Chapter 119: The Singer in the Memories (4)

“Suh Hyun-Woo's Genius Moments” was a phrase that had become legendary among the Rings, a secret that Chronos was yet to discover.

Every Chronos devotee was aware of Suh Hyun-Woo's stellar stage presence, but there were times when his performance was so breathtakingly masterful that it left a lingering ache. Even though he was a rookie, his nuanced expressions, the effortless command he held over the stage while his voice cut through the music, and the flawless precision of his dance moves were occasions that had earned the moniker of “Suh Hyun-Woo's Genius Moments.”

And today, Suh Hyun-Woo was about to etch another such moment in history, as he stood on a university’s festival stage in Seoul.

“It's insane. It's been ages since I saw the performance of 'Chronos,' but why is Hyun-Woo on another level today...." A fan's words trailed off as she became utterly engrossed in Suh Hyun-Woo's presence.

The stage lights, diffused by the rain, created a mesmerizing blur, while Suh Hyun-Woo's newly dyed platinum blonde hair complemented his flawless skin. Adorned in a frilly medieval-style shirt, snug black pants, oversized jewel earrings, and choker, all accentuated by the day's heavier eyeshadow, he looked more elaborately styled than ever before, even surpassing his appearances on broadcasts. Whether it was the stage or the rain enhancing his features, he exuded an ethereal aura.

One thing was certain: Suh Hyun-Woo, captured through the camera's viewfinder, was redefining the concept of legend. Onstage, he casually tested the floor's slickness with a few deliberate slides, quickly gauging the conditions.

As “Chronos” started, so did his dance.

“Wow!" Seeing his first move, the crowd erupted as they were new to this spectacle. Unfazed by the cheers, Hyun-Woo continued his dance with his signature fluidity before seamlessly transitioning across the stage.

Then, the other members and dancers joined in. The choreography had been simplified compared to the competition, but it didn't diminish the song's captivating power.

'Hyun-Woo...' A fan, who was capturing every moment through a focus cam, couldn't peel her eyes away from the screen.

‘No need for edits. Scrap them all.' Worries about him slipping in the rain vanished as he performed with such stability that it seemed effortless. His energy in the choreography, even during parts not his own, and the occasional grimace hinting at the exhaustion from consecutive dance numbers were god-like. Today's Suh Hyun-Woo was beyond any praise, worthy of every bit of admiration and more.

Even if you call it an obsession,

Even if it's discarded the moment it's touched,

We will meet again?

The fan's mouth hung open, mirroring the stunned silence that often followed a truly remarkable performance. Those who had been cheering moments ago now watched Chronos's performance in silent awe.

As the final dance break of “Chronos” unfolded, this time, it was Suh Hyun-Woo taking on Jin-Sung's dance part instead of Yoo-Joon. And with that, cheers surged once again. Seeing the crowd's reaction from up close, Suh Hyun-Woo finished the dance with a mischievous smile, and then Joo-Han patted his shoulder reassuringly. Following Jin-Sung's choreography, Hyun-Woo knelt, lowering his head in a poignant moment of unity.

“Kyaaaa!”

“Amazing!"

When the song ended, the audience applauded. Among them, the occasional "who's that?" questions made the Rings feel a surge of pride.

After the performance, the Chronos members gradually relaxed, retrieving their microphones and repositioning themselves on stage. As Hyun-Woo was visibly drained, he stayed kneeling for a while, panting heavily before he unsteadily stood up and joined the others at the center of the stage.

"Wow, thank you," they panted, their breaths heavy as they continued, "so much. Your reaction was more enthusiastic than we could've ever hoped for, driving us to give our all," exclaimed Joo-Han.

“Thank you!" All members of Chronos bowed in sync.

“Now that we see all of you again, it seems Tinta University is brimming with passion."

“Woah!"

“We hope the festival stays fun and passionate till the end. But sadly, our next song will be our parting goodbye."

“Nooo!" Disappointed sighs filled the air as the audience realized that the next song would be the last. Chronos, a group that was not just a treat for the ears but a feast for the eyes, left the crowd craving for more.

Despite the shared disappointment, Joo-Han smoothly carried on. “We are really sad too. We'd love to be invited back. The next song might be familiar if you are into music sites. It's 'Blue Room Party.’"

“We know it!”

“You do? Haha, thanks for recognizing it!" As Chronos continued their performance, whispers spread among the audience who'd been watching from the back.

“‘Blue Room Party' is their song? Wow, I had no clue it was an idol track."

“Seriously. I thought it was some indie band's creation."

“Blue Room Party” stood out as a song that even the general public recognized. It was a trendy, emotionally charged hip-hop track that people knew even if they didn't follow Chronos. Thanks to this hit, Kang Joo-Han would likely make a pretty penny.

“‘Blue Room Party' is a track I composed and written by our Yoo-Joon. It seems to be particularly popular among college students."

“Yeah!"

“We thought perhaps not everyone knew it was our track, so we prepared it for today. Our final song is 'Blue Room Party.' We hope you enjoy it and continue to have fun at the festival!" As Joo-Han concluded his talk, the music for “Blue Room Party” started rolling.

On music shows, Chronos had charmed audiences with their engaging performances, incorporating dynamic camera movements. Since the song lacked intricate choreography aside from the chorus and ending, each member would step forward during their parts, captivating the audience with their individual charisma. Though they couldn't fully replicate the playful interactions seen on camera, even simple waves and crowd engagement elicited enthusiastic responses from the energized audience.

They gracefully made a light round on the stage, uniting for the chorus, and sometimes sat on chairs to deliver their lines. They also didn’t forget to playfully tease Jin-Sung during “Blue Room Party.” The fans, who'd been worried about a rainy day for their first event, started to relax and genuinely enjoy themselves. And then, it happened.

Cradle the coolness between your lips,

Ignite the thrill, relish the chill,

This moment too shall be etched as a keepsake,

Blue room party?

As Chronos gathered again for a light dance, Yoo-Joon started slipping, struggling not to fall.

“Oooh." Right next to him, Suh Hyun-Woo caught his hand, steadying him.

“What's thaaaaat...?" A warm laughter echoed among the audience. Suh Hyun-Woo's expression remained serious as he held onto Yoo-Joon, perhaps caught off-guard or still tense from the performance, but his legs continued to dance to the rhythm of “Blue Room Party."

“Pfft!" It was the ultimate show of professionalism. Noticing his situation from the audience's reaction, Suh Hyun-Woo burst into embarrassed laughter. Although the lip-sync prevented his words from being heard, it seemed like he was muttering “Oh, how embarrassing.”

Then, with Yoo-Joon now standing properly, he playfully grabbed Suh Hyun-Woo's arm and started moving his legs back and forth in sync with the music, mimicking Hyun-Woo. What started as an unexpected moment turned into an impromptu waltz, much to the delight of the audience.

“So cute... How can they be so adorable!?" The fans were ecstatic to see Suh Hyun-Woo’s flushed face. He was dragged back and forth by Yoo-Joon, who was clearly having a blast. Catching the vibe, the other members also swayed back and forth to the rhythm. In the end, the only one embarrassed was Suh Hyun-Woo.

The laid-back, comfortable atmosphere unique to college festivals allowed everyone to enjoy the lighter moments of “Blue Room Party.” Sadly, the moment couldn’t last forever. When the song ended, Chronos bowed out and exclaimed, “Thank you! We were Chronos!"

After the performance concluded, they lowered their heads and left the stage.

“Wow, that last waltz was just perfect."

“They've set a legend right from their first event."

“Hyun-Woo's platinum blonde hair is a killer. I spent the whole time staring at the screen, seeing a fairy, not a person. He is so precious." The fans were immersed in their post-concert euphoria, reviewing the videos they'd recorded.

The relaxed and energetic vibe of a college festival allowed the members, despite it being their first event, to ease their nerves and showcase their natural stage presence. “Chronos” and the impromptu waltz had provided more than enough material for fans to talk about for days.

Though Suh Hyun-Woo might have shone the brightest with his new hair, it went without saying that every other member was just as captivating.

“We all did great today. Let's grab some food and head home," said one of the college fangirls.

“Yeah. Hey, when are you posting Hyun-Woo's focus cam?"

“As soon as I'm done editing. Don't call me until I start uploading. I want to make it perfect since it turns out so well."

“Okay. I'll give you at least a hundred views when you post it." Their spirits were soaring and wouldn't come down anytime soon.

Three days later, a beautifully edited video surfaced on a fan channel on UTube.

As the video concluded, it left a lasting impression, ensuring that Suh Hyun-Woo's “Genius Moments” would be etched into memory and cherished for years to come.
