Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 184 - Mental Map Disfuction

Killing intent emanated from Klautz's body as it engulfed the last serpent alive!

"Because of you, I didn't get a stat."

Klautz had adrenaline rushing through his veins making it harder to control his temper. He wanted to obliterate the beast in front of him in the cruellest possible ways. There were no beast protection laws in hell.

This was also the very reason why hunter parties that set out to grind almost never hunted strong monsters. It is only the hunter parties that are hunting for the resources that don't shy away to fight stronger variants.

As such grinding and resource collection cannot be done at the same time. Either increase your strength or you hunt for money. Every day was a tough decision to make for the hunters. But such rules didn't apply to Klautz.

Klautz gritted his teeth. His eyes were bloodshot. Adrenaline levels were now so high in his blood that he couldn't do anything but 'kill'. He leapt at it swinging his sword.

*slash*

The scales chipped away.

"Hiss!"

It could only wallow in pain helplessly as Klautz slashed it again and again. It had no choice but to accept death. But even in its dying moments, it desired death more than anything. Klautz was killing it bit by bit in the cruellest ways possible.

The art of extortion was a perk of the ninjas. As such Klautz's cruelty was second to none even though it was only meant to be used on human targets.

"Hiss!"

But even in its dying breath, it called out to his brothers to avenge her, to kill Klautz!

*Thud*

The beasts died collapsing on the snowy floor. It hurled snowflakes all around it creating a snowy mist that was soon to collapse.

"Ha!" Klauzt got down the beast as he took out his butchering knife.

'No matter the biome, butchering never gets old.'

Soon more beasts will be flocking over thanks to the snake's call. Klautz had to finish scrounging for materials before their arrival.

Maebi watched as Klautz butchered the beasts. As more and more time she spends, she realizes that Klautz was more of a talent than her.

'If given the chance to grow, he would never end up as something simple.'

There was a reason why people moved in 'hunter parties'. It was because it was almost impossible for one person to do everything. That is why this old tradition is still followed religiously. It ensured less mortality rates.

There are different people for resource collections and hunting. So that the hunters never get tired of butchering and scrounging loot.

But Klautz? He had no problem sitting and butchering after such a heated battle. He moved as if there was no tomorrow! As if today was the last day of his life.

'I hope that he doesn't end up like me,' Maebi thought.

The world of hell itself was the problem. Here it was very hard for talents to grow without any backers. If Maebi hadn't followed Akihiko's every order even to the point of giving her virginity to Klautz, then surviving for her would have been impossible in hell.

Talent had no value without the opportunity for growth.

Let alone monsters, humans themselves would have turned against her, jealous of her talent. Her life would have been a short one.

'He would probably have no problems having a backer for himself.'

Every newbie in hell should have but one goal in mind. To get a backer for themselves and a good one at that. The newbies this year too would soon realize the reality of the matter and how important getting a 'backer' is. It is but the silence before the storm arrives.

The ones that understand its importance first would also raise their weapons first. The ones who don't are only meant to die. A bloodbath would follow.

But there were some who survived even without these 'so called' backers.

"Those who have no backers only end up like Gozoto only if they are lucky and don't die early."

"I hope Klautz gains a sensible backer."

Maebi sighed.

Akihiko was anything but sensible. She had failed to predict the value that Akihiko had. For she would be the one that would cause the rise of the ninjas.

But no matter the reason she was awe-stricken by Klautz. She wanted him to grow. He had the talent and deserved to grow. To reach a height no one had seen before.

Had Klautz heard of Maebi's thoughts he would have laughed out aloud.

Klautz knew of all of this. But getting a backer was the least of his worries. Monsters cannot harm him, if at all anyone can then it would be humans.

'If that day comes I just have to disappear in the world of monsters and beasts,' Klautz thought.

But he shook his head the next moment.

"But I would like to avoid that."

There was no worth in Klautz's survival alone.

Klautz knew that it would be close to impossible for him to win against the demons alone. He needs to influence humanity if at all he wants to stand a chance.

A lone hero cannot kill 72 demon lords. Doing it one by one? Sure! He could kill all of them that way. But in hell things rarely go the way you want. Even someone like Klautz's calculations can fail.

Just like how the demons had attacked the humans together. Humans need to retaliate together. Klautz can only try his best and take every step with absolute precision.

"Hiss!"

More serpents came in. This time there were 3 of them.

Klautz frowned. He hated it the most when things didn't work his way.

"Have I come too much inside? That should not be the caseā€¦"

Klautz shrugged. At that point he had not yet realized the cause. But he would do so soon enough.
