Chapter 122: Are you kidding?

Chapter 122: Are you kidding?

After leaving Pallet Town, Terrance set off towards his destination, following the path outlined as the most suitable for Trainers.

If one wanted to save time, Viridian Forest was an unavoidable obstacle. This forest, much larger than the area around Mt. Chimney, was a paradise for Bug-type and Flying-type Pokémon in the Kanto Region.

“Too weak.”

Terrance walked through the dim forest with Swablu by his side, effortlessly defeating any Pokémon foolish enough to approach him.

Walking calmly through the forest, Terrance was no longer the cautious kid from two years ago. The reputation he earned at Crown Academy was well-deserved.

“Ah…” Terrence looked at the two mating Caterpies, whom he had accidentally disturbed and awkwardly took a detour.

“You guys continue…”

Having Swablu by his side was so that it can accumulate battle experience, but these wild Pokémon clearly couldn’t help Terrance with his dilemma.

Terrance didn’t have time to pick fights with the leaders of Pokémon groups in the forest. So he had no choice but to target some individuals that looked quite powerful while hurrying on the way.

Except for a few Pokémon, most were willing to accept the challenge because Terrance offered tasty snacks, even if it was just a bit.

It was because of these delicious treats that a Pidgeotto even wanted to follow Terrance, scaring him into a hasty refusal.

He already has enough Pokemon, and, moreover, they haven’t even evolved yet. Raising them already required a considerable amount of effort.

The evolutionary stone for Growlithe had already been secured. If Ralts successfully evolved into Kirlia, obtaining a Dawn Stone from the professors wouldn’t be difficult. They would likely be willing to help solve Ralts’ peculiar condition.

As for Misdreavus, after becoming an “Illusion Master,” it earned a considerable amount of credits. After adding some more, Terrance could have easily exchanged it for a Dusk Stone.

However, due to special circumstances at the time, Misdreavus wasn’t in a hurry to evolve. Moreover, high-quality Dusk Stones, rarer than Fire Stones, were hard to come by, so Terrance need to give it some more thought.

Beautifly…as a Bug-type Pokemon, its evolution speed is the most reassuring for Terrance. Even before setting out on the trip, it had reached a mature state.

“Dragon Rush!!”

With a casual command, even the rarely seen Scyther in Viridian Forest was taken down by a single Dragon Rush.

Now, Swablu’s Dragon Rush was no longer comparable to a year ago. To put it elegantly, the Dragon Rush had “transformed”!

Originally surrounded by rich and violent Dragon-type energy, this energy had become even more concentrated. As Swablu matured, when it used Dragon Rush, it looked like it had transformed into a divine dragon, soaring into the sky!

If Terrance was still in chuunibyou phase, when Swablu used Dragon Rush or Dragon Pulse, he would theatrically wave his hands, trying to closely imitate special effects of “Eighteen Subduing Dragon Palms” or “Dark Flame Master.”

“Well done,” Sensing its aura, Terrance felt that even a real Altaria wouldn’t intimidate his Swablu.

Every enemy must be destroyed with a single strike.

“If your mother sees your growth, will she be amazed?” Terrance chuckled. He wished to see Swablu evolve quickly and have a grand battle with its mother.

“If you win against her, will she be proud or disappointed?” Terrance asked.

Looking at its heartless owner, Swablu could only weakly chirp.

Time seemed to stand still in the forest as Terrance continued along the path opened by the Pokémon League for Trainers. At some point, a bright light appeared before him.

Finally out of the forest.

Terrance hadn’t enjoyed the moment for long when a loud cry for help reached his ears.

“Swablu, lead the way!”

Terrance was startled, and Swablu, following the direction of the sound, quickly flew over. If anyone saw Terrance at this moment, they would surely be amazed, gaping in astonishment.

He was running too fast!!

Even Terrance himself was surprised at his current physique, but the improvement was just that exaggerated. Especially after Julian’s martial arts teaching and the torment in the gravity room, his physique had significantly improved compared to the beginning.

Walking for a day and a night during the journey should be completely fine.

Crossing through the thick growth of grass, Terrance discovered that the source of the sound was two Trainers looking anxious. One was in pain, leaning against a tree, while the other stood there, frantically looking around, appearing helpless.

“What happened?” Terrance inquired as he walked out and looked at the person leaning against the tree.

“Plea…Please! ! Do you have any antidote? My friend was bitten by an Ekans…”

Seeing that someone had responded to the cry for help, the standing Trainer was immediately relieved and quickly explained the situation.

“Ekans?”

Terrance, who was initially quite nervous, instantly breathed a sigh of relief, “Don’t worry.”

“Let me take a look.”

Seeing the nervousness of the person leaning against the tree, Terrance tried to appear more friendly. “Don’t be afraid, relax, it’s not as awful as you think.”

“Endure it for a bit.”

Taking out bandages from his backpack, Terrance directly grabbed the person’s thigh, applying disinfectant gauze, cotton padding, and first-aid dressing before pressing it on the wound, and then wrapping it with an external bandage.

“What… what are you doing?!” The standing Trainer, seeing Terrance’s actions, exclaimed, “Our friend has gone to find a Berry that can neutralize the poison. You…you…”

“Don’t panic. Didn’t you guys learn any basic knowledge before starting your journey?” Terrance stood up, turning around.

“If you wait for your friend’s Berry, he might really be in real danger.”

“What do you mean?” Both of them looked bewildered.

“It’s very simple.” Terrance sighed, “Ekans is not poisonous. If bitten by it, just stop the bleeding quickly.”

The two couldn’t believe it. “Are you joking? Ekans is clearly a Poison-type Pokémon.”

“That’s why people like you, who only have half-baked knowledge, are the most troublesome,” Terrance sighed inwardly, wondering if he has been influenced by certain elders as he inwardly criticized these Trainers who lacked any basic knowledge.

“Don’t worry, you’ll be fine. Rest for a bit and then see if you can walk later.”

“And don’t worry about Ekans being poisonous. It’s likely that you disturbed it, and it perceived you as a ‘threat’. Anyways, getting bitten by Ekans isn’t serious, because it’s non-venomous before evolving into Arbok.” Terrance explained with a smile.

“I’ll wait here with you. Trust me, I’m a Breeder.”
