Chapter 169: Up Against Aerial Attack

"That bastard! Out of everything, did you have to drop stones over us?"

"Now I can't get rid of the title black tongue. Those three people wouldn't let it go."

Clicking his tongue in annoyance, Leon walked ahead, raising a large frightening sword that was almost as tall as a person.

The sword was pitch black and sent shivers down the spine of anyone who watched.

His eyes were burning with a maddening battle spirit as he took large strides forward.

While those at back escaped easily, the one who were clashing with the Orcs were in a pinch as they backed away stones were on their tail, and at the front monster army stood with a smile.

Taking the initiative on their own, the soldiers at the front gave away feeling the sheer intensity of coldness and eeriness radiating from Leon.

Furious roars and miserable screams were still interweaved with the clashing striking of Orcs who started shooting their weapons while stepping back.

His ears recorded the roar of despair and screams that can never be forgotten.

His eyes recorded the pile of death that was registered on their sides within an hour.

Corpses kept on increasing as the humans beside him fell.

And amidst, a terrifying anger surged inside Leon looking at his people.

The death.....The death that danced around him.

Who is the one responsible for this?

He didn't know that but he knew one thing.

If he didn't act, meaningless death would radiate all around.

The sight of a large stone falling toward him was reflected into Leon's eyes.

With a snort, he raised the huge dark sword. Scales hardened on his hands and an influx of strength poured into his arms.

Leon spun around to generate some momentum and then with a roar, stepped ahead and with a loud roar threw the sword.

"GOO!"

SWOOSH!

The sword shot into the sky like a cannonball and struck the stone coming at him.

BOOOOOM

As Leon's sword collided with the massive stone hurtling toward him, there was a deafening clang, sending shockwaves rippling through the air.

The force of the impact shattered the stone into countless fragments, scattering them in all directions like an explosion.

Dust and debris filled the air and the sword changed direction by the impact shot to the right and struck another boulder but with the remaining momentum he was only able to deflect it a bit.

But the sudden shift shot it back towards the monster army and crashed into them leaving behind a bloody trail.

BOOM!

Leon jumped and with a blur, his figure shot forward leaving a fierce gust.

Within a moment, he reached the opposite side.

His hand grabbed the throat of two Orcs in front and then he leaped behind to another place where the boulders were falling.

"KhMMMM!"

"Human..AARK!"

The ground cracked under his fierce strike and as he appeared at the place the stone was falling, like a rag doll swung the two orcs slamming it on the boulder.

BOOM!

A sonic blast shook the place and blood splattered all around as Orc's body burst apart along with the boulder.

Leon then stepped forward gathering Qi in his hand as he ran toward another spot while roaring loudly.

"Listen, don't stop the soldiers. Let them run. Those at the Martial Lord level try to break or deflect the attack. I will take care of those annoying things that are going around."

"Awaken"

[Spread all around the battlefield and push out those over whom the boulder is going to fall.]

A trail of shadows gushed out and rushed around mingling with the shadows on the ground.

Leon then turned around and swung his arm.

The black sword appeared in his hand and with a huge leap, he spun his body and threw it to another boulder.

BANG!

Another boulder was crushed around.

BOOM!BOOM!BOOM!BOOM!BOOM!

While Leon destroyed the boulders falling before them, the ghost army saved the ones who were under the radar of bombardment.

The soldiers running away are suddenly pulled back by an invisible force and thrown back.

Some were pushed to the side, some to the left and right.

"What?"

"How did I stumble?"

"Shut up and run, it's coming."

Spitting screams of bewilderment they stood up and tried to run away but they fell again and this time they felt a grip around their ankles but on looking down, all they saw was their shadow.

Soon, many soldiers started falling mysteriously.

While many Captains were shocked, Peter and Garrison looked at each other.

"No matter how many times I look, it still feels like magic," Garrison murmured, swallowing his saliva.

"Captain Peter stops the daydilling and act immediately."A nearby Captain shouted in frustration while running forward.

The other Captains, as if mesmerized, followed Leon's advice subconsciously.

"It's not that simple," Peter screamed to draw attention as he threw the spear.

The spear whirling in the air struck the stone but even with momentum, it just burst part of it, and the remaining one crashed on the ground.

Fortunately, no one was on the radar.

The same thing occurred to others and many times the weapons were just stuck.

The death caused by boulders wasn't much and it hardly hit the target but it achieved the goal of destroying their formation and creating a mass panic.

An excellent strategy to destroy their willpower.

"Then just evacuate. I will take care of the frontlines."Leon spat An excellent strategy to destroy their willpower.

"Then just evacuate. I will take care of the frontlines."Leon spat with an unpleasant expression.

"Just evacuate. It's meaningless to destroy each boulder rather than kill a few hundred."

Leon summoned the great sword. When it comes to single-

handed slaughter, a huge magnificent sword is the best.

However, he wasn't going to let the aerial beast do what they pleased.

He raised his sky to give a final look.

'Hawk, you know what to do.'

Then turning his attention, he charged forward.

SWOOSH!SWOOSH!

"Human…"

"Enemy."

The orcs sneered and mocked Leon for coming alone but soon their expression was going to challenge, making them regret their recklessness.

Leon single-handedly charged into the enemy camp. Since there was no risk of boulders falling there, he charged forward bravely.

His great sword swerved through the air producing a shriek of death and the moment it struck the front of Orc who also swung their weapons.

BOOOOOOM!

A part of the lines were blasted away under the tyranny of Leon Greatsword. And with that, Leon stepped over an Orc face and using it as a stepping stone shot up and struck the sword creating rippling shockwaves that blasted everyone around him.

BOOOOM!

...…..

Meanwhile up in the air…

SCREECH!SCREECH!

Emitting an ear-splitting shriek, the Griffins tore through the air

Their sharp eyes scanned across the battlefield as the swarm searched around for spots to drop the stones so that their troops wouldn't be annihilated.

The first lines of Griffins drop the boulders and retreat followed by another line. The retreating Griffins would then pick up another one and come here to drop.

They would repeat the process until the human fell.

That was a plan but….

As they soar through the air, suddenly dark mass flashes into their eyes.

"Screech!"

As the griffins thundered towards their target, the sky suddenly darkened with the arrival of a flock of hawks and ravens.

The griffins, initially unfazed, attempted to evade the newcomers, but the smaller birds matched their every move by following their every move.

With a fierce determination, the dark mass of hawks and ravens darted in covering their vision then thief beaks hit like lightning into the griffins' eyes.

The impact popped their eyes, causing the griffins to shriek in agony as their vision blurred and their course faltered.

In a desperate attempt to regain control, the wounded griffins turned off course, their charge now disrupted by the relentless onslaught of the hawks and ravens but then it wasn't easy as each one of them was assaulted with a flock they plucked their feathers.

As the hawks and ravens launched their assault, the air was filled with the sound of screams and piercing shrieks.

The griffins, cries turning to agonized wails, thrashed in the air as the smaller birds targeted them and soon they started to fall.

With each strike, a griffin would let out a gut-wrenching howl before plummeting from the sky, crashing onto the land below with a thunderous impact.

Feathers and dust swirled in the chaos, creating a haunting scene as their body burst on slamming against the ground.

However, before they could injure the soldiers, a cold wind blew, and most shot up, freezing them.
