547 Completing the job and learning about cultivators

[Congratulations on fixing the problem. Even though every upgrade will now cost forty soul power, it is great that the skill can continue to upgrade.]

-...-

[But there is no need to upgrade Soul Dimensional Storage further right now. The current size is enough to store this large mansion that is about half the size of ours and everything inside of it.]

Vincent didn’t answer Kazumi. Instead, he focused on the mansion and everything inside.

A few seconds later, the mansion turned into bright green, dematerialized into particles. Lucas, Bilka, and Anna became mesmerized by the process. It felt like an out-of-the-world experience.

After the particles entered Vincent’s body, Lucas and Anna clapped as if the magic show was over, and the encaustic clapping gave the impression of liking the show.

Only Bilka didn’t clap because she was carrying Anna. However, even if her hands were free and even if Bilka didn’t dislike the show, the chances of her ever clapping was slim to none because it would mean she accepted Vincent.

Vincent looked at his hands and felt a strange sensation.

[Is something the matter, Vincent?]

.....

-Kazumi, did something happen inside the Soul Domain?-

Kazumi looked around and noticed a new object. She became excited, and together with Wolfie and Freerie, she went to check it out.

[Hmm. The previous box-like thing became a full-fledged treasure chest. It is so beautiful.]

[The emerald treasure chest is like a grand sculpture made by the best craftsman the world had ever seen. There are also runes carved in it. Some even look like yours. It might be the rune language at this point.]

Kazumi became even more curious as to how Vincent knew something before her. [How did you know?] She curiously asked.

-When I used the intent as feelers, I felt by instinct I could store the pieces separately and reattach them inside my Soul Dimensional Storage.-

[What!!! Are you saying you can build a house if you have the materials?]

-As I said, it felt like instinct. Experience will probably be required.-

[Ahh, now I understand. It is only good for small things then. Spending years or even decades building houses to gain experience for the chance to build houses with your thoughts sounds balanced now.]

-Yeah. I would look like a god if what I am feeling right now is actually true.-

Vincent and Kazumi arrived at the same decision to test whether what Vincent felt was real or simply a feeling.

“I knew this was going to be a surprising show. I can’t wait to see my mansion relocated.”

“I am glad I came. I got to see a magnificent show. The green fireflies entering your body were breathtaking.”

*Tsk* “It is great you can at least make the princess happy.”

Vincent turned around after hearing Lucas and Anna give more praise than he expected. Lucas looked curious as to how the ability worked, while Anna was like a person excited to see something new.

The last and tallest person, the towering Bilka, was revealing a frown instead of a glare. She appeared to be in a grumpy mood instead of on high alert.

Vincent hoped Bilka wouldn’t be too alert when he was around Anna because it made him think Bilka had started to accept him. Even one percent was a win for Vincent, as spending more traveling time with someone constantly glaring was bothersome.

After giving Vincent a few more praises and curiously asking how his storage skill worked, to which Vincent repeated the same lie of the unique Soul-Bound Bag Of Holding, they left for the next destination.

On the way, Lucas finally began talking about Feng Mengli. However, both Vincent and Kazumi could understand Lucas wasn’t saying everything he knew.

Feng Mengli was a little younger than Lucas, and he didn’t have mana in his body. For humans, a person with a warrior class but without mana meant they couldn’t have a further awakening, thus having no bright future.

Cultivators are split into two categories. The rest are rare classes like Glyph Mage, which have more specialized training than category two.

First are the cultivators without mana. They master energy flow to use it for combat and use existing moves or create new ones. Feng Mengli is in this category.

Second are the cultivators with mana. Both warrior and magic classes are in this category, but the warriors would have stronger CQC while mages would have stronger mana and specialized elemental control.

This information started to shed light on why the cultivators of the North Continent are called barbarians. All the combat classes, be it physical or magic, learn CQC. It meant magic classes of the North Content fought in close-quarter combat as any ordinary warrior would.

Many people see mana as a gift that needs to be nourished and used appropriately. However, because the cultivators live on the most dangerous continent, the idea of a mage using his fists or sword to attack made the cultivators look barbaric in the eyes of the other continents.

Vincent remembered Ester mentioning how Feng Mengli used moves that looked rather similar to wind magic, yet what Ester described was far stronger than any wind magic he had seen this far.

“As I said before, Feng Mengli doesn’t have mana. However, his willpower to improve is so unyielding that he can possibly be called the strongest human without mana in the world.” Lucas responded without a hint of doubt in his eyes. Lucas spoke words he regarded as the truth.

Such information made Vincent and Kazumi’s minds go blank. Even Anna and Bilka were taken by surprise.

Lucas laughed after noticing their expressions. “After Feng Mengli fought against the Broodmother Ant Queen, he managed to improve after almost a decade of, as he said, “futile attempts.” Now Feng Mengli isn’t too far from attaining a perfect-tempered body.”

*Knock* “We have arrived.” Said the coachman before stopping the carriage.

Vincent shortly saw a large piece of land with a stone foundation surrounded by a large body of water. The closer Vincent got, the more water and less land were in his view. It made the foundation look like flat ground surrounded by a large lake.

“I think only one mermaid will feel lonely swimming in this large space.” Said Anna while her gaze looked at the large body of water with excitement.

Lucas glanced at Vincent and joked, “Maybe I will make a mermaid harem and have them move a small boat.”

“I would love to ride a boat for the first time.” Anna pleasantly smiled at the thought of experiencing a boat ride.

Vincent ignored Lucas and Anna from planning future events and walked on a few meters long wooden bridge. Afterward, Vincent summoned the mansion and everything inside of it.

*Clap, clap* Vincent was applauded again by Lucas and Anna. On the other hand, Bilka was looking at Anna with a faint smile. It appeared Anna’s happiness was her soft spot.

“It looks better than I expected. The cost of filling the large hole I dug with water was well spent.” Lucas said with a satisfied expression.

Lucas took out a stick about the length of ten inches and said, “Here, Vincent, catch.”

Vincent caught the stick and immediately understood it was a mage’s wand. He quickly checked its information and understood why this was the payment.

Vincent and Kazumi stared at the status window. Both couldn’t believe Lucas gave Vincent a wand with all the beginner effects Sakura would need to learn for the process of Karta’s staff.

“Haha. It looks like the payment is making Vincent ponder many things.” Lucas gently tousled Anna’s hair. “How about we take the surprised Vincent back home?”

“Yes. ” Anna answered with a radiant smile.

Bilka, with Anna on her back, went into the carriage. Lucas was about to enter inside. When he stopped to look back, a smirk appeared on his face. Vincent was still looking at the wand as if it was a treasure.

“Vincent. Do you want to stay here, or do you want to go to your harem? I can keep them company if you want, haha. Being surrounded by young beauties is always fun, haha.”

Vincent quickly stored the wand and rushed to the carriage.

“I can only allow one to keep you company. The others are off-limits.” Vincent said while entering the carriage and closing the door.

[Huh? I suggest it is best not to joke like this with Lucas. He might believe it is accurate.]

-I am just having some fun, hehe.-

[...]

“Which one?” Lucas questioned. His expression showed he was interested in who Vincent trusted enough to spend time with the old man.

Vincent smirked, saying, “My wolf girl Lupa would keep you good company.”

“Haha. I bet keeping me company means sparing all the time. Isn’t that right?”

“Now I feel you know everything about us.” Vincent smiled and continued, “Now I can understand how the famous hawk gaze could know everything about my wives, haha. ”

“Haha.” Lucas laughed with Vincent.

Anna and Bilka looked at each other. Anna smiled while Bilka revealed a faint smile.

The ride to Vincent’s home was filled with many jokes and laughter. Anna smiled and laughed while Bilka became in a good mood by the time they arrived in front of the Emerald Lionheart Mansions’s gate.
