilith answered before Iris, Sakura, Jun Ye Rim, and her went to help Mimi take Vincent inside.

Lucas left Vincent in their hands. He stored his weapons and returned to Anna’s side.

“Hahaha. Leonis, you are getting old.” Lucas laughed. He winked at Leonis and continued, “The woman you called bimbo is a vampire much older than you.”

I also heard she is one of his woman army... I mean harem... I mean his woman.” Lucas said while trying to find the less shocking words to tell the parents of a daughter living in such a married relationship.

“Humph!” Leonis looked at Maid Xu. “Let’s get everyone inside and welcome her, highness. I hope her highness was at least entertained to see that womanizer of a son-in-law learn a thing or two.”

*Sigh* “Sorry about my husband, your highness. He tends to be emotional when it involves our little angel.” Teresa explained.

“Hahaha. Let me join him.” Lucas left after the grumpy Leonis, and the two went inside. Aceon respectfully bowed and went after them after feeling he was going to be in Teresa’s way.

“Bilka. Go and help the residents of the mansion inside.”

“But... I have to protect you...”

“There is no more danger, and I believe the perimeter is surrounded by Royal Soldiers sponsored by the Hawkins family on standby. Or are you doubting me?”

“N-no...” Bilka looked at the residents slowly going inside. Some suffered from weak legs while the children cried themselves to sleep. “I understand. I will be quick.”

“I think you guys should also go to help. ” Teresa told the old maid and the three servants behind her.

“Yes.” They said before obeying the order and helping the residents enter the mansion.

Anna and Teresa remained in front of each other. They smiled. Teresa took a good look at the battlefield while Anna looked at the reflection in Teresa’s eyes.

“I can see that the Baroness is acting differently than the Baron. Does the Baroness perhaps have an idea of what transpired?”

“Hehe.” Teresa giggled. “I never expected to meet her highness after we have been away from the high noble circle for so long. I am pleased to see that her highness grew to be intelligent and act mature.”

“Hehe. I am also pleased to meet the mother of the woman who has the Divine Blessing trait.”

Teresa became confused as to what Anna meant. “Is Divine Blessing trait special?”

“Yes. I expect a great future for your daughter. That is why I didn’t mind making her a Baroness and letting her be free to grow as she pleases.” Anna looked at the residents going inside. “We all are tired of beaning locked in an inescapable prison.”

*Sigh* “We sure all did.” Teresa responded melancholy.
