Hidden Wolves

Since the beginning of Heren City, it was a notorious gang. However, with the appearance of Abberants forming the Handwing Gang, they've further hidden themselves. They didn't stop their activities until Teren showed up, plucking them up one by one from their roots.

Teren didn't like the idea of too much underground traffic within the city. Even with a vague recollection of the past, he still has the goal of having a peaceful environment, and to do that, he had to take the roots of evil.

He had already learned from his past mistakes when the Handwing Gang tried to raid his house. This time, he didn't want to provoke anyone anymore, he will just have to remove them.. Without them, there is no one to provoke.

Underground trading, there is such a thing under Heren City and the Hidden Wolves have made use of it.

Teren didn't know but at that time, his face was seen by one of the victims being trafficked, who now haunts his dreams... literally.

By himself, he made sure to close the underground. One of its entrances was near the warehouse. Handwing Gang had cut off most of the business of the nearby gangs but they didn't receive some repercussions for it under the protection of the Devil Himself.

The summer vacation of students was full of events and Teren has continuously used his Great Spirit of Mind-Altering. With the SSDA still having no memories of him, he was able to go undetected.

It was practically chaotic but the Hidden Wolves have never shown themselves since... until now, that is.

"Another underground storage room? This is just like a big basement."

Uncle Jo entered and walked down the stairs as he saw crates upon crates in the room while in the middle, under the spotlight, there was a round table.

Several men and women were all sitting around the table in their suits. Their appearances are far from ordinary thugs. In comparison, Uncle Jo just wore a varsity jacket with a bonnet while Dennis, who's hiding in his shadow, was just wearing plain black attire.

"Who are you?"

One man who seemed to be in charge of the round table's discussion stood up and asked Uncle Jo.

"Wait, he looks familiar..."

A late middle-aged lady squinted her eyes when a name entered her head. She jerked up and pointed.

"Hardfist Jo!"

"Hardfist Jo!? From the Handwing Gang!?"

"Oh no, I knew it, the rumors are baseless!"

"Even if there's no sight of them, that doesn't mean they're gone!"

"Stop panicking, it's just one of him! Where are the bodyguards!?"

The man in charge raised his hands, trying to calm the other, while he himself was sweating as he watched the confident Jo walk down the stairs.

Soon, out of the crates, there are about the same number of people just like those who sat around the table. There are specifically six of them.

"We have six Aberrants with us, there's only one of him! Stay calm!"

"You're right..."

But why is he so fearless?

They all thought but they didn't want to say it out loud, not wanting to incite fear.

"Hmm, before I interrogate any of you, try me first."

Uncle Jo sternly said but soon smiled as he looked at the thug-looking people that came out of the gaps between the stacks of crates.

"Hmph! You're underestimating them! They are Aberrants just like you!"

"Get him now!"

As soon as that words came out, each Aberrant looked at their boss for confirmation, and with each of their own signal, six Aberrants came rushing towards Uncle Jo. Some are faster than the others so they've reached him first. Attacking all at once is not just feasible. These six Aberrants are not a team, if they attacked altogether, they will just get in each other's way.

Meanwhile, the six 'leaders' looked at their surroundings and especially from where Uncle Jo came in. They were thinking-

Where are his companions? He seemed awfully calm for a lone man inside his enemy's den.

But at the next moment, they've found the answers for themselves.

Six Aberrants fainted onto the ground. Maybe some of them even died. But whether or not they are dead is not the important part, what matters is that this one enemy has defeated six Aberrants all by himself, on top of that, he only received a few scratches and let out a few beads of sweat.

He's stronger than they thought!

With three Spirits, Uncle Jo was able to defeat six Aberrants. It's not exactly a three-against-six fight. For each additional Spirits, it's like a multiplier depending on their types.

If Uncle Jo received Dennis's Spirit of Sensitivity that will help him determine the truth from lies, his overall strength in battle would just be the same. However, his second and third Spirits are complementing his first. He's a CQC fighter and that's not too hard to understand why his power multiplied instead of just being increased.

Therefore, unless his stamina was exhausted, no matter how many Single-Spirit Aberrants attack him, he will defeat them with ease.

This time, his opponents were unfortunate since they don't know that. No, actually, even if they did, Uncle Jo has the speed to catch them.

Sitting in one of the chairs, Uncle Jo looked at each one of them with stern eyes. Meanwhile, Dennis comes out of his shadow and sat on the second chair.

"So, are any of you aware of your positions and the consequences of failing to answer our questions?"

.....

Uncle Jo and Dennis came out of an apartment building. Dennis took out a pack of cigarettes which Uncle Jo took one.

As they smoked, Uncle Jo sighed.

"Boss Hark is really out of our league."

"Yeah, I doubter him at first but after what I heard, I feel dumb," replied Dennis with a shake of his head.

"Who knew that the city prison have become the main base of the Hidden Wolves? We've been too focused on the Spectre Gang back then, too arrogant with Boss Hark leading us, that we didn't notice they were recruiting each and every Aberrant in the city.

"And now, they're fucked. They've even sent Sik to us. I knew that kid is too weird to gain his own strong Spirits but I didn't think he was a spy."

"Not that we gave him real power anyway. He was just a figurehead to say that we prioritize strength overall."

"Yeah... but I don't get one thing that they said though."

"About the manufacturer of Aberrants?"

"They said she's a girl. One who attracts Spirits. How is that... true... maybe my Spirit of Sensitivity is not a hundred percent accurate."

"No doubt about that."
