Xie Shiyi bowed respectfully to Yun Bixue. “Greetings, Young Madam!”
Yun Bixue nodded, “You don’t have to be so formal with me, you can call me by my name.”
Xie Shiyi lowered her head, “Young Madam, the rules must not be disregarded!”
Seeing it like that, Yun Bixue didn’t insist further. Xie Limo’s subordinates seemed to have ingrained in them the idea of superiority and inferiority. Perhaps it had something to do with Xie Limo’s family?
But no one in the country had known of a prestigious and influential family named Xie! It was only known that Xie Limo had returned from abroad.
Yun Bixue eventually resigned herself to leave in Xie Liu’s car. After a considerable number of turns, they arrived at a place. Yun Bixue looked around. This was the villa district downtown. Looking in from outside, there didn’t seem to be anything special about it. Surrounding the place were some supermarkets and shops.
“Young Madam, I am sorry that you have to put up with this. However, bearing Young Master Xie’s duties in mind, the place cannot be too luxurious.”
Xie Liu explained, worried that Yun Bixue wasn’t satisfied.
Yun Bixue understood the situation. Xie Limo held political power, and could not afford to be denounced.
Despite its ordinary exterior, the interior of the villa was something else. It was filled with an air of antiquity. Every piece of furniture looked like it was priceless. Instead of a leather sofa, it was made of ancient carved wood.
“Please have a seat Young Madam, Young Master Xie will be with you shortly! ” Xie Liu poured Yun Bixue a cup of tea and exited respectfully.
This was all very strange to Yun Bixue, for it was as though she was in the house of an official or noble in ancient times.
She stared at the cup in her hands for a long time. No one could tell what she was thinking.
The villa had grown quiet in the evening, but her mind was full of ups and downs. After her grandfather had woken up, she had decided to be strong and accept whatever he told her to. She wondered if he would send her his blessings if he knew that she had married.
Just as Yun Bixue was thinking about these matters, she heard the door.
Yun Bixue raised her head and saw a man as beautiful as the moonlight entering from the door. He alone seemed to hold all of the elegance in the world. His footsteps were light, as though he were an ancient painting which had come to life, bringing along him an air of exquisite culture.
Yun Bixue looked at Xie Limo blankly and was caught in a trance for a moment. His striking beauty hurt her eyes.
Xie Limo didn’t notice Yun Bixue’s expression, and asked in a silky voice, “Have you had dinner yet?”
His voice was lovely as usual, but today it was slightly husky from tiredness. As he continued to walk, he took off his suit jacket and hung it on his arm.
Yun Bixue heard him and came back to reality, feeling slightly embarrassed. She stood up and took Xie Limo’s suit jacket from him somewhat awkwardly before hanging it up.
“Limo, have you not eaten either? I can cook something for the both of us.”
When she was young, her grandfather had hired a professional to teach her how to be a lady, and how to cook. She just didn’t really have the opportunity to show off her cooking skills before.
As requested by her grandfather, she was not allowed to cook for others before marriage. Back when she cooked for Su Lenghan, she would try to make her dishes a bit more on the ordinary side, and leave out a few spices and condiments.
Now that she was married to Xie Limo, she could finally cook without restraining herself.
Xie Limo’s eyebrows raised, and his eyes shone enchantingly. However, he noticed that she seemed to be worried, and jokingly said, “Let me cook for you Madam, you can also have a taste of your husband’s cooking skills.”
Yun Bixue was relieved listening to his playful tone, and her expression relaxed.
