'W… What have I done? I've promised myself that I will never let anyone hurt Bai Gege, let alone make him cry.'

'But in the end, I am the one who makes him cry instead?'

'Han Shun… what did you do?'

Seeing Bai Gege crying was so surreal for Han Shun that he wished this was just a dream. Because the last thing that he wanted to do was hurt his Bai Gege.

"Bai Gege…" Han Shun called his Gege again.

"Han Shun, did I ever wrong you?"

"… No, Bai Gege…"

"Did I ever treat you harshly?"

"… No…"

"Then I have no regret ever raising you, Han Shun," Bai Shijue stated. "I've raised a good little boy, feeding him, teaching him much stuff, and even brought him here with me, hoping that one day, he would be as strong as I am."

Han Shun's heart was aching. Whenever Bai Gege said something, it felt like a knife that stabbed his heart many times. He lowered his head ashamedly. He didn't dare to look at his Bai Gege's back because it looked… lonely.

"But he has deviated from the path that I've set for him—"

"Bai Gege, I—I'm still the same Han Shun! I still want to follow your teaching!" Han Shun pleaded though he knew that was just his desperate attempt to win his Gege back.

"Your action speaks otherwise, Han Shun," Bai Shijue refuted. "I don't know what you think to ever joining the demonic sect, even went as far as making a deal with the direct evil god himself. But you're way out of the line."

"Bai Gege, I—"

"Han Shun, you're already 18 years old, and if we're in the mortal realm, you would be much older than that. That means you have the capability of making a decision," Bai Shijue clenched his fist. This was also difficult for him. The cute, innocent boy he raised since he was only eight years old turned into the dark side, worshiping the evil god that Bai Shijue hated the most.

Bai Shijue's tears couldn't stop flowing. He wanted to cry and sob while asking Han Shun why did he betray his own teacher.

But in the end, there was no point in that… because Han Shun had already made his decision by now.

….

"I will spare you just this time, Han Shun. You have to leave and hide in the Forest of Lost Mist, or if you're capable enough, you can go to the Undead Swamp in the west of the Forest of Lost Mist. There is a gate to hell if you're worthy to rule down there," Bai Shijue gave out all the information that Han Shun needed, a sign of his care for his treacherous disciple.

Han Shun lifted his head. He looked at Bai Gege's back with unwillingness and rage in his eyes, "Bai Gege, are you kicking me out of the sect?"

"Not only from the sect, Han Shun but also from my life. Never show your face in front of me again."

Han Shun thought that fate was so ridiculous. He did everything because he wanted to stay with Bai Gege. What was the point of everything if Bai Gege kicked him out of his life!?

"But I love staying here. I love staying with you!" Han Shun insisted. "I did everything, including making deals with the God of Nothingness, because I want to be strong and stay with you, Gege!"

"Even if you're not strong for now, I will stay with you, Han Shun. Didn't I tell you that I will never leave you?"

"But…"

"Enough of this," Bai Shijue didn't want to dwell on this sadness even longer. Knowing it would only add more pain to his heart, he didn't want to hear Han Shun pleading even more. He was scared that he might turn around and hug his treacherous disciple.

"Leave now, Han Shun, and never come back. Never use your power to come to the surface and wreak havoc in both the mortal and immortal realm. You cannot meet me again after this."

"And if I refuse?" Han Shun asked. He wanted to keep going and hoped that Bai Gege would think twice. He wanted to return here someday, with Bai Gege no matter what.

"If you refuse and wreak havoc, or try to meet me again in this realm, then I will be your enemy," Bai Shijue said. "I will not hesitate to kill you, Han Shun."

Han Shun gritted his teeth. He never thought this could happen. He thought… with Master Han Ye able to hide the evilness in his heart and all the sect elders dead, he thought he would have a peaceful life with Bai Gege.

Han Shun had paved everything for himself to have a beautiful, solitary life with Bai Gege. But everything had been flipped now.

'I swear, if I know who told Bai Gege about this, I will fucking kill him!' Han Shun swore in his heart.

"Leave, Han Shun. I don't want to see your face anymore," Bai Shijue said.

Han Shun knew that he couldn't coax Bai Gege right now. He was angry at him, so the best he could do was leave.

Though he promised himself that leaving Bai Gege alone was just temporary, he didn't want Bai Gege to forget about him.

"I will return, Bai Gege. No matter what, I will return to you," Han Shun stated boldly, but Bai Shijue said nothing.

Han Shun took a deep breath and then disappeared, leaving the sect back to the Forest of Lost Mist for good.

After Bai Shijue felt the presence of Han Shun started thinning until there was nothing left, he was assured that Han Shun had already left.

Pupa materialized in front of Bai Yunyu, who was already crying ugly like a kid whose toys had been robbed, "Huweeeee! Pupaaaa, my cute maiden heart has been brokennn!!"

Pupa rolled its mechanical eyes, "Good thing Han Shun cannot see your face, or he might die laughing instead."
