“Who are you?” Shang Xia asked with a serious expression while staring at the high-level True Immortal who appeared out of nowhere.

The fourth tier True Immortal who arrived looked at Shang Xia who arrived right after he did and a look of shock flashed across his face. However, he quickly wore a smile as he asked, “Fellow cultivator, for you to be so young and already be a high-level True Immortal… you must be True Immortal Shang Xia!”

Shang Xia looked at the person who appeared as their formless divine souls clashed against each other. He didn’t respond for some time.

Eventually, the high-level True Immortal who appeared was completely suppressed and his smile became strained.

The pressure disappeared suddenly and Shang Xia muttered, “Are you from the Star Origin Dao Field?”

The casual expression on the newcomer’s face had already faded, but he didn’t seem panicked at all. Instead, he looked at Shang Xia with a profound gaze and mumbled, “How are you so sure I came from the Star Origin Dao Field?”

“Not only do I know you came from the Star Origin Dao Field. I can even guess that you came from the Star Origin Lord Manor.” Shang Xia answered in a low voice after shooting him a glance.

With his pupils shrinking slightly, the high-level True Immortal who came growled, “Looks like True Immortal Shang is really familiar with my Star Origin Dao Field. It’s no wonder you had the ability to turn my Star Observatory upside down alone back then.”

Shang Xia chuckled softly in response. “Please… Don’t joke around like this. The Star Origin Dao Field has always been a dangerous place for outsiders. Why would I dare to cause trouble like that?”

It wasn’t scary for the other party to expose his involvement. However, with no solid evidence, Shang Xia wasn’t stupid enough to admit anything. Moreover, even if they had the evidence, he had to deny it till the end.

At his current level, he had the capabilities to speak on even grounds with the other party.

Shang Xia nodded. He wouldn’t harp on the term the expert used and he simply asked another question, “True Immortal Dou, is something the matter for you to approach my Spirit Luxuriant World?”

They might be several hundreds of thousands of miles away from the Spirit Luxuriant World at the moment, but when Shang Xia intercepted Dou Jie, he naturally alerted the True Immortals of the Spirit Luxuriant World. However, there didn’t seem to be any spatial fluctuations coming from behind which would indicate their arrival which was really weird.

Other than Dou Jie, Shang Xia was sure the Star Origin Dao Field sent other experts over!

He had a bold guess on what was going on, but he didn’t show any expression.

“Are you really only here to try to stop us?” Shang Xia sneered in a mocking way.

He might have understood that their ploy to ally with the Spirit Thistle World to attack another Azure World might have gone up in smoke with Dou Jie’s arrival, but he wished to obtain more information.

A soft laugh escaped Dou Jie’s lips again. He seemed to understand the meaning behind Shang Xia’s question but he wasn’t against revealing more information. “Of course not. The Star Origin Dao Field naturally has the responsibility to maintain the balance between the various worlds. I came to stop your Spirit Luxuriant World and the previous Star Origin Guards Commander went to stop the Spirit Thistle World.”

A look of ridicule appeared on Shang Xia’s face the next instant. “What about the alliance of the Spirit Mammoth World, Spirit Abundance World, and Spirit Tinkle World? Is your Star Origin Lord Manor going to stop them?”

There might be high-level True Immortals hiding in the Star Origin Lord Manor, but high-level True Immortals weren’t cabbages that grew by the side of the road. Even with the thousand year inheritance of the Star Origin Dao Field, how many high-level True Immortals could they have produced?

In order to stop the Spirit Luxuriant World, they needed another high-level True Immortal other than Dou Jie. If the Star Origin Lord Manor still had the ability to stop the other alliance, that could only mean that they had the ability to suppress every single world that was connected to the Star Origin Dao Field!

However, if they truly had such terrifying strength, how could they sit by and watch as Zhuge Xiang was killed by True Immortals of other worlds?”

“True Immortal Shang, you seem to have forgotten that the Star Origin Guards and the Star Origin Lord Manor are a single entity. Naturally, the Star Origin Guard Commander would be responsible for stopping them.”

Shang Xia snorted in response, “Can your Star Origin Guard Commander even stop them?”

“Commander Tong has already brought the Star Origin Guards to the Azure Abyss World and activated their grand battle formation. True Immortal Shang, do you understand the true extent of the strength of the grand battle formation?” Dou Jie grinned.

Shang Xia’s expression finally changed slightly, but he didn’t try to push for an answer.

Dou Jie continued to speak as though he didn’t care about anything else in the world. “The grand battle formation being deployed means that they can stop even an expert at the Seventh Order!”

Shang Xia didn’t bother replying. After all, there was no need for Dou Jie to lie to him about things like that.

Seeing as Shang Xia wasn’t replying, Dou Jie no longer spoke. He remained suspended in the void and acted as though he was merely there to prevent Shang Xia from making a move.

Finally, Shang Xia broke the silence and asked, “Why did your Star Origin Lord Manor sit by and watch as Zhuge Xiang was killed?”

He refused to believe the Star Origin Lord Manor didn’t know anything about Tong Yutang’s plot.

What was more, Tongy Yutang could retain his position as the Star Origin Guards Commander even though Shang Xia had the Star Origin Lord Robe and could control the grand battle formation around the Azure Abyss World… That would mean that he definitely obtained new Star Origin Lord Robes, and the most plausible explanation was that it was provided by the Star Origin Lord Manor!

Dou Jie was slightly taken aback by Shang Xia’s abrupt question, but he eventually chuckled softly. “Speaking of which… I believe Grandmaster Shang had a huge hand in Tong Yutang’s promotion.”

Shang Xia snorted coldly in response, “I didn’t know anything back then. How was I supposed to know that the Variant Formation Talisman was related to the Star Robes?”

Dou Jie nodded to himself and he didn’t care if Shang Xia knew or not. He simply continued, “Zhuge Xiang’s thinking was outdated and he betrayed the ideology left behind by the Star Origin Lord which had been upheld by our Star Origin Lord Manor for the longest of time.”

“What exactly is that then?” Shang Xia pressed.

With a change in expression, Dou Jie snapped curtly, “That’s not something you need to know.”

“Alright.”

At the end of the day, it could be simply summarized into a simple case of internal strife. The only problem was the volatile Spirit Worlds who set the Azure Worlds as their targets. Everything happened because after Tong Yutang obtained the position of the Star Origin Guards Commander, their prestige had been greatly lowered.

Dou Jie seemed to have received some sort of news as he turned to stare in another direction of the void.

Shang Xia followed his gaze and saw a region of dark space.

Dou Jie’s cheerful voice soon rang in his ears. “Alright. From the looks of it, my companion is done with his matters there. I believe you understand that your far-fetched alliance with the Spirit Thistle World ends here.”

How could Shang Xia not understand? From the moment Dou Jie appeared, their plan went up in smoke!

Reality was cruel. Without absolute strength, they could only swallow the bitter pill of listening to the whims of others.

Shang Xia’s expression was terrifyingly dark. Even though he wasn’t responsible for the alliance and operation, the effort of the Spirit Luxuriant World which consisted of nearly all their strength was put to a stop just like that. Their losses because of the preparations they made didn’t matter, but the psychological blow they were dealt was probably something that would be hard to recover from even in the next hundred or so years.

From that point alone, Shang Xia was sure that it was the Star Origin Lord Manor’s intention to deal them a heavy blow at the crucial moment.

However… Shang Xia discovered something strange in the void the next moment.

Dou Jie couldn't help but laugh at the discovery. “Oh? Looks like my companion is here. Perhaps I can make the introductions…”

Before he could finish speaking, his expression changed.

Shang Xia’s cold gaze locked into the void to watch everything that was happening.

Dou Jie failed to react in time and he could only yell, “Huh?! What’s going on? I…”

“Hah!” Shang Xia snorted in response and interrupted Dou Jie before he could finish. “Oh? This is pretty interesting!”

He emphasized every part of his sentence and he released his aura completely. He even stabbed a rod-like weapon that was condensed with this Six Direction Qi into the void.

Shang Xia didn’t know who the other high-level True Immortal who came with Dou Jie was, but the other party clearly still planned to beat the only high-level True Immortal of the Spirit Luxuriant World to establish his prestige.

Shang Xia wasn’t one to disappoint. He couldn’t be happier that the other party came knocking since he was looking for somewhere to vent his frustrations.

He wasn’t really able to find an excuse to start beating up Dou Jie because of how slippery he was. Dou Jie also didn’t really seem interested in fighting because of how he had been suppressed at the start.

Now that an opportunity has arrived… Shang Xia reacted to the other party’s provocation happily! He didn’t even bother using his Holy Artifact.
