193 chapter 19Bright light.....that was Xia’s initial thought as he woke up. He slowly blinked open his tired eyes. Unfamiliar ceiling was what he first noticed. “A different inn?” he softly mumbled as he sat up, supporting his weight. The window next to him was side open, letting in bright sunlight. “When did I lose consciousness though?”
After he dropped off Felia and Farah he swiftly jumped over roof and got to the spot. From his vantage point, all he could see was dust and flames. Xia frowned. He was not able to see Long Aotian anywhere. He was about to jump down when all of a sudden he lost consciousness.
Xia scratched his head, trying to remember more. “Why did I faint like that? Was I drugged?” he sniffed her small red clothes but there was a residual scent on him, only that strong perfume was left behind. “Then, maybe our inn was destroyed in the struggle,” he whispered. He slowly woke up, changed his clothes and walked out of the door confidently.
But all of a sudden the entire inn tilted and wavered. Startled, Xia jumped back few feats into his room. Even so, the ground under him was wavering side to side.
“What the hell is happening?” he rushed over to the window and glanced out. The sights outside made his heart skip a beat.
It was fully blue.....he was in the middle of the ocean.
Xia poked his head out the window. “Really? Where am I? This....this is not an inn. But this is a ship,” he slowly came to realisation. “What does Long plan to do on a ship?” he mumbled with a frown and rushed out.
Just as he stepped out the door, he stumbled forward and hit against a strong chest. Without looking up, Xia punched his shoulders. “You stupid guy, we were supposed to be heading towards Nevada. We were supposed to meet up with my mum, huh. Why the hell did you change the plan.....”
A huge hand gripped onto his tight fists and pulled his hands up.
.....
Xia glared up at him. But when he was saw was not the familiar black eyes rather blue-green eyes of a man. He pulled his hands from his hold and stepped back further. The man in front of him had blue green hair and also had a huge scar on his face. “Who are you?”
The blue-haired man sighed. “You forgot about me so soon? Tsk, I need to work hard to make myself more rememberable,” he said and slowly stepped forward.
“Don’t..don’t come close or ill hurt you,” Xia whispered with his hands out. He summoned his spiritual energy to control the sea around them, but the water did not react. He tried again but got the same result. ‘What’s going on!! Why can’t I control my spiritual energy?’
The man gripped onto his hand once again and softly massaged his fingers. “Don’t frown so much. Your spiritual energy is locked up. You are as weak as a chicken,”
All of a sudden, he gripped onto his neck tightly. “I can even wring your neck off easily like breaking a stick. Isn’t that wonderful? But I wonder, how would little Aotian react when he finds out his lover was killed so pathetically,”
Xia glared at him. His grip on his throat tightened again. He slowly closed his eyes and tried summoning his spiritual energy again, but nothing happened. “You....who are you? Why are you doing this?” he mumbled.
The man let go of his throat and gripped his chin tightly. “Why, you ask? Because it’s fun. I would love to see how Aotian would react when he loses his love of his life,”
“What do you have against Long?” Xia whispered with his eyes narrowed.
“Nothing....I just want to kill him.” the man casually said. He slightly used his energy to push Xia inside the room and closed the door. “Oh and don’t bother struggling. The punishments would get more severe the more you struggle,” the man said through the door.
Xia calmly plopped onto the bed and scoffed. “This bastard. Who is he? He does look familiar....” he whispered. “blue hair...where have I seen it? And that scar as well. Hmmm...”
He thought back to all the people he ever had a confrontation with. Everyone in his memory were mostly human except... “Wait a minute.....that Kirin I had blue hair too...don’t tell me....o god it has to be that Prince Hua Jung.”
Sighing loudly, he laid down onto the soft bed and rolled around. He glanced at the newly forming bruise on his wrist and growled loudly. “That rude bastard, like master like servant. Both of them are just jerks,” He had no way of releasing his anger so he punched the soft pillows as much as he could and burrowed his head on it. “What do I do now?”
Suddenly he pulled his face out of the soft cushion and glared at the closed door. “Why is he here? He wasn’t in Hales in the first place...how did he get here and how the hell did he capture me without even alerting me?”
These were questions that he could not find answers to as of now. He sighed once again and jumped off the bed. He dashed over to the window and threw it open. “It’s just water. As a crayfish, do you think I can’t jump overboard? Stupid sill humans,” he chuckled and started climbing over.
The double window opened wide, giving him enough to space to fit him. He slowly climbed onto the window sill with one of his legs outside the other placed firmly on the ground. He glanced down and gulped. The drop was at least at least three stories up from the sea level. “Won’t I get hurt if I jump from this height?”
If he had his spiritual powers, it would not have been a problem. But now he was devoid of it, if he jumped now his delicate body would not be able to handle the fall.
“Few broken bones is much better than taking part in their scheme,” he whispered and convinced himself. Decisively He slung both his legs out.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” a horse voice whispered directly behind him. Warm breath brushed over his skin, making it break into goose pimple.
“Watch me,” Xia whispered and jumped out, but a strong hand caught his waist and pulled him up.
“Let go! Let go of me, you bastard! Let go!!!!!!” Xia punched his hand and struggled. But the man’s grip was very steady. The blue-haired Kirin pulled him inside the room and tossed him down.
“Little crayfish, are you stupid?” the man whispered with a wide smile on his face.
Xia stood up, dusted his clothes and rushed over to him. He tightly gripped onto his collar and pulled him down to his height. “Watch how this stupid punches your lights out,” he whispered and threw a direct punch to his face.
The man easily caught it. He chuckled out loud and let go of his hand. “Little crayfish, oh, little crayfish. It looks like you really are stupid. Did you think you can survive if you jump? This is so funny. Why would we leave you in this room with a big window? Go jump, I will watch how your body gets torn to pieces by the sharks, crocodiles and mermen.”
“I’m not a little kid. You can’t threaten me like that!” Xia shouted with his hands on his hips.
“But I’m telling the truth. Watch,” he pulled out a small piece of dried bacon from his waist belt and shook it in front of his face. He then threw it out and gestured for him to look out.
Curiously, Xia too watched the ocean. As soon as the bacon piece landed, huge shark jumped out and swallowed the small piece of meat in seconds.
With mouth agape, Xia glanced at this. ‘If I had jumped I would have...been shark food!!!’
A hand softly caressed his head. “You still going to jump?”
Xia swatted his hands away. “I just might.....you people, you don’t have any good intentions. Especially your master, that bastard Hua jung. He would have probably planned some scheme to capture the dragon with me as bait.”
“Wow, you do have some brain cells remaining,” the man said with a shocked face. But it did not look genuine.
Xia scoffed at him and walked back to his bed. “I’m gonna jump, I tell you.”
“Jump then,”
“I will.....when you are not watching,”
“Why? I would like to see such a spectacular scene of blood and tissues floating around,”
Xia gulped he glanced at the ground. ‘Agh, I can’t escape this way.’ He thought biting his lips anxiously.
“Hey, I have to use the rest room,” he said glancing at him with an innocent look.
The man’s smirk widened even more. The scar on his face expanded as his cheek rose in glee. “Oh, here.” He gave him a small bowl. “Do your business in this and toss it out. It would be a nutritious meal for the sharks,”
Xia grumbled as he watched the man prance out of the room with a swagger in his steps.
