Chapter 61: Applying to go out

Chapter 61: Applying to go out

One day, Terrance went to collect Pokémon food as usual. On the way, he encountered Teacher Teresa, the Breeder with exceptional Pokémon food-making skills.

Although Teacher Teresa is not very old, she has her own way of doing things. She is open to listening to everyone’s opinions and will pick the best ones to implement. She is seen as a gentle teacher by some students, and due to the small age gap with the students, she is able to easily blend in with them.

Terrance really likes this teacher, and not just him, but most of the students also adore this Breeder teacher. She is helpful, kind-hearted, and although she occasionally displays a little impatience due to her anxiety disorder, it adds a touch of adorable contrast to Teacher Teresa.

Compared to the stern homeroom teacher of the Breeder Class, Mr. Forrest, Terrance preferred seeking advice from Teacher Teresa, especially regarding Pokémon food knowledge. Moreover, Teacher Teresa was quite beautiful.

Terrance appreciates the “big sister” type more than little girls like Little June and Candice…

With her brown hair tied up in a braided bun, emerald green eyes, and a normal white dress adorned with golden embroidery and a broken colorful glass pattern in shades of blue, complemented by white stockings and a silver ring with a black line around the neck, she exuded an aura of intellectual beauty.

“Kid, are you busy these days? Are you interested in going on a training journey?” Teacher Teresa, with an ever-present smile on her face, spoke. Not only did she possess excellent insights about Breeding, but she also occasionally taught Coordinator Class’ students.

“Training journey…?”

The training journey of the academy takes place within Mt. Coronet, a vast area that couldn’t be compared to the size of one or two cities. It was the largest gathering place of Pokémon in the Sinnoh region, with a wide variety of species.

At the same time, with so many Pokemon living there, there are bound to be some powerful Pokemon that stand out.

The so-called training journey meant venturing into the wild, battling wild Pokémon, or capturing Pokémon that one likes to strengthen one’s team. However, due to the dangers of Mt. Coronet, most of the training journeys were organized by the academy on a regular basis, with several students forming a team to participate.

Furthermore, based on the students’ performances, they would receive some credit rewards.

“No, I have something else to do,” Terrance declined.

“Well, that’s a shame. Breeders are highly sought after in the training teams…” Teresa expressed her regret.

Terrance smiled but didn’t respond.

“By the way, Teacher Teresa, do you know where to find Razz Berries and Nutpea Berries?”

“Razz Berries and Nutpea Berries?”

“Yes, I wanted to use my credits to obtain them from the academy, but I found that these two types of Berries are no longer available in the storage,” Terrance explained.

In order to nourish Swablu’s brain, Terrance has temporarily changed its diet.

Milk, dairy products, legumes, as well as Razz Berries and Nutpea Berries, which are rich in nutrients and excellent for memory enhancement and rejuvenation. They greatly aid in boosting brain power and maintaining overall health.

“If the academy doesn’t have them, you might be able to buy them in Veilstone City or Hearthome City.”

“But… if there are no special circumstances, you can’t leave Mt. Coronet by yourself during your time at the academy,” Teresa said.

“There’s no need to be so strict,” Terrance said bitterly.

“Please, you must help me…”

Terrance wore a pleading expression, but in truth, he had already planned everything. These two conveniently unavailable Berries were carefully selected by him. After spending two months in the academy, he was getting bored and was looking for an opportunity to explore the outside world.

Even during his time at the Old Green House, he couldn’t sit still. If it weren’t for the necessity of memorizing Breeder’s knowledge, he couldn’t have devoted himself so wholeheartedly to it.

“It’s quite troublesome…” Teresa tilted her head, looking thoughtful.

Terrance held his breath…

“Alright then…”

Terrance let out a sigh of relief.

“I’ll put in a request for you to be my assistant, and you can help me with some shopping. However, don’t expect a high chance of success,” Teresa said.

“I understand, thank you,” Terrance made a V sign in his heart.

Afterward, Terrance continued his training with Nosepass, Swablu, and Beautifly.

He designed several attack trajectories plans based on diagrams and computer drawings to which allowed Nosepass to coordinate well together, thereby increasing the pressure on Swablu.

This training lasted only one day. To Terrance’s surprise, Teresa’s request was quickly approved.

This speed left a deep impression on Terrance; the efficiency was simply astonishing.

“Fantastic!”

Not only did Terrance want to go out to relieve some stress, but he also hoped to capture another Pokémon. Though he had a lot on his plate at the moment, a Trainer couldn’t be considered qualified without a basic team of six Pokémon.

Life at Crown Academy was comfortable. With his focus solely on Swablu and Beautifly, Terrance felt he could handle everything well, even while studying Breeder knowledge simultaneously, without feeling overwhelmed.

Though he might be able to capture Pokémon during the academy’s training journey, he preferred going on his own since traveling in a group could lead to disputes. Terrance enjoyed acting alone.

After obtaining the necessary permission to go outside, Terrance happily exchanged some of his credits for the latest high-quality Poké Ball produced by Silph Co., the “Ultra Ball,” which he prepared for his potential new partner.

Following the approval for his trip, Terrance also bid farewell to Mr. Forrest. After all, he was his homeroom teacher, so he had to inform him out of courtesy.

Additionally, Terrance brought along six Pokémon: Swablu, Beautifly, and the four Nosepass that he was taking care of.

During his outing, training might pause for a while, but it was inevitable. Taking some time to relax would greatly benefit the Pokémon.

Under the dormitory building.

Terrance held Ralts’s daily portion of food, which Teacher Teresa entrusted him to deliver to Ralts.

In the past few days, Ralts had been undergoing the same training as Terrance’s Pokémon. Terrance could tell that Ralts was enjoying it. It longed to stand on the same stage as other Pokémon to prove it wasn’t special.

However, a Ralts that only knows Teleport is destined to be overlooked by most Trainers. Training a Ralts who only knows one move Teleport, which could only be used to evade attacks, is not considered very helpful in battles by the majority of Trainers.

After all, in a battle, the key was the ability to attack.

“I’m leaving now, Ralts. Ozawa will bring you your food for a while, and you should cooperate with the teachers’ research. Soon, you might be able to understand why you can’t learn other moves. So, while I’m away, please don’t neglect your Teleport training.”

“Ralts~”

Smiling, Terrance touched Ralts’s hand with his finger, stood up, stretched lazily. It had been a busy day, and now it was time to pack up and get ready for an early departure tomorrow!
