"I—I'm not that overbearing! My husbands from the previous worlds are just stupid! That's why I have to teach them a lesson sometimes— well, every time!" Yunyu yelled.
"Haha, I know, I know," Han Ye nodded. "But they are all powerful men, right? I think that means they have been conquered by you. And willing to put everything for you, as long as you're happy."
"… Yeah, I cannot deny that," Bai Yunyu agreed.
"Same as my wife and me. He is an overbearing wife, but I love him very much."
"Ehh, I never know a literal god is also a henpecked husband," Yunyu commented. "Did you get beaten by your wife too?"
"Well… a lot of times. I think I'm starting to enjoy it, haha—"
"That's… weird. A—Anyway, I"m leaving now. I don't want to be too late for my disciple," Bai Yunyu said. He flew to the lakeside and rushed to leave the realm.
Han Ye watched his wife's back until he disappeared again, and he also chuckled as he thought it was funny.
"You're such an overbearing wife, Bai Yunyu. But I won't lie. I love that side of you. I love everything about you," Han Ye said. "So please, don't hurt me anymore. I'm not that strong."
**
Bai Yunyu went back to the mortal realm from the Forest of Lost Mist. He returned to Han Min's residence and saw Han Ning sitting while tending Han Min, who was on his death bed for real this time. Even Bai Yunyu noticed that he was already short of breath.
Han Ning was worried about his great-grandpa. Because he kept murmuring Master Bai's name, and his body kept getting weaker each day.
It had been a month since Master Bai left, and Han Min's body was at its limit. He was already desperate and saddened. He thought that Master Bai might have forgotten about him again.
So, all he could do was murmur his master's name repeatedly, hoping that Master Bai would return soon.
He was already on his death bed. Even Han Min knew that he'd die soon.
He had no regret in his life. He was saved from the teahouse prostitution by Master Bai— whom he saw as his father figure. He was taught to be a righteous man who'd always help the others as he was also getting helped by Master Bai. He was taught martial arts, and Master Bai always sent him gold with that magical box every month.
He was married, had a wife, children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren who'd succeed him soon.
He also erected the religion for Master Bai, something he never regretted but was a little scared of. Scared that Master Bai might get angry because of that.
Thankfully, Master Bai was magnanimous and generous. He allowed the religion to flourish and persevere, so the only thing that became a regret for Han Min was his inability to be like Young Master Han Shun and devote his life to serving Master Bai forever.
"Master Bai… I… I'm sorry…." Han Min murmured weakly. A drop of tear flowed from the edge of his eyes.
He was about to close his eyes when he saw a golden butterfly appear on top of him.
"Sorry for what?"
Bai Shijue appeared right at the corner of the bed.
"Master Bai!" Han Ning was so happy that his God had finally returned. He wanted to kowtow to Master Bai as always, but Bai Shijue shook his head.
"Not now, Han Ning. Your great grandpa needs some attention first," Bai Shijue said.
He sat on the bed beside the old Han Min, and he showed that olive, "Han Min, this is called the Underworld Olive. If you swallow this, you may never go to the underworld. But you will forever roam the earth as a spirit. I will grace you with the power of the light, so you can be the guiding spirit of people who followed my religion and your descendants. If you accept that, I will give this to you."
"I—I accept, Master Bai…." Han Min weakly. He was never really attached to anyone but his father figure, Master Bai. So if he could spend more time with him or even carry out his task to make Master Bai's religion flourish, even more, he'd do it without thinking twice.
Bai Shijue smiled, "You are a faithful disciple of mine, Han Min. Open your mouth and swallow this."
Han Min opened his mouth, Bai Shijue put the underworld olive inside Han Min's mouth, and the old man used his last strength to swallow the olive before closing his eyes.
There was no movement from Han Min, and his breath had stopped.
Han Min was… dead.
Han Ning clenched his fist, trying his best not to cry in front of his God. But he couldn't help to ask, "M—Master Bai, my great grandpa—"
"Silence, Han Ning. The process is happening," Bai Shijue said. "Look at your great grandpa's body."
Han Ning stared at his great-grandpa's body which magically glowed in white. Slowly, a ball of bright light came out of his chest and circled around Master Bai.
Bai Shijue chuckled, "Yes, you can show yourself now."
The bright light distanced itself from Master Bai, and the ball slowly expanded until a spectral figure of a man appeared in front of them.
He was young— but not younger than his 20s. He was probably in his early 30s. He was tall, handsome, and looked very vigorous with well-trained muscle. He was basically the grown-up version of Han Min that Bai Shijue raised until he left the residence for Han Min.
The spectral figure wasn't green colored, but he was bright like the light. Bai Shijue smiled, then asked, "How do you like your new body? I put my power inside that olive before, so you will return to your younger version and fight evil spirits who might want to attack your family."
"With this, you will be immortal in this world, to be the guiding spirit of my religion and your descendant. This is the best I could do for you, Han Min."
