'Awaken the soulbound holder's bloodline.'
That sentence was more than enough to comprehend what exactly his mother had planned for him.
The Livral Orb was one of his mother's creations. It was made to accelerate the awakening process of her children's bloodline.
When Liam read through the information of the Livral Orb, he recalled it.
The Livral Orb was often used for Rituals and as a means to clear up battlefields. The power hoarded by the Livral orb was devastating after millions of corpses had been devoured by it on various battlefields.
It was a valuable object that was one of a kind…and now Liam was in possession of it.
'But even if she wants me to awaken my bloodline, she could try it with different methods. Is she trying to lure me to her side with this gift?' Liam wondered, 'Does she really think that such a gift will be enough to make me forget everything she did to me? Even if it's invaluable, the Livral Orb is not enough…nothing ever will be…'
Liam didn't really want to use the Livral Orb because that would mean he accepted his mother's gift, but he had to acknowledge that it was a powerful Orb. If he could upgrade his Arcane Power stat with the use of the Livral Orb, he could become stronger much faster.
Furthermore, there were a few other advantages he could make use of, such as acquiring Arcanium from the hoarded power.
The only issue was that he didn't really want to think about Awakening his Bloodline. It was not something he wished to do in the past either because he denied wanting to be associated with his family just as much as they loathed him.
But there was also a seed of doubt that had blossomed in his heart. All these years, he had already tried his best to become the strongest and take revenge while rejecting his bloodlines. And, the result was apparent. Everyone on his mother's side was still alive, and Liam was alone. Everyone he had ever cared for was dead, and his strength had been taken away from him as well.
In fact, it was the Livral Orb that had devoured his power until he was on the verge of death, drained of all his energy and power.
'If I can use the Livral Orb…and it gives me strength…along with enough power to take revenge...does it really matter what means I employed to take revenge?' Liam asked himself, doubting his decisions of the past.
If he hadn't rejected his bloodlines, would those important to him be dead, or would they have survived?
It was not even as if the Livral Orb would only awaken his Devil's bloodline. On the contrary, both of his bloodlines would awaken with the power of the Livral Orb. He was a Halfling with two repulsing bloodlines coursing through his veins, after all!
'Will I awaken another Soultrait, a Soultrait related to the human blood that courses through me?' Liam began to question now that he was already thinking about the bloodlines inside him.
pαпᵈα-noνɐ1·сoМ Even though Liam could easily tell that his mother made Lira gift him the Livral Orb as a reward for conquering the Underground Tower, Liam chose to change his approach to revenge.
Instead of rejecting his mother and his bloodlines, he now decided to accept them. It was not as if he could do anything against the blood that coursed through his veins. It was a part of his being, just like his genetics were a part of his existence.
'Does she really think that she has everything under control?'
Liam shook his head, ignoring the gazes of the Natives. They were very interested in Liam and were keenly observing his expressions which were constantly changing for the last few minutes.
'If she wants me to become stronger, I shouldn't reject it. After all…her arrogance, her manipulations, and the certainty that she has everything under control will inevitably lead to her death…I will make sure of that!'
Liam was satisfied with that thought. It irked him a little because he seemed to be having an internal conflict with respect to accepting his bloodline now, but it would inevitably increase his strength drastically, and he was in dire need of more strength.
The Shedim Champion Boss was already strong enough to nearly kill him. That was enough to show him that the dangers of the Arcane Apocalypse were not only something the Natives had to pay attention to but Liam as well.
There were many monsters and members of other races who would have emerged on Haltan with one Arcane Circle or even two. After all, it was a matter-of-fact that one Elf with two Arcane Circles had emerged on Haltan.
That was a fact Liam had to take into consideration. He didn't want to die even before he was able to take revenge. Thus, he might have to do things that went against his ideals.
In order to obliterate his family in the second attempt, he had to change. Staying the same person as he had been when he first tried to take them down wouldn't make a difference.
Thus, he grit his teeth and continued to stare blankly at the Livral Orb.
Liam noticed something from the corner of his eyes but he didn't really mind it. It was just Kian staring blankly at him.
He knew that Kian was not happy with him. Kian might have never liked Ludwig, but Liam's complete indifference to a death of their group's member was still grating on him.
For Kian, this was a huge red flag, a clear indicator that Liam would never care about them either, or would he?
Kian was pretty sure that Liam didn't really care about their lives. Sometimes, Liam might pay some attention to them but that didn't feel genuine, not after he witnessed how Liam reacted to Ludwig's death.
His reaction was imprinted in Kian's mind, and he couldn't get it out of his head anymore.
Thus, Kian came to a conclusion.
He slapped his thighs, cleared his throat, and made a short, yet decisive announcement.
"I will leave the group!"
